  • Ï"m glad that I was born in 1959

  • All hail 4 da best Adultswim show evah!

  • I'll be honest. I never heard of this band or song until I heard if from a cartoon (superjail)

but I really like this song :D

  • @manice08 SUPERJAIL FOR THE WIN!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i wasnt born untill 1983 i still think this is a great tune

  • What chords are being played By Lol Creme?

I'd love to play this song on the guitar

  • Cool the guy moving the smart cam at 2:24 :)

  • Wish to have that lightblue waistcoat

  • Now I know where the movie ''No Country for Old Men'' got inspired for the haircut ! Great clip and NO LIPSYNCH ...Hurrayyyyy !!!!!

  • wow eric stewarts vocal's are weak on this, compared to the studio version. fun rave-up at the end, its true.

"GUTS' and chains. guess balls weren't invented in '74 on t.v.

  • @spamfighter Lol Creme is the lead vocalist on this!!

  • Nuts and Chains ??? LOL

    Love the jam also...

  • Cant wait to see these tonight at the Sunderland Airshow Launch :)

  • All multi instrumentalists, I saw Graham Gouldman in concert with Paul Burgess and guitarist Rick Fenn as Graham Gouldman's 10cc. I think that Graham has the rights to use 10cc's name, but what about Godley and Creme can they still perform 10cc songs if they play live?

  • one of the most underrated bands and I hate to say that because it means these guys didn't get what they deserved, the right finance, the right exposure and all because the British audience recognizes the x factor as talent, when they have the use of songs from guys like these who worked so hard to achieve less than they deserve. Great band nothing more than the best

  • That outro is amazing. They really were out of the very top drawer.

  • Thought for a minute that was Dave Hill from Slade on second drum kit with that hair lol!

  • Ha Ha Ha check out 3:20 for the word change. They had to substitute "nuts" for "balls" which kinda ruins the sense of that line......

    "BALLS!"

  • @Torahboy1 i like how one of them just sings "balls" anyway :P

  • Great stuff!

  • SUPERJAIL!

  • These guys are great. They sound exactly the same live as on the record.

  • Aged 15 in the Hammersmith Odeon I thought this was the greatest guitar solo ever. I was probably wrong!

  • for all UK students.....!!!!

  • moodies play live with two drummers and so has ringo in the past

    (with Zak Starkey )

  • My name is Lol too

  • Great song this - great band as well.

  • whoops weren't supposed to say 'balls' on air graham. think someone forgot the change of lyrics doing the backing vocals@3:24

  • Cool WAH on the bass! ☺

  • @teeKeri Graham Gouldman was and still is good to see live.

  • i went to a party at the local county jail! but they make it sound good! u have to go to football to have a tear gas of a time nowadays! bristol rovers fc.....

  • two drummers? lol

  • When I was a kid, maybe 9 or 10 years old, odd cirucmstances resulted in my being forced to listen to my older brothers' album collections. When no one else I knew even gave a shit about music, I was hearing - every day - Steely Dan, Focus, Todd Rundgren, Beatles, and these guys.

This kind of music changed my life because it exposed my to musicianship and story-telling, as opposed to just pop hits or drug-induced rubbish. Thanks for posting this. It brings back allot of great memories.

  • @vinnycriss Todd Rungermann? Now THAT'S osbcure.

  • @zapkvr Not obscure at all. He was pretty popular in the 70's and eighties. Just not among kids my age at the time. My point was I was lucky to get exposed to such great music at such a young age. Now when i hear it I like it even more.

  • @vinnycriss He had one minor (annd I do mean minor) hit in Australia, Can we still be friends. The only other reference I ever heard of him in popular culture was when the "kids" on That 70s show were trying to go to one of his concerts. I know its common to think that whatever is popular in the U.S. has an impact worldwide. Let me assure you, that is NOT the case especially in relation to Mr Rungerman. He wasn't even as popular as The Tubes.

  • @vinnycriss its what YouTube is for: to bring back those epic moments of the heroes. I love 10CC and G&C for decades and now is the first moment to see them live! I adore and its funny to see that noone in the audience seems to catch this great moment ...

