@zeeelle123 Cotton knit probably. Knit fabric rolls a little so he's taping it to keep it from going all over the place. No technique really, he's just slicing. I do think the pattern is drawn smaller to make sure it still fits without being baggy.

Gareth Pugh is neither ORIGINAL as he is INTERESTING! This technique is so easy and has been done before by many other designers-but done with true artistry. Gareth is a copier.He calls it his 'trademark' technique of slashing and fettering........BLAH BLAH BLAH yeah right.

The dress looks pretty at the end of it-but seen it all before......Mark Fast, Iris Van Herpen and Craig Lawrence not only produce similar looking textiles yet they use colour! Gareth Pugh is a 'swagger jacker!' Be original.

@barriobrathwaite again, no he is not as original as you think he is. He's just lucky. But compared to all these new designers around now he's nothing innovative. Just trailing in the path of ideas that McQueen created-with a basic notion of colour and no feeling or soul. Bland.

It just looks like double sided roll of acetate, most stationary places have it.

He has just used it to make the stretch fabric behave like a woven fabric and stay in place whilst he slashes into it.
