As I remember, the 13 stars represented South Carolina, Mississipi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Virginia, North Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, and Kentucky. The 14th star, if present, might have represented Maryland, but I doubt it. The Confederate Congress recognized only 13 states when it met in Richmond.

I'm English Southern, and I must say, one good thing about this war is that it healed some of the wounds. At least here in America.