  • I just did a Facebook ap that finds the Number 1 in the pop charts on the day of your birth. I got this. WIN

  • One of the all time great pop groups, what a talented bunch of musicians and songwriters....Sheet Music is one of the best albums for me. Saw them live in '74 in Paignton and were just superb. What a great voice Kevin Godley has...

  • some good ol' rock n roll

wish there was music like this around today

  • clap clap clap clap muy buena buenisima

  • 5****** love it!

  • Is "nuts" any TV-friendlier than "balls"?

  • man, i love this song as much as anyone possibly can, but that part with the drummer is too much on mushrooms. you just see a greg wynne look-alike with the voice of an 8 year old girl coming out, and you can't help but laugh.

  • 2 drummers? Very strange. Any info?

  • I saw them in 74 and they were brilliant. Is it my imagination or is Lol singing a bit flat here?

  • @dotcaster I noticed that too

  • Comment removed

  • These are the guys that kicked off the whole Manchester music scene. - way before Joy Division & The Smiths & The Stone Roses & Oasis. They paved the way for everyone that came after them. They built the first commercial recording studio ever to be set up in the UK outside of London. It was in Stockport and it's still there to this day. Stawberry Studios was used by Paul McCartney to record one of his earlier albums after he left the Beatles.

  • uncle sam does belong in the excercise yard!!!!

  • my very first 7" single, still love this song

  • nice bum shot and im a girl just incase you were thinking

  • what ever happened with these guys??

  • that drummer is sitting on his own balls.

  • 4 musical geniuses in one band - the real deal.

  • And then Geddy Lee joined Rush and the rest is rock and roll history.

  • Yeah typical BBC, can't use the word "balls" but "nuts" is ok.

  • @veda1954 What a lot of Bollocks! lol

  • How bout that 2 or 3 minute guitar jam they just kinda throw in at the end,

a real band that can really play. Son of a gun eh?

  • pretty hot live jam... what a reserved audience! Great sound though for this far back, I would have thought the vocals would be tough to duplicate from the LP... on a kick tonight and I have to say that mark I of this band was the SHIT! Great live band especially.

  • Two drummers o.o

  • Singing, under BBC pressure, "We all got nuts and brains / But some's got nuts and chains" simultaneous with singing the uncensored "balls and chains" is an especially wry inside joke, given the not-so-subtle backup vocal "brawling" over "balling in the streets." Not to be indiscreet. . . .

  • I always thought this would be a good song for a Police Academy film LOL.

  • was there a full vid to this show?

  • somebody post "Don't Hang Up`` puhleez!!!

  • @59simonh I agree.

  • gold lol :)

  • The worst band in the world but I don't give a shit, and neither do they.

  • @FritzOmnibus "The worst band in the world"

    Pretty broad statement right there.

  • @robosteven Yes and these BBC clips are my favorite of 10cc.

  • @FritzOmnibus I don't know where it's from, but that version of The Dean and I is just fucking wonderful.

  • GOOD OLE 10-CC CLASSIC

  • The yhit plain truth:

Some have balls and brains ,others balls and chains and want to trample underfoot your brain ,by working on your nerves.

Men ,with nerves worked on too hard by all the dangerous ones and for all the wrong reasons? They ACT.

    10cc?

  • My fav 10cc song, it's got swing in spades!

  • The singer looks like dragon forces guitarist, with out the ahir that is

  • I once passed Eric Stewart in the street and was surprised how small he was. The others must be midgets. Superb live sound though.

  • @safeway56 Yes, they were all midgets.

  • @FritzOmnibus ...all midgets?... Hmmm... I think Paul Burgess would disagree with that.

  • Superb! Thanx for sharing 5/5

Also, I was very impressed at the rigid control of the audience! Saw just one guy tapping his foot. presumably he was taken out and shot! X¬D

  • @wordreet LOL A LOT

  • @wordreet: i think public flogging was the penalty for foot tapping actually, and if you mouth the words they use the hot bucket and rats method.

  • @PooPoo2U Hot rats?? HAhahaha!

  • @wordreet , Hahaha

  • @wordreet ROFWL!

  • this is when music meant something

  • who's the other drummer?

  • Paul Burgess

  • how come I can't get "Don't hang up" on youtube anymore?

