  • Thats filmed in Rotorua for sure ay brew! The B Boys, RATM and Cypress Hill were my first CDs when I was 12!!! I've never seen this video before and I like it, but if you havent seen Pink Floyd's Live at Pompeii make like Fatboy Slim and 'check it now!'...

  • Im 15 and i was the only kid at my school who knew who the Beastie Boys where. I would listen to them in the hall way and people would over hear the music and ask me who it was. long story short most kids at my school are obsessed to the Beastie Boys

  • i think this song should be 15 min long so i dont have to hit repeat 5 times.

  • Rape vevo

  • I think its like a bass duet and drums that got them on...plus lots of cowbell.

  • I think they sound like Rage Against the Machine when they play instruments.

  • started off as a punk rock band

  • sooooo gooood

  • was this video shot in New Zealand by anychance??

  • EARLY 90'S BEASTIE BOYS, MOST UNIQUE MUSIC EVER..what other old-school hip-hop band ACTUALLY PLAYS THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS, WHILE RAPPING AT THE SAME TIME?? GENIUS, GENIUS,GENIUS...... FUCKING GENIUS.....BEST RAP ALBUM OF THE 90'S, BEST ROCK ALBUM OF THE 90'S...

  • how old was keannu reves on this video? lol XDDDDD

  • i listen to beastie boys all day every day and i never get bored

  • Pink Floyd Homage, thanks Beastie, I extend my gratitude.

  • And Eminem makes it straight to BET before Beastie?......What a backwards ass world.....

  • Interesting tribute to Pink Floyd. :)

  • Anyone know if they got the actual amps from Pink Floyd in Pompei?

  • @smellyc It is quite possible the bass rig is an original since its two Altec PA bins and Pink Floyd used/owned many of that particular type. So there were probably plenty around for them to source for this video.

  • @smellyc

I've heard that when the Floyd wanted to sell some of their old stuff in the 1980s, the Beastie Boys did indeed get some of their equipment. So those just might well be the originals.

  • Bass fuzz

  • fuck vevo

  • @catfish5544 ad block. get it.

  • @catfish5544 First off..this is EMI. Second, theres no profanity, so they didnt block anything. So why are you complaining?

  • mutha fucker unnnnnderstand????????

  • best era for BB

  • Anyone know who's playing the bongos? Money Mark is on keys, but the guy playing bongos I can't place...

  • @altair82481 pretty sure it's eric bobo on percussion.

  • @misterbizzones nope thats not bobo on percussion, even though he was Beastie's percussionist for years, that is actually AWOL, the drummer they used to bring on tour when they'd play their hardcore songs that mike D sings on.

  • @panrick cool, thanks.

  • This was indeed filmed in Rotorua, New Zealand in 1992, hence the reason the kangaroo is weird. When the video came out people freaked because they had just gone to thermal park and shot the video. They were lucky--that pool they are filming in front of is unstable (it crumbles away) and is prone to blasting super heated water out with no warning. The local authority said they would never have let them film there for their own safety if they had asked.

  • @Captaincalc1 I'm kiwi bro, Kangaroo comment was a dig at the aussies... Yeah now you mention it def looks like a health and safety issue here. If it's not the sudden blast from the pool/geyser theres always the sulphur fumes or pits of bubbling mud to content with! Sick tune.

  • @Captaincalc1 I love it when someone who knows something about the background of a video chimes in. I've had the impression that the Kiwis are generally pretty Libertarian - so maybe the Beasties didn't think they needed to ask?

  • @RVAepiphanyseeker libertarian? maybe--NZers don't like being told where they can go and what they can do if that's what you mean. So you're probably right--the local council was probably more interested in the welfare of the geyser than in the band!!

  • @Captaincalc1 Hah! I love that "more interested in the welfare of the geyser ..." EXcellent!

  • the sound of that bass guitar is very effective in this song

  • If you haven't watched the film this video is a parody of, you should do so now... it's on youtube for free and it's called "Pink Floyd Live at Pompeil" The B-Boys even obtained some of the same equipment used in the original.

  • like this song soo much its got a really catchy rythme

  • Adam seems high! haha xD

  • @CristJianZild there's two adam's

  • @Tonnracha troll, you are so weak and obvious... why bother. Just go cry to your mommy again that no one shows you any attention... little baby... boo hoo hoo. No one cares.

  • Looks like this video was filmed in New Zealands own, smelly ol' Rotorua!? Gratitude! Shame the short clip at 2.41 spoils the video a bit. ;)

  • Beastie Boys awesome as always.

  • I have to watch this and Pink Floyd's video as a part of an assignment for my class on Pompeii. Best thing ever; this song is from my favorite Beastie Boys album <3

  • @PiratePenguin Wait, how does this song fit in with Pompeii?

  • @MrFishyKnickers Look up Pink Floyd's Echoes live at Pompeii. This video makes reference to it.

  • @PiratePenguin Sweeeeet, will do. My Floyd knowledge is far too small.

  • Pink Loyfd

  • MCA had the coolest red pumas in that video. I now own a pair myself. AND THAT'S RIGHT !

