I haven't really seen all the POTC movies- has this been on it? If not then this would be an excellent plot to finally put the Flying Dutchman's Ship to rest. And I also read that a book said the Dutchman lands every 7 years to find a woman that would be true unto death to redeem him from captivity ...Which sounds like he would find an interest in the Keeper of the Fountain of youth because of her sincerity and longing for love herself ...Being that 'Nelope seems to have Jack ...Oh the drama =D

Yes The Flying Dutchman was in POTC, but in those movies they mixed two legends, the legend of Flying Dutchman, and Davy Jones. In POTC Davy Jones is the captain of the Flying Dutchman.

Davy Jones in sailors legends was a devil of the sea, and he was taking ships with all crew members into the abyss of the seas. He was taking them into the "Davy Jones Locker". Shit I found it yesterday on google. It seems that in Pirates of Carribean they mixed two cool sailor's legends:).

At the Disney style, but still there :D The Tortuga Island that appears in the movie, it's located in the north of Haiti, but it was attacked by a resolution between Spain, France and England, in order to exterminate the piracy in the Caribbean. Van Der Decken was the captain of the ship. Davy Jones is a term they used to describe the bottom of the sea when the Devil takes you. Short for "Devil Jonah" The locker is a metaphor for Hell.
