You can also check your iPhone specification by going to this website ih8sn0w. com Then you download "forecast" from there and run it on your computer while having your iPhone connected to computer.

@ananthvenugopal If your baseband is 5.11.07 on your iphone 3g, then you can simply go to Cydia on your iphone and install "Blacksn0w". Thats it. Done. You will be fully Unlocked.
@emac2299 Thanks so much for replying. Well, I've tried using Blacksn0w, but when I tried to install blacksn0w through Cydia, It looks as though the installation was successful and I see the message saying unlock was successful, CommCenter Restarted. Reboot not required, but then I get a "Reloading Data" screen and the iphone freezes. Then I did a hard reboot of the iphone (power + home buttons pressed), I get the apple logo and then i get a rotating wheel icon over it and the phone restarts.

Current status of my phone is that I have Jailbroken it again. But I'm not able to unlock it.

Open cydia. Go to manage option then press sources then click edit (top right) then click add (top left). Now a window will pop up and there you will write that source that is written In description.
Many people, like me, who have upgraded their OS from 2.2.1 with baseband 2.8 using Pwnage and Ultrasn0w have reported a loss of service and the "unable to load network list" issue. The culprit appears to be that Ultrasnow requires baseband 4.26.08. Fuzzyband also enables you to upgrade your baseband to 4.26.08. I followed this video and was prompted to upgrade instead of downgrade. That worked for me.
Yes it's very easy friend. First put your iPhone in DFU mode then update it to 3.1.2 firmware from iTunes. After upgrading run Blackrain on it. This will hactivate your iPhone 2g and open in normal mode. Then see if it's unlocked already. If not then go to cydia and install 'bootneuter'. Then reboot. That's it done.
Installer has been replaced by ROCK. And if you want to get Cydia and Rock you have to jailbreak your device. Please check your inbox for further details.

Ok Anwar, if you want to uninstall fuzzy , simply go to cydia then manage then packages then find it there and press modify top right and remove and done. But now if you want to unlock your iPhone on 5.11.07 baseband so simply follow the video link given in the written description on right side and you will be all set.

Baseband comes with a firmware. 2.2 and 2.2.1 firmware has 2.28 and 2.30 baseband, then 3.0 and 3.0.1 firmware has 4.26.08 baseband then 3.1 and 3.1.2 firmware has 5.11.07 baseband. All mentioned baseband are unlocked by Yellowsnow, Ultrasnow and Blacksnow respectively. So there is nothing like original baseband. They keep on changing according to firmwares. And as I said it all depends with firmwares that you have in your iPhone.

Allright this is what you can do 2 days from now (November 4th) What ever your bootloader is, go ahead and connect your IPhone to ITunes and update it to latest firmware that is 3.1.2. Then you can simply run "blacksnow" > a new Unlock for current 3.1.2 firmware. ANd you will be able to use your IPhone again with your UnOfficial sim card. (Just 2 days more please).

I updated iphone through apple so i now have 3.1.2 w/ a 5.9 bootloader..... So i tried to downgrade the firmware but after going through all the steps on other video's , the quickpwn won't open to do the last step. But i think it's because of the updated bootloader, but im not sure.
If you are downgrading from 3.1.2 to 3.0 then you do not have to use Quickpwn to open your IPhone. You will be using Redsnow to do it. If you need details, you can read written description in my "3.1 Update video...".

I did a back up a few days ago but then did a restore yesterday. My i-tunes then did a backup of my i-phone when it was in factory mode w/ no information on it. Im using microsoft, IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET MY OLD BACK UP ???
Ok now, Connect your Iphone to your computer and open Itunes. When you see your Iphone name on left side inside Itunes, right click on it. NOw you will see some options. There press "Restore from Backup". Now this is the important part because you will be asked for a backup of which time. You will have to select from the list provided. Select the backup provided to you in that list (select the one that you said that you backed up few days ago).And if it was backed up then, then it will come 100%
Well, then that indicates that older backup is deleted. Or it was not backed up successfully when you were backing up. If it is the contacts you are looking for , then you can manually search for them in your computer by going to search and type "Windows Address" . You will be provided with some results including your contacts of Iphone. Other than that I Do Not guarantee.

