Seriously, this new series probably would've been good if they just made it that HB retired, and put in a new teacher. Even if the teacher was mean like HB, it'd be fine. Because here, I feel like they're trying to pretend the audience is stupid and because this new HB has the same hairstyle and everything, it looks ridiculous.
@Overimaginated I get what you're saying, but it just wouldn't be Cackles without HB! Even if the new actress doesn't live up to the potential. They probably were forced to replace Kate Duchene because of logistics, I doubt they would have gotten rid of the original actress if they had had a choice!
@jpapagia Also, Belladonna BINDWEED, a throwback to Betty Bindweed, one of evil Agatha Cackle's lackeys from the original. That's what AMELIA Cackle means by "Dreadful family background".
@Valonaren I am not sure of the official reason, but I believe it's a shout-out to the original Worst Witch. The original Ms Hardbroom used to do that all the time (so I guess it's the new show's way of showing how Millie has grown up and become a really good witch, just like HB was). I kind of wish the new HB would study Kate Duchene's work, because it kind of bugs me that she is so different!
Kate Duchêne is the best! No one can replace her or reach her talent. This new one woman is shit! Ierk! I hate the New Worst Witch. Fortunately, Mildred plays her role a bit.

@ripthefranks I actually Weirdsister a lot, but it definitely has a different feel to it than the ones that take place at Cackles Academy itself. You're right, it would have been nice to see some of the other actresses come back! I especially miss the original Miss Hardbroom :)

But from the looks of things she'd lost loads of weight, so I reckon it might just be that she's lost weight on her face as well. :)

Seriously, this new series probably would've been good if they just made it that HB retired, and put in a new teacher. Even if the teacher was mean like HB, it'd be fine. Because here, I feel like they're trying to pretend the audience is stupid and because this new HB has the same hairstyle and everything, it looks ridiculous.

@Overimaginated I get what you're saying, but it just wouldn't be Cackles without HB! Even if the new actress doesn't live up to the potential. They probably were forced to replace Kate Duchene because of logistics, I doubt they would have gotten rid of the original actress if they had had a choice!

@Valonaren I am not sure of the official reason, but I believe it's a shout-out to the original Worst Witch. The original Ms Hardbroom used to do that all the time (so I guess it's the new show's way of showing how Millie has grown up and become a really good witch, just like HB was). I kind of wish the new HB would study Kate Duchene's work, because it kind of bugs me that she is so different!

@ripthefranks I actually Weirdsister a lot, but it definitely has a different feel to it than the ones that take place at Cackles Academy itself. You're right, it would have been nice to see some of the other actresses come back! I especially miss the original Miss Hardbroom :)

@michaeljacksonfan31 Alice Connor, the actress who plays Hettie, was born in August 1990, and the show was released in January 2005. That would mean she was 14 or 15 when the show was being filmed.
