Thanks. This video was posted 3 years ago, and unfortunately the female has since died (the marital bliss witnessed here didn't last...). The male, however, is still going strong and is now over 14" long. And he's still every bit as aggressive as he was in this video. I'll have to post a new video sometime.

The male is the larger one who kept attacking my hand...It's hard to tell them apart when in breeding dress. When they're not breeding, the male loses the stripes in favor of a spotted pattern (hence the term jaguar), whilst the female looks pretty much the same. The tank was a 75 gallon.
Humm when will those spots start appearing? i have my jag for a while now.. it is around 4 inches and some times it looks like a male and some times it has the bars like a female.. is it still too young to tell?