Hi i have 3g iphone 3.1.2 firmware and i keep trying to unlock with blackrain but instead of the GEOHOT picture i get cartoon of a man with his hands up and it wont jailbreak at all. But i noticed i have icy on my home screen so its already jailbroken. Does fuzzy online work if i jailbreak it with black rain or is it ok that its jailbroken with icy?
All of us must understand this first that Blackrain is just a Jailbreak method, not an Unlock. If you are currently running in 3.1.2 then you must have bootloader 5.08 to downgrade baseband in order to Unlock. Otherwise it won't happen. Now you said You tried with Blackrain and you see a pic of a man (Steve Jobs) meaning you are in recovery mode and Jailbreak is not successfull. For using blackrain you can see my other video and also follow solutions written in description if you face problems.

Well, I've tried using Blacksn0w, but when I tried to install blacksn0w through Cydia, It looks as though the installation was successful and I see the message saying unlock was successful, CommCenter Restarted. Reboot not required, but then I get a "Reloading Data" screen and the iphone freezes. Then I did a hard reboot of the iphone (power + home buttons pressed), I get the apple logo and then i get a rotating wheel icon over it and the phone restarts.

@emac2299 I think I posted only half of my message. Yes, I did all that and I was able to restore the ipsw and madegot my phone into a working state.
Current status of my phone is that I have Jailbroken it again. But I'm not able to unlock it.
My Phone's boot loader version is 6.4 but the base band is 5.11.07. I've seen/read in many blogs and forums that this unlock works only for BOOTLOADER version 5.8. Are you sure that this unlock will work on my iphone?

Many people, like me, who have upgraded their OS from 2.2.1 with baseband 2.8 using Pwnage and Ultrasn0w have reported a loss of service and the "unable to load network list" issue. The culprit appears to be that Ultrasnow requires baseband 4.26.08. Fuzzyband also enables you to upgrade your baseband to 4.26.08. I followed this video and was prompted to upgrade instead of downgrade. That worked for me.

Please search and install "steffwiz" from cydia. Then install " All Sources" from cydia. And then search for fuzzyband. You will get it this time.

Nope friend, We can never downgrade baseband in our iphones. We can only change our firmwares. So currently this cannot be done.

Yes it's very easy friend. First put your iPhone in DFU mode then update it to 3.1.2 firmware from iTunes. After upgrading run Blackrain on it. This will hactivate your iPhone 2g and open in normal mode. Then see if it's unlocked already. If not then go to cydia and install 'bootneuter'. Then reboot. That's it done.

i upgrade my iphone 3g to 3.1.2 and i jailbreak it to blackra1n, so that means my iphone upgraded to 5.11.07 baseband, but after a few days, i decided to downgrade to 3.0.1, but it's stuck on dfu mode and can't downgrade to 3.0.1 but can back only to 3.1.2 i think i mess up, so i restored it to 3.1.2 and now i have 3.1.2 nonjailbreak device and 5.11.07, if i downgrade to 3.0.1, is my baseband will go back to 4.28? thanks emac

Ok Anwar, if you want to uninstall fuzzy , simply go to cydia then manage then packages then find it there and press modify top right and remove and done. But now if you want to unlock your iPhone on 5.11.07 baseband so simply follow the video link given in the written description on right side and you will be all set.

Baseband comes with a firmware. 2.2 and 2.2.1 firmware has 2.28 and 2.30 baseband, then 3.0 and 3.0.1 firmware has 4.26.08 baseband then 3.1 and 3.1.2 firmware has 5.11.07 baseband. All mentioned baseband are unlocked by Yellowsnow, Ultrasnow and Blacksnow respectively. So there is nothing like original baseband. They keep on changing according to firmwares. And as I said it all depends with firmwares that you have in your iPhone.

