This is so very cosmic. So Right On. People ask me what religion are you? My only response would be I am Spiritual not religious. If I get pressured more what do you believe? I say Love, I am a Spiritual Being having a human experience. We are all one. Created by the Creator and we co-create with the Creator. I have friends of all religions and those that are atheists and agnostic. I just ask them to watch What the Bleep Do We Know and The Way of the Peaceful Warrior and then ponder.
Fake christians were the meanest people I have ever met.So I try to just respect everyone but, I hate someone to push their beliefs on me.And it really is all about respect most atheist say your different your not judgemental and all pushy like most christians.But that is just the thing I don't believe in religion but I do in the holy bible teachings.So I hate labels.Just respecting one another is key.And because you serve GOD people also think your dumb and are a pushover that I hate too.
The levels are the same though. Our brains work by processing stimuli, that's the only way we can view the world. Scientists are just more pickey about what they accept as truth and what they don't. An "inner feeling" for example isn't enough, it has to be quantifiable. The information that both ways of thinking use is the same though, all we can know is what our senses can tell us.

Because there are infinite competing explanations choosing any one based only on personal prefrences or revelations is an emotionally clouded decision. Hence we assume any idea without evidence to be false in the outset - while holding an open mind that it could be proven right in the future until that future actually comes along we assume it not to be true so as not to accept one among multiple or infinte logically equal possiblilties.
I take the 'l don't know approach' like the ancient greeks 'zeus lightning' theory COULD have been correct for all they knew. STILL they should have assumed zeus didn't exist. There are just too many possible things and they are logically contradictory. Without evidence you also have 'unknown unknowns' as possible explanations. For instance the greeks couldn't have known about electrostatic charges in the atmopsphere. Without any information you have to assume infinite competing explanations.
Though I like the lets just all accept eachother perspective for obvious reasons, I can't help but say isn't it too convenient to assume that one side isn't right and the other wrong? Seems to me almost like an exessive conflict aversion.
Especially with two sides as differing in views as theism and atheism - theism being a truthclaim.
People being kind seems to me as the mammal instincts of pack animals. Wolves helping out other wolves in the pack(or dogs, elephants, etc). Some, maybe most people from time to time, extend that instinct because humans can plan ahead and see what's good in the future. For instance extend it by transferring the feelings to other animals (animals can do that too?).
Oh and just because it is 'only' an instinct it's still just as good as it was before thinking about it in those terms.
There's the science of the inner, of the human condition, I'm sure you know a lot about that. And there's the science of the outer, of things, outside us.
We are just at the beginning, like we've taken the first step in a billion. Eventually we will know a hell of a lot more. About everything.

I like to say that Im Christian, Im proud to say that Im a Christian. I believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ and in the Bible.. I want to be like Jesus. I think that if we were all like Jesus, the world would be so wonderful.. I dont think that even a Bible (not religion) educated Athiest could argue that fact. God is love. Love is the creator of the universe, and we were created in that image...we were created to love, as we are loved. The closer we get to pure love, the more and better things we can create. Anyone who claims to be an atheist, by definition, is turning their back on love and the power of love. Misery and emptyness can only follow such a path.

Claiming to be an atheists is intellectual suicide.You would have to possess total world knowledge in order to KNOW there is no God.The best a person can do is to say "I don't know",which is agnostic,which at least you're being intellectually honest. =)
Atheism deals with belief, agnosticism with knowledge. They are not mutually exclusive terms.
An atheist doesn't believe in God, an agnostic says we can't have true knowledge of whether God exists or not.
I call myself an atheist, but by definition I'm actually an agnostic atheist. I don't know 100% God doesn't exist but I still believe he doesn't ( You can't prove anything to 100% certainty except in maths).
If you believe God doesn't exist you're an atheist.

That manifestation that you don't know what it is, is us, we are it. Whether you believe in God or not, we are all connected and we form an energy that can be tapped into by all of us. I had a guilt trip that probably accelerated BECAUSE of organized religion. I sure hope you listen to all of Jorden Maxwell. I have the best ones on my playlists. I have been wondering what your views were of this. I am an atheist and I would say we believe there is an infinite power..I think we can all agree on that..what we don't agree with is that that power shapes our lives..we have been created from some power, but that power has no connection with us other than being responsible for our creation. It is not of importance to worship it or pray to it or "talk" to it if it has no connection with our lives; I believe we determine our own fate.
I never said he didn't. I said I believe that and there for many us, reguardless of what we are believe many of the same things. We are more similar than what we think and Dan highlights that when he said labels aren't needed.