  • I remember listening to "The Original Soundtrack" when I was seven or eight, big-ass headphones on my parents' stereo! Loved "Film Of My Love" -- so ironic.

Have they ever explained why they always had so many American references in their songs?

  • @eustonstn I think they were influenced a lot by Hollywood films, hence the American references. Godley has said something about how they were basically frustrated filmmakers playing music (probably more applicable on the Godley/Creme side).

  • @eustonstn Because they (Godley/Creme) were frustrated filmmakers and obviously watched a lot of Hollywood films. Hence all the American references.

  • The BBC made Lol sing "nuts and chains", but if you listen closely you can hear Eric and Graham rebel and sing "balls and chains" in the background.

  • wow, awesome jaming-part at the end...oh god they sound so awesome!

  • Quality. Practically everything they wrote was unique and themed. Stories of colds and flu, a plane crash, marriage agencies and even a song with the lyrics being the chords being played. Just stunning. 10CC´s recordings are still among those I listen to regularly. Simply put, when the music is great, you never ever tire of it.

  • Aye right Pat

  • Lol C great lyrics , too !

    //

  • ive taken part in a party at the local county jail, the guards very kindly brought us in tequilla whisky and coca cola we had slammers and sat locked in our cells playing cards, luckily i had managed to arrange a ghetto blaster...didnt have much music to choose from, but i did have underworlds dub no bass wiv me head man ,,nice one ,a big thanx to all concerned officials at mapusa judicial lock up in goabin there done that dont wanna do it again....more later

  • Love that 2 -2 .5 min jam there at the end.

  • ahha lol creme looks like he would do coke :] just saying

  • that is awesome! rare to find a non overdub. This was the real thing! this was on one of my first albums when I was 12. good memories. thanks for posting! MM

  • i wish my name was LOL thats too cool hahaha

  • lol is short for lawrence

  • @KreamandCrime I too wish my name was Lol...

  • @KreamandCrime But imagine what it would be like if Mr Creme had to send email condolences to someone about a friend who just died; "so sorry to hear about your tragic loss. LOL." Wouldn't go down well!

  • @astrophonix Good point lol.

  • @KreamandCrime As somebody's already said elsewhere, it would make it hard to post comments of sympathy on Facebook.

  • @KreamandCrime I wish my name was LMAO...

  • Bands today just can't rock like this!!

  • this song would have to be one of the very best in this world ever release 100/100 love it

  • this sond one of the very best in this world love it so much

  • These guys were not only individually and collectively talented, but they could rock out too.

  • Class, thanks for the up-load!

  • What memories I just say it :-)

  • This reached No2 in 1974.. I stand to be corrected on that.. As a resident in Northern Ireland at the time, and still, I believe that both sides adopted the song as an anthem.. I'm sure that 10cc never meant it for UK praise, hence the "local county" and "Sherriff" refrences..

    Little did we know..

  • I laughed my ass off when I found out where the bands name supposedly came from. The average man ejaculates 9cc . Hence 10CC : )

  • Actually, the band got its name from Jonathan King who said he'd had a dream of a band he'd signed making number one in the charts, and the bands name in his dream was 10cc.

Funnily enough, Jonathan King was also the one who gave Genesis the idea for their name.

  • @degree7 I was once told that 10cc (being a measure of capacity) is the average amount of sperm a man produces in a life time. I guess I was misinformed :(

  • So did I, but some quick research says otherwise.

  • @Earlzo90 So did i, Is that how Loving Spoonful got there name!?

  • FACT: No-one laughed out loud before the singer of this band came along and created an appropriate unguent.

  • lol, pun intended

  • LOL ;)

  • Its 7 years since I heard this.

  • I was 7 when i first heard this...and loved it

  • your 7 year old son has musical taste...nurture him:)

  • 10cc are great-says my 7 yr old son Jack

  • The best band in the world - years ahead of their time - why is audience so static!!

  • 10cc..As good as it gets.

  • Very well thought our lyrics....to bad Rock has been brain dead for the past years.......Gaba gaba hey!

  • lol sorry i know it's a bit late to say thanks to HALIDAYINN for your info on where i can find the track GIZMO MY WAY !! cheers mate your a star thanks again

  • I recall seeing this on BBC2 when it was broadcasted originally. I loved this band., so much talent. Which member of the band married the other's sister? This is what I read a while back.

