If you kill an intruder whos not putting your life in danger will will most certainly go to prison and if you only wound the intruder he or she will sue you for everything you got. Actually, NO you do not!!! Try that and you'll end up in prison. In order to justify lethal force you need to show that your life or your family's life was in immediate danger and you had no other choice but to shoot. This also includes the option of running out of your house and calling for help. Your burglar better have been armed.

I like to use Trap Loads on burglers and night prowlers, for two reasons.

1. The #8 shot is great for burning their asses as they run away, and you dont have messy bodies to dispose of.

2. Up close , it is just as lethal, and wont penetrate walls to kill your kids in the next room.

Nice tool....i only only recommend one lil upgrade...get a pistol grip on the slide...I've personally used the standard pump shotgun grip/slide and the pistol grip slide and the pistol grip just feels a hell of a lot better. Proud owner of a Mossberg 12 ga with pistol grip trigger and pistol grip slide, complete with sling as you have. Thanks for sharing

As least someone in here is thinking about liability. Most of these idiots in here think they have a right to use a bazooka with no legal ramifications. Actually a .410 shotgun loaded with bird-shot has the stopping power of a .44 magnum at close range and almost all self defense shoots in the home are 10 feet or less. I have an arsenal of any weapon I want and my first choice is a .410 pistol grip shotgun loaded with bird-shot for home defense.

I have wondered that too - I have never loaded smaller than a 9...but snake shot might at make an interesting deterrent - especially if you shot the intruder in the face!
