@TheWhatShit If i have the money I'd go for the Canon 15-85 IS USM... a must have for cropped sensor DSLRS... but that is if i have the money... hahaha.... A very good walk around lens... sharp as a non L lens can be... but then again... thinking of spending that amount of dough makes me want to buy the Sigma as well.... Cheers mate!
2. 550D is more a consumer camera without the nice display on top right, which is added to the semi pro models
3. compare image and video quality
The 7D makes better photos but hardly better videos. The flip screen is more than just an extra if you shoot from different angles and I would recommend to do so.
Youre right saying it depends on your preference but 550D can never be better than 60D.
@SniperOSOK Like I said, all about personal preference. I just feel that the price you're paying for the 60D is not as worth it as the 550D. Quality I believe also highly depends on what lens you have attached. Look and feel depends on the consumer themselves, a lady with a small hand for example would prefer a smaller body.
May I ask what camera you had before the 60D just out of curiosity? (:
Yes of course. I had the 20D before I bought the 60D. I'd bought the 7D if I'd had enough money, but I think I made a good decision with the 60D.
The Lady point is something I did not think of. Definitely a good point. But a smaller body and just the look and feel of the 550D were the points, which made me buy the 60D. I think its all individual. But nevertheless is the 60D worth the price. It may not as good as the 550D in terms of price vs "what you get"....but its worth it
@ducipal1st I got the 60D and I think its worth it! 500D, 550D dont give you that professional feeling. They are smaller and do not have the little LCD top right. So better buy the 60D if you can afford it!
@SniperOSOK I'm a canon user and sorry to say but the 60D is not worth the buy unless you want a nice flippy screen and video ability. 550D or 7D would be better otherwise. All depends on your preference in the end though (:
@ducipal1st I think that sound is normal i sometimes hear it as well when i move the lens ... think i read somewhere its something that helps with the OS that will move about.
How faxt does the lens lock focus? I am using a 85mm Canon, and it locks focus way faster than my Sigma 30 1.4. How does this Sigma compare?

ll i thought it would be faster. Maybe canons EF 24-105 F4 L will be faster than this.

@ducipal1st I have 550d as well and what's that firmware you were talking about?

@denniscoenraad I cannot agree with that, becaus:
1. just compare the look and feel of 60d vs 550d
2. 550D is more a consumer camera without the nice display on top right, which is added to the semi pro models
3. compare image and video quality

I have got myself one too. Havent tried it yet, sent back 500d and now I am to decide which camera to buy: 550D, 7D or 60D.
About the lens when i take in hands i can hear a glass noise inside or something is loose, it is normal?
The guy fro shop said that is normal.

@SniperOSOK that doesn't necessarily make it better though.

@SideshowBob44
I have been in contact with Sigma uk and I was told that that sound is a feature of the OS.
On the other hand I like the 550D together with these lens.
I will apply the Magic Latern firmware on 550d and it will be mach better than D60.
I have checked the D60, is not too bad, taken in hands it is a good feel.
I will get a grip for 550D and would be fine.

@ducipal1st I've also got this lens on a 550D and i like it a lot :) better than the kit lens by far.

Does the lens stay at f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the entire zoom range?

I jus watching this and comparing it to Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 VC, doing the same thing at same pace. Conclusion - same speed but Sigma was more quiet.

do you like the pic quality and the build quality?
ty in advance!

The image has little soft at the maximum apertures, need to contract one step apertures.
The hsm was really done to make it focus quieter and faster than old version.
The os is very useful, I can hand hold the 70mm already around 1/20s -1/10s but this function increase in power consumption.
Overall performance makes me to satisfy; I am very like this lens.
