A Sennheiser e609. It's actually silver, the light level is just overblown on the camera. There's another one sitting to the left of it with the black face up. They do that to help you easily distinguish between front and back since it is a "side addressing" microphone. There's even a "front" label to further distinguish the two correct orientation. People still get it backwards though... :(
Finally... Glad to hear someone explain what I've been screaming all these years. Don't ruin the drum kit with over EQing, I always tell people to EQ the mic not the drums!
