  • HELP! I keep getting ads about foods that involve Spam when looking in my spam folder! :P

  • "To show these ads, we don't need to store any NEW information."

Yes because you already store all possible information from each and every email people send and receive.

  • This moron is describing it as a feature. They read your email and create a database for ad relevancy specific to you. It's not important that humans don't read it for now, they store data even emails are deleted and anything happen in future including that data is compromised.

Emails can tell all about your life and you let google learn, store and use it forover. I am amazed that only a few people are worried after they acknowledged that they wrote an application to stole wifi emails/passwords

  • Does he blink at all in this video?

  • There is no such thing as an unintrusive ad.

  • i hate google ads.. its everywhere.. for god sacke even googleandroid os is full of ads... everywhere that you look its says ads by google..

you ruining mobile experience of your own mobile and operateing system.

    shame on you.

I say no to ads. and if you had option subscribe not to see ads i would do it...

mey be you should consider that.. can you imagine how many people will pay to not to see you r ads...

  • This guy is a robot.

  • they couldn't have found a creeper looking guy to tell us that the Google Bot is reading out personal emails?

  • Even if you ignore the fact that the advertisements are sketchy and intrusive, one must admit that they have a lot of gall to state that their advertising--which is obviously beneficial for them--is somehow done specifically for your benefit.

  • How about no ads - that would really be better.

I don't like this new system. I'd rather see public service ads.

  • at least its best than Hotmail :\

  • How about fuck the ads

  • HOLY FUCK

    JIMMY CARR!

  • He looks so cheap, but I bet he earns a lot of money over there -.-

  • He has difficulty blinking I see it in his face.

  • такой вася млять

  • I can tell someone put him up to this. You can see the fear in his eyes.

  • Worlds most disturbing eyes. He is trying to steal my soul with his demon eyes. Get back mother fucker or i'll shoot.

  • hey Alan... go get cancer cocksucker!

  • Because I CHOOSE what I wish to share... the problem is GMAIL shares your entire fucking inbox to whoever pays the right price.

    and I don't have a subaru...

  • @aflipz You clearly misunderstand the process. Ad-matching is simply an a program that searches a database of advertisements, already paid for by advertisers, and matches them with Gmail users. Not only do the companies involved have no idea who in particular the ads are displayed to, they most certainly never have any access to a "secret database" which contains all of your information.

  • @EDITquette Companies no, but your entire "google experience" is made available to government agencies. Conveniently, they have this tool to find anything that they are looking for and when you use the desired keywords the "right" people are alerted and access/read/use anything the way they see fit. Things you think are private, are NOT and that is NOT what freedom is about.

  • @aflipz If we gave freedom to people who use the right keywords wed have planes crashing into our buildings 24/7. Does "this tool" happen to be Google? What makes you important enough to be monitored by the "right people" in government agencies?Do you think your house is private? I assure you I could march over with a pair of binoculars, go into your house through an unlocked window or walk in with an handful of hidden cameras and bugs to monitor you with ease. The Patriot Act makes it legal

  • @FlyingAero Freedom isn't given... it's your right. And it's the same people flying planes into buildings that took it away from you, to make you feel safe. Feel safe? You're far less safe now than you were prior to the "patriot" act...

Wish I had the time... we'll discuss this later in a FEMA camp somewhere I guess (If we are allowed such freedom as to talk.)

  • @aflipz Correct. Unless im caught with the motive and intention, no one can stop me from doing what I want. Google can cooperate with government agencies to discover if the motive is present or convict someone who has already done something wrong. This should come as no surprise seeing as phone tapping and phone companies give out your information and location just as easily.

  • I think he's hot :)

But he's not blinking his eyes in the end... it's like 16 seconds!

    Creepy!

  • ...Uh... uhh... *stares at video*

  • so gmail read all our personal msgs & emails. great.

  • @popout886 how the hell did you get that message from the video?

  • @popout886 hahahaha i thought the same thing... i googled this when my adss where exactly what i was talking about

  • I don't want ads in my Gmail, you fuckface.

  • Don't believe me? Watch Google's CEO say so himself;

    watch?v=A6e7wfDHzew

  • Yeah, and they also use the same technology to scan your emails for keywords that may be interested to the CIA, FBI etc... or basically anyone willing to pay the right price...

they also admit their "drones" listen in on your mic and watch your webcam, again the info gathered on YOU, their loyal servant, is sold to the highest bidder...

"don't be evil" my ass... most evil empire EVER!

  • @aflipz so.. why do we see you here active on a google product site sharing your vids about rc cars, ur dog... from ur username i could search & find that u have a Subaru.. so much for privacy...

  • Advertisements are bullshit and scams anyway

  • Nice job. Google is a business, something people often forget when it comes to using there products.

  • ADS... ADS are not useful!!!

  • how can i turn gmail ads off? adblock doesnt

  • Quit using it...

