  • That's a Chevy first try hahaha but I got the 1988 ford ranger and that's just like me hahaha I stay at one long ass mud pit and just go back and farther till I get stuck or I think my truck is muddy enuff

  • I want that truck! Lol nice truck man! Yee haw from the backwoods of Florida!

  • Question. I have an 88 Ranger XLT, when I shift it into four-wheel high it doesn't feel like the front wheels are pulling however I can drop it into four-wheel low and they spin perfectly. What could be the problem? Should I shift into second to use high or do I need to be moving or what??? Someone please help!

  • @puredrummer93 if either one of the high or low range 4x4 work it work for both ways. unless you have a electronic 4x4. mine is a lever on the floor. if you have the lever on the floor the bushing might be worn out on the bottom of the shifter ( under the cab bolted to the transmission if my memory is right)

  • Wooo! Canadian Army, kick some ass boiiiii

  • Didn't think canadians bought farm trucks :P

  • @xRAWSAWx that all we got ;)

  • LMFAO

  • I love my ex. so far the only downside is no v8. I keep up with my buddies who have lifts. We might have the same gear ratios not sure. I know my trans is from a newer one with a shift kit.

  • nice! i really like your roll bar, i see them on a lot of other rangers but i cant seem to find them for sale. can you help me out? thanks.

  • @hunter95959 the rool bar and front brush guard are ford ranger options. if you can find a ranger STX they usaly have these on. and the stx ranger also have special brakets to lift your truck a 1-2 inch more as the stx was higher than other rangers

  • i love the rangers and explorers. Dana 35 front ford 8.8 rear is what the first generation ( 91-94) explorers run also. too bad you didnt live in my area. I live in western washington. nice truck though

  • @thomasmcmullen06 yup was a nice truck but was quite a rust bucket too lol i now have a 94 ranger ext cab 4x4, running thoses rear ends. but i got 3:27 gears, hate them with a passion but at least the 4.0L got enought power to make the job done

  • First On Race Day

  • looks like someone needs cab mounts lol. my 86 ranger's cab sagged just like that ones, but just like yours, mine would go through almost anything I threw at it

  • @Z3CHYD i needed a new cab lol. the tranny tunnel on the truck was the only thing holding the whole thing at place lol. one day the rocker fell and i fix it with sheet metal screw, bug screen and lot of bondo lol. half of the box was bondo honestly lol

  • Screw chevy the rangers are the toughest shit out there, its what i started in and what i still drive 5 years later

  • @nolangreen they are the perfect size i think, big enough to pull out bigger trucks and light enough to play with. i love the 4.0L better than this tired 2.9L, on the video that was first gear low range. my 4.0L can do it on 3rd and sumtimes 4th no problem :)

  • nice...

  • if its a head gasket stay away trust me had an 89 two wheel drive with the 2.9 and a cherrybomb turbo sounded awesome. sold it when i bought my B2 but the reason i sold it was not because it was not fun and the 2.9 has lots of power. my 03 4x4 is awesome and th 4.0 should have no problem turning 31 inch tires thats the stock size on my 03 granted add a 4.10 possi and a dana 35 ifs she will easily turn 31's. any bigger try either a gear change or a V8

  • where did you get that brush.g from i need one

  • @robamust check the junkyard for a ford ranger stx

  • god dam chevys popen lmfao

  • they are the bomb lol

  • Rogersville? Never heard of it, i live in the oromocto area down south of NB.

Nice video, I might buy a 91 soon.

  • yeah rogersville is near the kouchibouguac national park. i sold this one a time ago. i now have an 94 with the 4.0L, way more powerful and better rear ends too. the old one in the video was a dana 28 front 7.5 rear, my 94 has dana 35 front and 8.8 rear.

