It's that last part where most brides can't stop their tears even if they try. Because this all is a part of our Bulgarian blood and traditions and it will ever be.

The white color represents the pure spirit (aswell as virginity) of his daughter and the handkerchief itself is a simbol of the strong family connection between the father and daughter. A strong simbolism of how one leaves the family to join a new one - of her husband. And how the handkerchief is used to display the simbolism of braking the family name sequel since the bride-to-be will carry her husband family name.

One of the true Bulgarian spirit songs. Normally sang when the bride leaves her home where she was born and grew up, and join her husband-to-be for the marriage ritual.

This video shows most of the true ritual done under the sounds and the spirit of this song.

If the bride-to-be has younger sisters, they help her get dress for the ritual as a mark of respect. The part with the white handkerchief is actually the main idea behind the ritual.
