What's all the hate? Metal and Gabber are both aggressive music that can be easily disliked by the people that are into softer forms (Rock or House... whatever the case). They are BOTH hard to produce... cause innovation and creativity is needed for both to sound good... and Metal bands have to be on-sync (wich is a hard thing to do), Gabber DJs can easily ruin a mix if they don't get the timing right (since since some DJs make start the mix at a "slow" 160 BPM and raise it during the mix.)

Talent does not equal good rock music, but talent does equal good techno. Trust me, as a person who's been playing guitar for 8 years and making Dance music for about 2, making a good (and I mean, GOOD) dance tune is incredibly hard.

I know it isn't easy to make techno songs, but still easier than learning to play an instrument for a couple of years, playing it every day to try to become better. while with electronic songs you can learn it in maybe a day or two. With metal you also probably mean death metal or the like. And yea, it's hard and loud, but certainly not just noise. It's incredibly hard to play that fast and witch such precision.
