@maximnaviede Your device must be jailbroken. Then you should find the app in the cydia app store. I'm not sure why you are having trouble finding the website. Please follow the link to the FAQ in the video description above. If you are still having trouble, please send me email.
I had this idea as an application a while ago and am glad to see it exists...another idea I had though is to be able to receive texts through morse code by using the iphone's vibrations, a short vibrate for a dit and a long vibrate for a dah. that way you'd be able to read a person's text as it arrives in your pocket without taking your phone.
@eXpon69 thanks for your message. AS length only affects autospacing (i.e. only if you have autospacing turned on). It is the number of "dit lengths" of silence (after decoding a letter) before which a space will automatically be inserted. Traditional spacing in morse code is 7 dit lengths but you can make this shorter or longer depending on your preference. In particular it may help to make it longer when you are learning.
so I have bought and downloaded the app from cydia and then went and purchased the typing sebastian app to practice. But... slight problem of the typing sebastian app does not have the option for the iddt features.
What do I need to do (if anything) to activate the feature?
@f1r3bug Hi, thanks for the message. The latest typing sebastian update broke the iddt features. I'm working on an update for iddt right now to revive it. Should release sometime this week.
This was the app that made jailbreaking my first iPhone (a 3G) a must. It proved to be nothing less than fantastic. I am a long time ham operator, but I was a reluctant morse aficionado for decades before I buckled down , and learned the code back in the '90's.
After I passed the 20 wpm test for my Extra ticket via brute force misery, I visited the CW band sections from time to time over the years, but my skill level declined to a crawl, and the "fun" pretty much evaporated.
Pls help me! i installed this on my iPhone 3GS on 4.0.1 and didnt like it so i tried to uninstall and a pop up msg saying "Subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 1" pls help me with this problem! thanks.
@thechochris K5FAL is his amateur radio (ham radio) call sign, just like mine is KB1OOO. There are thousands of ham radio operators (hobbyists) still using morse code today. See the amateur radio wiki page for more information.
@oe7er not sure exactly what you are trying to say because I don't speak German but the connection I was trying make to ham radio was simply to show that many people use morse code at high speed, so anyone is capable of learning to use iDDT.
getting to 20wpm isn't hard. Using the typing sebastian program together with iDDT, people are getting above 20wpm in days. certainly not any longer than a standard touch typing course.
but it looks like i wont buy an iphone since they have troubles jailbreaking the new bootrom i doubt they will be able to jailbreak iphone 4g which i was waiting to buy.
Once you learn, you can enter very quickly. In the video, I'm entering at 50wpm. Also, you don't have to look at the screen so you have true touch typing.
Take a look at how quickly he does it at the beginning.
The reason I love this is, I don't have to LOOK AT the iphone to send a text or email. I can text without ever taking my eyes off the road. :)
I upped your comment because I think it's a decent concern, if poorly and aggressively worded. Learning to send IMC is a lot easier than learning to receive it for most people.
slide your finger from left to right or right to left on the top bar. Doesn't work from the lock screen. See 0:43 to 0:47 of the video. let me know if you still have problems.
Note that if you have a new ipod touch, this jailbreak will be a "tethered" jailbreak meaning that when you reboot your device, you will have to run blackra1n again.
Hi, glad you got it working. Again, the jailbreak is tethered for the new devices meaning that if you reboot it, then you have to run blackra1n again. I have a new 3gs and it's not much of a problem for me, just keep your device charged.
i have an iphone 2g, i probably need the fuckin 3g for this to work, huh? i have it jailbroken and i purchased this app, but i can't get the SBSettings thing to come down
You do *not* need a 3g device. There should be no problem using SBSettings and iDitDahText on a 2g. To launch SBSettings you swipe the status bar (at top with AT&T logo, time, battery, etc). Email me if you are still having problems.
