I 've just seen your message and you're right, I made a mistake with the opuntia ...and changed the title. But I give all my turtles opuntia ficus indica to all my turtles, a.radiata, european turtles, G.sulcata ...I take off the spikes and cut them in little pieces ...I wil put onothers videos ;)
Nice video, but that was not an Opuntia, but a Mammillaria- Dolichothele I think. She didn't appreciate the spines, she stopped eating after swallowing that areole. I am affraid to give mines Opuntia pads as they are, I always clean them. Gopherus from Mojave know how to handle spiny pads, but I wouldn't risk that with a Mediterranean species; cacti are unknown for them.
Please remove the word "Opuntia", that could make some guys to feed their tortoises with true Opuntia and harming them.
