@MonsterHunterGirl98 I'm not sure how big Ball Pythons get when they reach peak adulthood....I'm sure every species of animals have a few that get unusually large...so who knows really...I would say at least 4-5 feet tho...can anyone else chime in and help answer this question please? I'd like to know what lengths other Ball Python owners are seeing?!?!? Thanks guys for watching the video! I have another one up with him and he's a lot longer now...check it out!
When a snake hunts, captures, and eats a rat in the wild, intelligent people are more or less okay with it--because it's the food chain, and the natural way of things. In a million years no snake and no mouse have ever met in the confines of a glass terrarium, so when one invariably eats the other--it's not natural. It's cruel for the mouse, and to some extent the snake as well. Some days it disgusts me to be human.
@bluesy3 That's why I take Hayze out of his home when he feeds....we have a little ritual everytime he gets fed. I say a little something and give thanks to & for the food that Hayze is about the receive. I apologize to the rat that he has to pass... but his energy isn't lost when hes gone, it's transferred from one animal to the next and lives on thru Hayzey :) Namaste! :)
@TheBikerboi241 Sorry I'm not sure the name of the song...if you have a phone that can download apps you can download the music app that listens to the music playing and tells you the song name and who sings it :) Thank you! Namaste! :)

@TheKakishy ball python.get a 20 gallon terrarium. put newspaper under its shredded wood chips substrate. get a hide and something it can climb. a big water dish. a heating pad under the terrarium (keep it on low) and put a "flukers clamp lamp" on top of the terrarium
not trying to tell you how to keep or care for you BP, hes obviously healthey and happy but when you feed him in the cage he might swallow some of the bedding by accident and it could cause impaction and cause ur snake to be hurt or killed.
@bebop7c2 Soooo I take it that means your one of those people that would live in a house with a bunch of rats running around everywhere....pooping on everything and eating everything in sight? Personally I'd rather have a bunch of snakes eating as the Food Chain proclaims otherwise we'd have an overpopulation of rats on this planet and than who knows what kind of chaos to follow....to each their own though....a snakes life can go on because a rats life comes to an end....thats the circle of life
@bradalexander1 I understand the food chain, and that animals in the rodent family eat some snakes, so it works both ways. I wouldn't stop a big rat from eating a snake, but I'd stop a snake from eating a rat, I just like rats.
@bebop7c2 That's a bit of a strange view, and in a way, disrespectal to nature. If you come across a snake constricting a wild rat, would you kill it just because it nearly had a well deserved meal? Rats are the ones that need to be controlled, they are a big pest and spread diseases. That's not to say rats make great pets, though.

i dont feed my ball python live rats, but he wont eat a frozen one. but i have fed my almost 5 foot ball python a few live rats. problem is the live rat can blind my snake (which doesnt have eyelids, and maul my snake while its being constricted), just some advice.
@chillinhaha1 sounds like you didn't teach your snake how to properly bite first to hold a mouse (or whatever your feeding him) from moving around and then wrap the body after and roll until its' completely wrapped around his food...start small and work your way up with the food and it helps him get a feel for what he/she needs to do in order to capture & eat his food safely....I've even had to go as far as holding the rat foot from scratching my hazey as he's killing his meal! talk about NUTS!
@biggoofybastard ...............Parasites from live feeding??? Do they worry about parasites when they eat live food out in the wild??? And these are store grown mice and rats he's eating.....I would actually be MORE WORRIED about parasites eating the decomposing body of the dead mouse before I worried about any on a live one....just my opinion, to each their own...I've never had an issue yet and I dont ever plan on having one either... thanks for your comment tho!

