You're dog looks great! His man parts are a little distracting, but that's simply goes with having an intact male. A lot of people out there don't know what a well weighted dog looks like. You should see the reaction I get when I take my 45lb basset for her daily walk! Danes are very close to sight hounds, so their ribs should be showing slightly at a healthy weight. If he was underweight you would see his hip bones and he definatly wouldn't have the muscle tone he obviously has

To all those of you who are concerned (not about his balls) about his diet, the video was taken about 5 years ago. Although he looked skinny there, he is in wonderful shape, 9 years old and has another 5 or more to go. He is not overweight, nor underweight.

For those of you who are concerned about his BALLS, they are still intact. No problems there either.

Please, please, please have your dog neutered! For his health and for the fact that the world does not need any more unwanted puppies being born only to be euthanized or to be honest killed in shelters they will surely be dumped off at. Be loving and caring pet owner and neuter your dog, it won't make him any less 'male' than he was before the surgery and it lowers the chances of certain cancers he could get if he stays as he is.

@SeberHusky STFU, unless you plan on breeding the animal it should be neutered, if they go into heat often enough without actually finding release it makes them sick, for instance female unspayed cats have a high chance of mammary cancer with a 90% malignant rate (dogs are 50%), however if they are spayed before 6 months the their risk chance goes down by 91%, also if these surgeries are done early they don't suffer behavioral/energy problems.

A couple of things, A: because Great Danes are a big breed and have a long body, having extra weight on only makes them more prone to hip and back problems, so owners have to be careful about that.

My dog is on a super hight calorie dog food (recommended by our vet) and you can still see most of his ribs. It's just how they are. This dog probably eats a truck of food every day.