  • @2much2teach use html view or use imap

  • You can add that custom filter...

  • I used to like Google....Now with all the ads they have become the NEW AOL......Horrible!

  • So much whining! :D Big deal? I could write the same software that does a quick scan through messages and displays a relevant ad. Like they care what you're writing, it's automated, they don't read it, and it's the least obtrusive ad I've ever seen on the internet: merely one line of text. Gmail is so simple, easy to use. But there will always be someone who complains. If you think something as minor as this tiny ad is costing you your freedom, you're going to be pretty disappointed in life. :D

  • Consumerism at its finest, people! These people seem to think that living your life to buy products and serve corporations is somehow fullfilling... this is disgusting.

  • I wish you could vote non relevant ads off like you can on facebook

  • gmail ads r teh invazn of privesy

  • I have 'Adblock Plus' on my Firefox. So they are never displayed. Sorry Google. :)

  • I used to have adblock plus until I started working for an ad agency.

  • @TejasM14

I have that too. And its nice! :)

    Fucking ads.

    FREEDOM

  • he's got an afro on his arms...

  • I <3 u.

  • Thanks for making Gmail, Alan! It's awesome, y'all are doing a great job.

  • Just use Adblock Plus and you don't even have to worry about **** like this...

...although Google does make 99% of their revenue from ads (which is pretty amazing, if you ask me), so if you really do want to support Google, I suppose you shouldn't use Adblock Plus and just deal with the ads, as stupid as they are.

  • lol, care to cite any sources, or do you just like making stuff up on the spot?

  • @Sourside21 actually maybe he was right, it might be in the 90s...but their definitely expanding

  • and where do the other 9 come from? (fyi I rated you up)

  • Right around 1:04 ".. we will just use a recent conversation." He makes a nervous gesture. Yeah, his mouth or lips might be dry, but I thought it was a funny coincidence that it was right at the most controversial part.

  • yea that did look very suspicious and there CEO did say if you are worried about someone seeing what you sent or searched for on google you should not be sending or searching for that particular thing

  • The ads are completely intrusive and annoying. Like all admen, these huscksters will sell anything.

  • What kind of lame person worships a search engine? D: None of us have any control over what our government does anyway, so what's the point arguing wether or not Google promotes terrorism?

Also, Zero1two is right- Google does own YouTube, so you're supporting said terrorism by contributing to the site.

  • How about you start from not promoting terrorism in your ads, such as your encouragement for Maryam Rajavi's MKO in my very inbox? Do you realize what you are doing fools in Google? How do you dare whine at China for "censoring", you, the kings of censorship and of the worst kind there is (i.e. claiming you are 100% freedom), when you promote bloody terrorism even according to the standards of the US Department of State?

  • @germanicus24 You sir, are a douchbag. You should not be allowed to use Gmail based purely on your stupidity.

  • I'm sure a terrorist group applied for AdSense and Google approved it and now show ads to promote terrorism. That's probably exactly what happened.

  • Would you mind even reading what I wrote? They promote Maryam Rajavi's website. Would you mind using Google to find out who she is? She is the leader of MKO. Would you mind checking in the US Department of State's list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations and read MOJAHEDIN KHALQ ORGANIZATION, which is led by the MARYAM RAJAVI your beloved Google promotes?

  • But no, just go ahead and insult anyone who dares remember and care about the families of the victims of those terrorists the Google you worship gladly promotes as long as it falls under its agenda of regime change against the Iranian people.

  • You do know you are supporting Google right? All this bashing towards them that you are doing, you are supporting them. You know they own YouTube right? You are not aloud to promote terrorism. Thus, I feel that by promoting terrorism, Google would be out of business. Answer my question on MKO applying for AdSense and Google approving it.

  • Watch my video "Google promotes terrorism", and see who your beloved Google is promoting. It answers your question very clearly.

Would you mind attempting to use your brain before insulting other peoples?

  • Yes you are allowed to support terrorism as long as it is terrorism against Iran and China, and towards regime change there, to impose the leaders WE Westerners want for them, not the ones THEY Iranians choose for themselves.

  • How about you check in the Canadian department of state too? The MKO of Maryam Rajavi is also a terrorist organization under Canadian standards. But hey, please just continue insulting me just because I happen to care about victims of terrorism. Please go ahead and invade my country too because you are too lazy to use your brain.

  • Why do they continue to humiliate their staff with these crappy videos - I mean the poor guy he works on Gmail ads, how inspiring. Love Gmail, but make it faster and I will click on more of your ads.

  • cool

  • It's very useful beginner. Nice and wish you all the best for Google team for these type of videos.

  • I see no problem with this. It's great that these ads are subtle, I hope this won't change.

  • i'm never click on the ads yet anyway....

  • yeah me too, tho there are 1 of 10 people that click them ;)

  • @zyatkoff Doesn't really matter, they still make money when you look at the ads.

  • @aldld Google uses a Pay-per-click scheme