@AmsterdamFire321 Well it's obvious to me that you clearly do not understand what Occupy Wall Street is all about! And thats the way the television media is supposed to make it since they work for the corporations AND government that this movement is protesting!
Occupy Wall Street is about waking people the hell up outta their comatose minds and revealing the lies and deceit thats been fed to them by the government and their news presstitutes!
Do some online research for yourself for a change!
@bradalexander1 I know exactly what they are. Occupy Wall Street are a bunch of liberal kids who think they're entitled to other people's hard earned money. What the fuck is wrong with corporations? Don't they provide MILLIONS of jobs across the country? People always say "do some research" when you actually make a point that they can't respond to. If you take money from Wall Street and corporations they WILL cut jobs to make up for the cost. Liberalism=Steal from the rich, give to the lazy
@AmsterdamFire321 "...[O]ur leaders have pursued solutions that are not solving our problems, instead they propose policies that accomplish little ... With democracy in crisis a true grassroots movement pointing out the flaws in our system is the first step in the right direction. Count me among those supporting and cheering on the Occupy Wall Street movement.", Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States.
@AmsterdamFire321 “They [the Occupy Wall Street Movement] blame, with some justification, the problems in the financial sector for getting us into this mess, and they’re dissatisfied with the policy response here in Washington. And at some level, I can’t blame them.” Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
@AmsterdamFire321 "There has been class warfare going on,... It's just that my class is winning. And my class isn't just winning, I mean we're killing them.”, Warren Buffett, Nebraska-based Berkshire Hathaway Hedge Fund, third richest man on the Planet.
@AmsterdamFire321 "I think it takes that [the Occupy Wall Street Movement] to make things happen sometimes. ....[Over the past 15 years] we saw large corporations really screw people.... There has never been a time in my lifetime when the government is going to cut an incredible amount of programs that support poor people and feed them." Howard Buffett, son of Warren Buffett
@bradalexander1 You need to realize what government money is going towards. JOBS EXIST. I can search craigslist and find hundreds of them. It's all a matter of actually working. Welfare supports SOME people that actually need it, but it also supports a majority that don't. YOU HAVE FAMILIES THAT HAVE GONE 3 or 4 GENERATIONS ON WELFARE AND GOVERNMENT CHECKS. You can't tell me that in that time period no one could find a job....it's just easier to be lazy and let taxpayers fund EVERYTHING.
@xxtasha10xx I used to feed frozen mice to him but he'd only eat them half the time so I find it's just easier to go to the pet store and grab a live one after work and then I dont have to store his food in my freezer when he decides that he doesnt like frozen ones compared to alive!
@bradalexander1 Yeah I know.I don't bash on people that do because It's just what they would do if they were in the wild.I'm not like one of these nature freaks that take it out on the snake and say the snake should die. They are just as bad because they say the poor mouse,It should have to die blah blah blah but then they say the snake should die. They're just as bad so they're aren't all innocent are they! It's nature.
@xxtasha10xx And pet shops have quite a reputation for being wrong. However, it is unlikely they would sell you live vertebrae if they thought it was for food as it is considered by most to be cruel these days. Do your research and you will find that live food is generally accepted for problem feeders who usually have to be force-fed but it is thought of as unacceptable for normal snakes. Besides, No-one could prove that you are feeding live unless they are trespassing on your property anyway.
@xxtasha10xx I never said that feeding live food was a problem. I use frozen because its easier than constantly buying live though if any of my snakes go off food for a while I will feed them live, no problem. I was just pointing out that it is legal, at least if required. The law says (and this is well documented) that if you own an exotic pet in the UK you have too keep it in good health, no matter what. They have priority over rodents as most of these are not exotic.
Never had a problem feeding my BP live or frozen, one big rat or a bunch of small ones. In the wild they'll go into a den and eat 3-4 mice or 10 babies at once, it's not a problem for them to eat the same way in captivity. Plus they can digest smaller foodlings faster and easier.
@killyoufor20 Not if you make sure and handle them responsibily...and dont just go for the grab...if your carefull and responsible than anything you focus on is possible, including not being bitten by a RAT!
not judging you......but two small rats in one feeding isnt healthy for your snake at all....he might be ok now but its gonna fuck him up later.....im jus sayin......
@trobperry Sorry I mis-typed in my last reply....if Soldans is out of small rats I will feed Hayze (2) Mice which are REALLLLY SMALL compared to what she's used to eating each week. So I'm pretty sure it's okay and not harming or endangering her in any way by eating two of those.
@trobperry If they have the small rats in stock than I just buy one of the smaller ones in the pack......for some reason no matter if its a rat or mouse, it HAS to be white in order for her to eat it. Strangely enough she doesnt like black or brown ones.....?
@bradalexander1 i have a Red Tail Boa and when she was 24inches i still wasnt feeding her small rats. thats just waaay to big for a snake that size! but im pretty sure he eats em now with no problem
that is way to big for that size ball python. you need to feed it the size of the thickest part of his body not 3times the sizes, its probably dead now!
@theherpderp23 noppers still alive and healthy as ever! I've been feeding him 2 small rats each feeding instead of one larger one....he seems to like it better that way and he gets longer and fatter at the same time that way too :) :)
ppl are stupid,do you think they serve frozen/thawed rats in the wild? the reason for pre killed is so they wont bite the snake not cuz it isnt cruel.this is the way these animals eat in the wild nothing cruel about it.just life get over it
Wow cool. BP rule