  • Lol Creme married the sister of Eric Stewart's wife.

  • Thanks for that. I sometimes wonder if there was a permenant falling out between the band as Godley and Creme stopped working with each other, Gouldman was once asked if there would ever be a reunion and he said "No". Although Godley and Gouldman did recorded together again, some time ago.

  • hard to believe this band turned into godley and creme...

  • what a great band, fantastic songs, theres something happening with 10cc.s music its starting to wake up after sleeing for years!.i

think the critics got it wrong again to ignore them

  • one of my favorite bands of all time...so underappreciated..graham gouldman wrote so many classic rock songs...these guys dont have a bad song..

  • wtf two drummers?

  • awesome... almost like a way of getting yourself a wall of sound for a concert i suppose.

  • fuck that! the bloody tv corporates made them change balls and brains to nuts and brains. look at that uptight croud crowd, its a shame

  • Sounds like The Jail House Rock lol lol

  • Fook yeah! I love this song!

  • gosh, 10cc is awesome!

  • XD im listening to this for more than 3 hours :O I THINK IM UNDER INFLUINCE OF SOMETHING XD

  • how do they do that sound with the guitar?

    wacauru wacauru wacauru

  • They put the bass guitar through a wah pedal. Check Graham's right foot at around 2:20

  • that is correct, thanks. Thats what makes a rock band great. Different kinds of voices and good arrangements

  • Good Ol Rock N' Roll

  • ew. i remember them better. guess my memory is failing. their album was 'bloody tourists', right?

  • good band got an album 10cc 100cc theres a track on it called cosmo myway trying to get hold of it on cd no joy shame

  • The tracks called "Gizmo my way" and is available on the remastered version of "Sheet Music"

  • I saw 10cc a few times in the seventies and this was always the encore, with the long work-out at the end. Haven't heard it since then! Thanks for posting!

  • jagdpanther1944 ,

LOL, Yea your right, must be a british audience, they are so polite!

  • yeah your right cnj lol the lead singer had it wrong good observation by the way

  • shit! i just realized when he says "some got NUTS and chains" it should be "some got BALLS and chains" listen to the backup singers

    3:23

  • Who is the lead singer on this? I thought Gould and Stewart did all the leads?

  • Lol Creme

  • I saw you in Stuttgart Porsche Olide Night 2009

    Thanks

    great

  • Class, saw them at cardiff Castle years ago, at least i think it was Cardiff. top band.

  • some Quo riffs there!

  • just a couple of footnotes.

Eric Stewart=formerly of Wayne Fontana & the Mindbenders, then The Mindbenders who had a huge hit with 'Groovy Kind Of Love'

Graham Gouldman=wrote 'Bus Stop',&'Look Through Any Window' for The Hollies.

    a band with pedigree indeed.

  • it must be dispiriting to play this good, and just have a load of blow-up dolls in the audience

  • Aye. Awesome drumming :-D

  • they were super-glued to their seats....like Japanese audience

  • Boogie rock in the best shine....<3<3<3

  • and on a side note: fuck the crowd. how can you watch these guys rock out and just sit there?

  • it's hard to believe these guys spun off into godley and creme. badass rock music turned soft new wave? i'm down

  • Have not heard this one in a while. Great band with a unique sound!

  • Everything before the four minute mark is bouncy fun; everything past the four minute mark is damn spectacular.

  • 10cc were a great band, good old stompin song this one.

  • Drummer singing? Don't see that much anymore!

  • Ramones loved these cats.

  • ashtons finest ......

  • Used to be known as 'Hotlegs'

  • The only diffrence between 10cc and Hotlegs is that Graham wasn't in Hotlegs. But as far as i know he played bass on "Today"

  • Awesome clip!

  • the fuzz on the solo is just pure bliss. thick and creamy like an overpriced starbucks frappucino!

  • great song

  • Great band, with great music, Met them in Aberdeen,Scotland, Original line up, in 1976.

  • Whatcha gonna do about it, whatcha gonna do

Whatcha gonna do about it, whatcha gonna do