Thankyou for the question. Please read on their website again in full description. You need to have 5.08 bootloader in an iphone to downgrade your IPhone's baseband. It is NOT possible in anyother case. You can also read the description. Or you can put forward the same question to Dev Team or any of there members on there website. 1st gen iPhone will not come in this category because it contains different baseband and it can easily be locked forever with 2 bootloader files. So if you have 1st gen iPhone on 3.1.2 simply jailbreak it with Blackrain and then install "Bootneuter" from Cydia. And done.

Allright this is what you can do 2 days from now (November 4th) What ever your bootloader is, go ahead and connect your IPhone to ITunes and update it to latest firmware that is 3.1.2. Then you can simply run "blacksnow" > a new Unlock for current 3.1.2 firmware. ANd you will be able to use your IPhone again with your UnOfficial sim card. (Just 2 days more please).

I am assuming, GeoHot is going to add it in Blackrain. So when you Jailbreak your device through Blackrain, you will have then 4 options to Install - Cydia, Rock, ICY and Blacksnow.

Yep, in this Unlock hopefully bootloader will not be of any importance. Main stress will be on baseband. If anyone has 5.11.07 baseband then they will be able to Unlock. It will be just like 'Ultrasn0w'. No time has been provided when it's going to come. So let's assume few weeks from now.

I updated iphone through apple so i now have 3.1.2 w/ a 5.9 bootloader..... So i tried to downgrade the firmware but after going through all the steps on other video's , the quickpwn won't open to do the last step. But i think it's because of the updated bootloader, but im not sure.

If you are downgrading from 3.1.2 to 3.0 then you do not have to use Quickpwn to open your IPhone. You will be using Redsnow to do it. If you need details, you can read written description in my "3.1 Update video...".
Anyhow , I do have a good news for you. A new Unlock "Blacksn0w" is coming out on 4th November. This will Unlock all 3g and 3gS IPhones running on 3.1 and 3.1.2 Firmwares with 5.11.07 baseband. GeoHot is the inventor of this. He wants to hear it all over "Blacksn0w" "Blacksnow"

I did a back up a few days ago but then did a restore yesterday. My i-tunes then did a backup of my i-phone when it was in factory mode w/ no information on it. Im using microsoft, IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET MY OLD BACK UP ???

Ok now, Connect your Iphone to your computer and open Itunes. When you see your Iphone name on left side inside Itunes, right click on it. NOw you will see some options. There press "Restore from Backup". Now this is the important part because you will be asked for a backup of which time. You will have to select from the list provided. Select the backup provided to you in that list (select the one that you said that you backed up few days ago).And if it was backed up then, then it will come 100%

Well, then that indicates that older backup is deleted. Or it was not backed up successfully when you were backing up. If it is the contacts you are looking for , then you can manually search for them in your computer by going to search and type "Windows Address" . You will be provided with some results including your contacts of Iphone. Other than that I Do Not guarantee.

No Friend, This is not Possible. You need to have 5.09 bootloader. Other than this there is no Positive Solution to this issue for the time being. Brilliant Hackers are working on this matter every single day and hopefully we will be hearing some news soon on it. Its just matter of time now. When? we dont know yet. Hi i have 3g iphone 3.1.2 firmware and i keep trying to unlock with blackrain but instead of the GEOHOT picture i get cartoon of a man with his hands up and it wont jailbreak at all. But i noticed i have icy on my home screen so its already jailbroken. Does fuzzy online work if i jailbreak it with black rain or is it ok that its jailbroken with icy?

All of us must understand this first that Blackrain is just a Jailbreak method, not an Unlock. If you are currently running in 3.1.2 then you must have bootloader 5.08 to downgrade baseband in order to Unlock. Otherwise it won't happen. Now you said You tried with Blackrain and you see a pic of a man (Steve Jobs) meaning you are in recovery mode and Jailbreak is not successfull. For using blackrain you can see my other video and also follow solutions written in description if you face problems.