  • @diftoyota hate to burst your bubble my 03 has a dana 35 front end with a 4.10 posi rear

  • my 94 has the dana 35 front too but have the worst gearing, i have 3.27 :(

  • @diftoyota go to an auburn posi 4.10 they work really well you may have to do some tinkering around but it should slide in if not go find an 03 like mine, MAKE SURE ITS THE FX4 LEVEL 2 and swap the diff it has a torsien 4.10 i had mine changed because i split the damn carrier in half lol. I just had my truck out in the mud for the second time there is finally no snow

  • @67Memphis i think my front dana 35 is not the same as a 03.as your probably have the cb shafts right? i know they stop the i beam model in 97 then was coils or torsions bars.

  • damn i like that ranger i just got an 88 but it looks like crap it was free my uncle lol i hope mine looks like this soon when i get some money ill hook it up do they make snorkel for it

  • @devilarcia you dont need alot of $ i paid 500$ for the truck, spend 80 $ in krylon spray cans and added the tires on and thats it

  • it may just be my straight pipes, but that sounds nothing at all like my 2.9 ranger... and that cant be a stock lift... those tires are bigger than mine and i got a 3" body lift... but then agian, ur tire look crammed in there, lol....

  • the exaust is missing the catalic converter and got a muffler that looks like a glass pack but bigger (no clue what it is lol). it is the stock height except rubber shims in the front coils lol.the tires are 7.00 X 15lt (old bias tires)i think they were close to 30" but way narower din't fit on 8 inch wides, had to find old 6 inches ones. i should writen " almost stock ranger" lol

  • @purpelmunkie i got no lift at all. in fact the cab was rusted so bad it was sagging alot. tires was old bias tires they were equal size of an 31 but narower. it was a size like 7.00x15 sumthig like that. sum odd size for sure, i had tubes in it as they we leaking as they were cracked bad lol

  • I will buy that light bar off you. Let me know how much

  • truck is sold for 800$ over a year ago

  • My 1988 Ford Ranger only has 2wd :(

  • do like i did, i drove an 2wd an wen it went bad i bought a 4x4 one and keeped the 2wd for parts

  • i'm going to be getting a 4.0L engine swap in my 88 ranger soon :) it's got a 9" lift and 31's can't wait!

  • i just bought a 94 ranger and has the 4.0L. man the diference in POWER!!!!!!

  • wats size engine in urs i got a 88' myself mines a 2.9l v-6 4x4

  • mine is also a 2.9L v6,5spd,4x4,has the power lock/windows and optional rear speakers, very rare find on reg cab rangers.

  • Mine too. I got mine for my 12 birthday on saturday and it ran great right off the bat after 10 years of inactivity. We didn't even add any new gas or oil. Just a new battery. I just made a vid about it on my channel. Check it Out! Little rust but me and my uncle are going to be working on it for a while and I'l make another video when we're done.

  • exact same thing has yours

  • I wish my 1988 Ford Ranger had 4 Wheel Drive :(

  • i do...fun fun

  • to me sounds like a good deal,35" seems pretty big for the motor, unless theres a v8 in it,i have 31" and she has lost like 25% of power for shure but i needed the clearence, i just slod my truck for 700$ yesterday.buying a better one this summer i hope :)

  • Im lookin at buyin a '88 Ranger on a 5" skyjacker lift (+3" bodylift) with 35" tires for $600. Needs a tranny (5 speed manual). Deal or no?

  • has to be hillbilly it's a mud truck lmao

  • nice, very hillbilly

  • if she's not too rusty is a pretty good deal.the only problem with these ranger/bronco II is that if you turn real sharp with the 4x4 on it breaks the universal joints or the the end of the front drive shaft.the oil leak is probably the valve cover or the platnum (intake) gaskets. i have that problem and is very comon on these 2.9L. if it sound right for u its a good truck for u.hope you find one or buy the one you have in mind

  • i just bought it, thankx for the info!

  • looks good, got any advise, i'm planning on buying an 1988 ford ranger myself, 204Km, 33inch tires, 6inch lift for 2900$ a bit of oil around the head gasket but not leaking, what do you think?

  • im lookin at the same truck!
