I put it in as number 2, thinking that this is Stevens life and that he is telling us about it, and then he gets home and need caffeine to not fall asleep again. His life is a nightmare for Alice and his dreams are a nightmare for Steven.
@ThePotamotrygon1 Well it can't be track 2 when track 1 is Steven saying his prayers before bed, Alice has also said working a 9-5 office job is his idear of hell, so naturally this song would have taking place once we reach hell, One of the reasons is was cut is probably down to not really knowing were to include it.
@ThePotamotrygon1 Oh i just noticed another reason why it's not pre-nightmare or Stevens life. Remember in Along came a spider he was still in a mental hospital.
@ThePotamotrygon1 Must have done because it's still about Steven. His not just spoken about on the album but theres photos of him on the album sleeve. If they were meant to be different characters I'm sure they would have had different names. Even the song 'Wind-up toy' is about Steven in some kind of mental home. Also W2MN was originally going to be a sequel to Along came a spider so the idea was already there.
@MephProduction if you go to nights with alice cooper and look at the video ask alice volum3 he says that w2mn has nothing to do with along came a spider. He was going to do a sequel to along came a spider called the nightshif, but then he and bob ezrin desided to do w2mn instead
@ThePotamotrygon1 I know that, what I'm saying is the character of Steven (and it IS the same character) has been in a mental hospital. we know this from the albums From the inside, spider and the song Wind up toy. so he would have had a day job, Plus it's coopers idea of hell so the song HAS to take place in the Nightmare.
@Ironheade712 Alice has already spoken how 'a bad situation' would be his idea of hell, He does NOT live that life, he doesn't have a 9-5 job. The album is about Alice's nightmares... that would be a nightmare. So in terms of the story is has to take place in the nightmare not before. Plus you would've say your prayers before going to work and this would suck if it was the opening song.
Thanks for sharing this tune, I got the deluxe edition and this song isn't on it , got 4 bonus tracks Under the Bed and Poison, No More Mr. Nice Guy, The Black Widow (live). This song is cool. ~ `Rocker
@highwayrobberyrocker This tune is a vinyl only release from I've read/seen so far. I could be wrong but I haven't found it in any other format for sale on-line at least. There's another tune that's a cover of The Animals "We Gotta Get out of This Place" which is on the Japanese Edition.
Which edition of the cd was this on? I got the collectors edition and all I got was "Under the Bed" and the live version of Poison as bonus tracks. Am I missing something on my cd or was there another version? :)
Great song though! I love this album. From the start of "I am Made of You" with the piano taking you right back into the nightmare!
@PrincessBrokenTeacup If you got the Classic Rock Magazine edition you would get Under The Bed and Poison, and if you got the album on iTunes you would get this song
sound really cool almost like if the Who band when they were at their hype. I love this keep this up Alice P.S. I'm 16yrs old your still getting new fans!
What? I have on with Under the bed and the other live bonus tracks. WHY DO I NOT HAVE THIS SONG??

What tracknumber is this song suppose to be on the cd?
ThePotamotrygon1 3 months ago
@ThePotamotrygon1 It only really fits in right after The Congregation. The Nightmare gets worse with each track .

I don't understand why they cut this song and under the bed -- they're two of my favorite tunes!

@putative3 Okay, I found it. Not much of a song really. I was disappointed too. I don't know why they bothered with that one.
gritnom 4 months ago
@gritnom It was a joke from Bob Ezrins side, since Alice was dead / dreaming that he was dead, it makes sence...