Always interesting to hear other's view points on religion and spirituality. Labels can stick and labels can peel, they never truly define us. For me, God defines me, whatever of me is not of God are areas I must look into and evaluate, ask for His guidance. No one is perfect. I will say that identifying and living/breathing/being Christian has been a spiritual spine for me, creating strength to stand up straight on my spiritual walk with Christ. I grow stronger in my faith & Christianity daily!
I've shed a tear on some of these vids as well. There is such an innocent beautiful truth here that cuts through all my layers, Thank you...sometimes it may seem that I am alone on this quest toward my "higher self" but then here you all are!

As we know, There are known knowns. There are things we know we know. We also know There are known unknowns. That is to say We know there are some things We do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, The ones we don't know We don't know.
I believe too that God is loving and kind. I always believed that kindness and love and forgiveness are the keys to the Divine and fills the endless sea. You can spend your life searching for love when you carry God's healing energy.
I feel it is everyones choice to believe in what they want but 1 thing that bothers me but am not judging in anyway, is people that feel they do not need to be accountable to any1 or anything and just live to please & pleasure themselves & feel they will never have to answer to anyone & people that try to condemn anyone that refuse to believe in what they believe in, atheists aswell try to condemn others, I believe God gave us free will, no one else can believe for us!

Claiming to be an atheists is intellectual suicide.You would have to possess total world knowledge in order to KNOW there is no God.The best a person can do is to say "I don't know",which is agnostic,which at least you're being intellectually honest. =)

Atheism deals with belief, agnosticism with knowledge. They are not mutually exclusive terms.
An atheist doesn't believe in God, an agnostic says we can't have true knowledge of whether God exists or not.
I call myself an atheist, but by definition I'm actually an agnostic atheist. I don't know 100% God doesn't exist but I still believe he doesn't ( You can't prove anything to 100% certainty except in maths).
If you believe God doesn't exist you're an atheist.

May God bless you. Although I'm a Christian, I can't say that I'm "religous". You're definately open-minded, which I try to be too. And ultimately, love is really the most important thing we can give to other people. I just wish more of us would learn how to love eachother, despite of what we believe. That manifestation that you don't know what it is, is us, we are it. Whether you believe in God or not, we are all connected and we form an energy that can be tapped into by all of us. God comes into this, if you believe in him, as the originator of this energy that he shared with us. A person can tap into this energy to such a degree that if he concentrated enough, and truly believed it, he could walk through a concrete wall. Religions call this faith. My belief, you may believe otherwise.

Dan i'm totally agree that the words is so limited. sometimes i run so amazing things in my mind but than i realize that i'm human and this is body has limited things.. and this body also get old every year and to keep it in good shape i need to eat more vegetables and fruits :)

i do not participate in religion myself (raised catholic) the church was full of creepy fearful experiences.
i really think religion has manipulated truth in order to control people. and i think that is one of the worst crimes against humanity.

Hey, do you know how I felt my whole life thinking I was BAD and horrible because I didn't "get it" when it came to religion? I had a guilt trip that probably accelerated BECAUSE of organized religion. I sure hope you listen to all of Jorden Maxwell. I have the best ones on my playlists. The dots get connected, and I cant believe how I didn't see the truth before I was 30. Of course I had a big understanding of astrology which made it easier to see the truth. Namaste, friend. I have been wondering what your views were of this. I am an atheist and I would say we believe there is an infinite power..I think we can all agree on that..what we don't agree with is that that power shapes our lives..we have been created from some power, but that power has no connection with us other than being responsible for our creation. It is not of importance to worship it or pray to it or "talk" to it if it has no connection with our lives; I believe we determine our own fate.

Always interesting to hear other's view points on religion and spirituality. Labels can stick and labels can peel, they never truly define us. For me, God defines me, whatever of me is not of God are areas I must look into and evaluate, ask for His guidance. No one is perfect. I will say that identifying and living/breathing/being Christian has been a spiritual spine for me, creating strength to stand up straight on my spiritual walk with Christ. I grow stronger in my faith & Christianity daily!

Wars are not caused by religion. Wars are caused by battles for land and resources, i.e. power. Religion is used as a tool though.
