@AnimeSongGamer check dates, this came first, and galamoth wanted to make his own death so he based the time reaper on the oldest impersonation of death itself, chronologically speaking this death is from trevor times and galamoth could not make the time reaper fly so he didn't used the flying death from Lament of inocence or legends

European impersonation, a cloaked skeleton with scythe, was simply called death (but sometimes is also refered as The Grim Reaper, or The Angel of Death). Japanese may refer to any impersonation of death as "Shinigami", but, by all means you're right , this word does not mean "death" itself.

That's what I said! They look nearly identical! It adds some form of credence to the theory that Aeon is Saint Germain.  Along with the fact that Aeon even has an alternate colour scheme that looks like him.

I remember when I first fought Death, I had just barely made it past Issac, and used up all of my health items. So when I had to fight Death the fight lasted a whole 10 seconds before he killed me.

I was about to post a question about how anyone could possibly have trouble with this boss. And then he nuked the stage, and that answered it nicely...

Time Reaper HAD to be inspired by this boss...or more accurately, Time Reaper pretty much IS this boss on a bigger scale (centuries on centuries later and all). It makes an eerie sense, what with St Germain being a time traveler and the two knowing each other (apparently quite well) in this game.
