Beginning of early 80's they had everything(?) computerized at Arrrivals. It used to take about an hour to get thru evrything, but after computerizing it took 3 hours and plus to pass the passport control and the custom. Hopefully things have changed. :)

I just got back from egypt on 9/29/08,I was at the Cairo airport and it was not that crazy!,not to say that once I left the airport the traffic wasn't CRAZY!! The egyptians just drive they don't follow any rules, THEY JUST GO! The Egyptian people are funny,I had the best trip of my life. Cairo never sleeps,there is always life and action no matter what time of day or night!There are more people and cars in cairo then NEW YORK.

They aren't going to demolish it..... They give terminal 2 a huge upgrade like Terminal 1 in 2003... terminal 2 is going to be a kind of extension of the new terminal 3. They are also going to build a monorail between T1 en T2&T3, A huge Parking garage for Terminal 2 & 3, New ATC Tower and a 4th Runway which can handle the A380.... Cairo airport is improving very fast! Which is GREAT!
U guys know that this terminal will be wither demolished or renewed, and it will be replaced by another terminal (3) which is built right in front of this one.
I've seen a part of the new terminal being built, but I had no idea that they would tear down this one... This is so sad, I have some memories in there, I hope hey don't demolish it...
I remember that day when i arrived and my father was waiting for me. im going back there this yr cant wait. singapore airlines Boeing 777-200ER cant wait. !!!!!!!!!