Hope you can treat rat bites it will happen with live rats not of question of IF but when
killyoufor20 6 months ago
@killyoufor20 Not if you make sure and handle them responsibily...and dont just go for the grab...if your carefull and responsible than anything you focus on is possible, including not being bitten by a RAT!

i hate when people feed there snake frozen thawed food, i feed mine live food ONLY, just like he would get it in the wild.
i love how hayze gave the mouse a big ass hug right away. mine does the same thing, such a loving animal. take care.

@rob1upon1gsxr1000 you only feed live, you love watching them suffer deep down dont you.

not judging you......but two small rats in one feeding isnt healthy for your snake at all....he might be ok now but its gonna fuck him up later.....im jus sayin......
trobperry 7 months ago
@trobperry Sorry I mis-typed in my last reply....if Soldans is out of small rats I will feed Hayze (2) Mice which are REALLLLY SMALL compared to what she's used to eating each week. So I'm pretty sure it's okay and not harming or endangering her in any way by eating two of those.
bradalexander1 7 months ago
@trobperry If they have the small rats in stock than I just buy one of the smaller ones in the pack......for some reason no matter if its a rat or mouse, it HAS to be white in order for her to eat it. Strangely enough she doesnt like black or brown ones.....?
bradalexander1 7 months ago
@bradalexander1 i have a Red Tail Boa and when she was 24inches i still wasnt feeding her small rats. thats just waaay to big for a snake that size! but im pretty sure he eats em now with no problem

that is way to big for that size ball python. you need to feed it the size of the thickest part of his body not 3times the sizes, its probably dead now!
theherpderp23 8 months ago
@theherpderp23 noppers still alive and healthy as ever! I've been feeding him 2 small rats each feeding instead of one larger one....he seems to like it better that way and he gets longer and fatter at the same time that way too :) :)
thanx for watching!

ppl are stupid,do you think they serve frozen/thawed rats in the wild? the reason for pre killed is so they wont bite the snake not cuz it isnt cruel.this is the way these animals eat in the wild nothing cruel about it.just life get over it
xXjsrn420Xx 8 months ago
My ball will eat pre-killed, bit it took a year before he did that and sometimes he's like fuck it, I want the live one.
RodriquezLopezC 9 months ago
mine will only eat live mice. She's also about the same size but will not eat rats I have to feed her like 6 or 7 mice in a row.
billy3287480 11 months ago

musicman778 1 year ago
@sneed624 ya my python is like 6ft long and a rat bit his ass
ChrisAR7 1 year ago
You're digusting. Snakes will eat food that's pre-killed. Why do you have to let an animal suffer?

@EgyptianRaaniye Please don't make a comment about something you have no knowledge of. Some snakes will ONLY eat live.
