  • I put this song on my "labor playlist". I've alway loved VM but this song wasn't necessarily my favorite. HOWEVER.....I only remember ONE song from my whole labor with my son.......this one. It's been 3 years and I'm just realizing why THIS was the song that rang through.... "Sweet Thing" will probably always be my favorite but this is also a TRULY a divine gift.

  • Every song on this album is a masterpiece.

  • This song is very flattering to a woman like myself. :)

  • May I recommend the book 'A Pop Revolution, the transatlantic music scene 1965 to 1969' by the invisible man. The author is a big fan of this track.

  • Una miscela di emozioni fluisce e raggiunge la mente e il cuore di chi l'ascolta!

  • One needs no drug enhancement to fully enjoy the music of Mr. Morrison. Thanks for the beautiful trip Van.

  • The whole album is delightful. No. No. It is brilliant. No, no, no, no. There is no word to describe its perfection, so I am forced to make one up. And I'm going to do so right now. Scrumtrilescent.

  • I cannot say Van was born with looks... but....he sure can sing.

  • arousing

  • best song ever

  • I am sixteen and my dad played Van Morrison throughout my childhood, but I never knew the song or album titles and I forgot tunes and lyrics as I grew. There is absolutely nothing comparable to hearing beautiful songs like this again, and having memories and happiness flood back to you, it makes me want to cry. I love you, Van <3

  • @2404julia nice pst i understand you have great taste for someone your age

  • @2404julia Dear Julia, I'll never be sixteen again, nor sixty, but you're so,so spot on. I used to play this incredible song for my daughter. In fact played the entire album, over and over and over. And I still do. Van Morrison is the dream maker personified.

  • i will be forever grateful that this album was made during my lifetime...

  • i'm going to sleep listening to this song...guaranteed sweet dreams...good night every body. Peace

  • @grailph Beautiful choice for a "Good Night" song.

  • Van is the bomb and a brilliant thoughtful musician. I tried to find him this on youtube a year ago before I bought the CD Astral Weeks. I'm so happy that others can here him here now..

  • it is so fucking beautiful thanks vm

  • Alright. Confess: How many of you freaks know every single utterance and breath of this album?

  • @StLennyBruce yes I do - I have the whole of this on my phone and No Method as well and one of the best of albums too .... I need it!

  • @StLennyBruce it may be interesting for all these freaks to meet - i know there is at least one nobel prize winner and macarthur 'genius' award winner in this group

  • @StLennyBruce easy does it ur doin the breathin for it. we all like to breath brucey boy 'we dont' wana know', but there is a little lyric missing for the freakless one's~ and you St bruce." let's dance "

  • are there words to define this?

  • Genius. Nothing else to say.

  • @apowell65 another reason for so few hits? i've been looking for this on YouTube for years, just a few days ago i entered it in 'search' and came up with nothing. THen 20 or so minutes later stumbled on it from another page wtf soooo, in answer to your question ... it's a bastard conspiracy! : -( oh, a PS there are now just over 19,000 hits (4 weeks after your post) : -) and a PPS huge thanks to SpaceOdyssee0 for posting this *applauds*
  • Why are there only 13, 813 hits for such brilliance? I wonder how many hits minnows like Robbie Williams get.

  • @apowell65

because most of us have purchased Astral Weeks old and new by now, and everything else that hes done and we can get our hands on ;)

  • ...i love when artists make a play on words for somebody and some body, costello does it in 'Allison' as well....

  • The best single vocal performance in Rock history.

  • @DavidMJordan that's a mighty claim but i would have nothing to refute it with

  • he can do it all.....I have even heard him yodel in a vid.....and he really could do a great job! Just a MASTER! With deepest respect to you Mr. Morrison!

  • "FLY IT, SIGH IT, TRY IT...

    WELL, I MAY BE WRONG...

BUT SOMETHING DEEP IN MY HEART TELLS ME I'M RIGHT

AND I DON'T THINK SO" ...that this phenominal song and album, Astral Weeks, is nothing short of poetic brilliance... from begining to end. Thank You Van... for allowing me to "spread my wings and fly a while..." everytime I hear this masterpiece...

  • @6ixtymiles ilove the way music moves people .nicely put

  • What I grew up on. Magic. Delighted to be able to listen to it here. I have all the albums. I remember many a beautifully stoned day listening to Van the Man. I can close my eyes and I'm transported back 30 yrs.

  • thank u so much

  • Near perfect in feel and soul - no one matches The Belfast lad for this feel.

  • Writer Brian Hinton says of the recording: "If anyone ever argues that Morrison cannot sing — an unlikely scenario anyway — then simply play them this. All human emotion is crystallised here, and subtly vocalised: desire, joy, hope, world weariness, consolation, awe and anticipation."

  • @AORfantasy Great quote, beautifully sums up the way Van Morrison delivers this song

  • @AORfantasy Man! that was indeed beautifully put.....

I can't describe how enchanting this whole album is to me....

... no one has got anywhere near it...

    ...it is truly heavenly!

  • @AORfantasy , Exactly !

  • @AORfantasy The first album I ever bought... it taught me love, pain, heartache - good and bad -, the art of raw yet fragile music, how to give your ALL to the world just because it deserves it, and how you should try to feel what others do... I was a ballerina at the time. Thanks for your note! BgM

  • Sensational

  • beautiful

  • One of my all time favourite albums, wonderful .....

  • WHAT A SONG AND DANCE! I DO SO LOVE IT. WAS IT NOT THE FIRST SONG FOR HIM?

  • covek je car!