  • The Pompeii reference haha!

  • Check out the video to Pink Floyd's Echoes filmed for Live at Pompeii for all the various references. This video is very much an homage to that movie.

  • I just love his face, its funny and awesome at the same time :P

  • I didn't know these guys play instruments Haha

  • @Looktowardsthesky yeah they started as punk rock band

  • a 40 second unskippable saturdays video, this is an insult

  • Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Lets not forget to express our "Gratitude" to our family and friends.

  • Mainstream music might suck these days but since we have the internet, us young people find good music that way. There isn't any bands like Nirvana or Beastie Boys anymore, bands that are known by everyone. Instead we just have every subculture listening to their own music. MTV doesn't play music and the radio is outdated. Pandora and youtube probably have more impact now. To claim all young people listen to shit music is ignorant, perhaps you rely too much on the radio and mainstream.

  • @sirsquiggly SOMEONE SPEAKS THE TRUTH. FINALLY.

  • @sirsquiggly Very astute observation right there. It will take a while for acts to go mainstream, but when you think about it, it took Depeche Mode and The Cure nearly ten years into their careers when they hit mainstream. Problem is that not many record companies are supportive of bands and artists like back in te 70's. 80's and early 90's. Lables drop acts very quickly if they do not make gold or plantinium. However technology is slowly side stepping record labels. Peace...

  • @sirsquiggly there are bands but there hard to find just go to the big cities

  • @sirsquiggly Agreed, But do remember that the Bestie Boys are still making music.

  • @sirsquiggly amen

  • @sirsquiggly What's pandora?

  • @sirsquiggly

    Amen

  • i love how beastie boys make punk and hip hop

  • @aldovanopdorp i love how the bronx make hardcore punk and mariachi.

  • AdRock was so cute in this video <3 it's the hair and the hat that does it.

  • this music should be LONGER

  • SUBJECT [12] [TRACK2] Original song

  • All they need now is a 20 minute long instrumental, and you might fool me into thinking this is a modern Pink Floyd.

  • live at pompei

  • if i could..

  • Somebody, please punch Justin Bieber in the face.

  • right right now now hear it right now

  • @adoll000 Nick Mason? Well it might be since Nick's drumming is more peaceful in some songs... But songs like Saucerfull of Secrets... he gets possessed by the spirit of Keith Moon..

  • Best group ever.

    -Suburban 14 year old.

  • needs more cowbell

  • fuck these advertisements!

  • The still of this video in the side panel is what caught my attention haha...I was listening to Paul Revere.

  • 11 people are complete wastes of life !!!

  • is that money mark with the long as hair on keyboards? LOL!

  • the viking in the ad says he bates cyclops...

  • WAH-WAH-CHIKI-WAH-WAH...

  • what the shit face is on the left?????

  • they're in rotorua nz . instead of pompei the way that pink floyd did echoes

  • Ad-Rock rocks it freakin hard on this one-i remember playin this so loud and hard in my bedroom as a kid when the folks were out. takes me wayyy back when.

  • Random kangaroo at the end.

so,i am kind of teenager,15,but i listen to daftpunk, beatie boys and bloodhound gang))

  • @bebeha09 thats nice dude but that "im 12-and-listen-to-the clash-and rolling stones" sucks

  • @looneyleprachaun Yeah this 17yo kid is listening to this "crap" :P

  • @looneyleprachaun im 16. I listen to sublime, fugazi, the clash, beastie boys, and bad brains. (those are just my favorites)

  • @jbrowning134 try the Minutemen. Double nickels on the Dime. You'll thank me, =^D

  • @handymandan100 Your right man, i downloaded it and its amazing! probably one of the best albums ive ever heard. corona is the jackass theme song. and history lesson- part II was sampled in a sublime song called "waiting for my ruca"

  • @jbrowning134 YeP! haha, awesome! glad to help, bro! I'm glad you took my suggestion! I remember I was instantly impressed with Sublime back when i heard that sample ;^) Keep checkin' into 'em, they have some full ep's posted on You Tube, a little rougher and rawer but just as awesome.. godspeed!

  • @looneyleprachaun Don't think like that . Ye maybe most of them do , but on the other hand most of them hate crap today music . . . :)

  • @looneyleprachaun Hey, ho, slow down. There some kids like me, a 13 year old boy, who like Pearl Jam, NIRVANA ALL THE WAY TO THE MOON, soundgarden, beastie boys, cydney lauper, the OLD green day, oh, and quiet riot, twisted sister, and the statler brothers.

  • @MrMotocross675 check out fugazi

  • @looneyleprachaun

Yeah, i believe that music will slowly die, and in the brink of destruction, someone will take the responsibility to introduce a Renaissance of fucking awesome music, and we will live in the age of Disco, Rock and Old-School Rap again.

Kinda like Justice has contributed with Cross and all their remixes and productions, I place them on the same level I value Beethoven, Bach, Haydn and so forth.

I mean, those guys get it. Ed Banger Records ftw

  • Yeeeeaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what thee fuck he smoke jah
