Why do everyone (in wow) hate illidan so much? :/ I mean, in wc3, if Furion and the blood elfs didnt stop illidan, the lich king would be dead and azeroth saved from the scourge atleast. I don't think Illidan deserved what he got. I don't think he was truly evil, he was rather power hungry and crazy. Because of that when he rid the world from Tichondrius who was I think the greatest villain ever, he got exiled, and when he kicked Maghteridon out of his place and saved the draenai he got betrayed and killed by a worthless zealot who would leave Tyrande to die just to have revenge on Illidan. Blizzard surely knows what people need -.-'

Indeed Illidan never was evil, he tried to redeem himself but ultimately paid the price of becoming an outcast, a monstrosity, atleast he looked like one, and that was apparently enough reason for Malfurion to banish him. He was mad, power-hungry, but in the end tried to help his people the only way he knew, by power.

He and he's fellow Nadrezim corrupted Sargeras and therefore every act of him is the 'fault' of the Nadrezim. And since their leader was always Tichondrius, I think he's the really evil after all.
@xxlCortez If you judge a villain by evil forever or not then it is true that Tichondrius togethe with his fellow Nathrezim are the worst villains in WoW.
But if you look at mere strength, then the biggest villains are as following:
Sargeras - The Corrupted Titan
Deathwing - The Destroyer, formerly known as Neltharion the Earth-Warder
Archimonde - Undoubtedly the strongest of Sargeras two top leutenants. He was the one capable of destroying Dalaran in a matter of minutes.

2: Archimonde has preserved his body to a certain degree, whereas Kil'Jaeden ended up as a twisted abomination of his former self.
Also the reason i put Deathwing #2 is because he was once one of the Dragon Aspects, and right now he turns out to be the strongest as he beat Alexstrasza.
The reason Deathwing became corrupted is the same reason as Sargeras (almost) Sargeras got

He had no real opponent (thx to Mannoroth and Tichondrius) and the Scourge did all the work for him. He's success in reaching the World Tree was in the infinity number of dead and he's might (divine armor). He took his time during Mt. Hyjal and didn't noticed any sign of trap. I think it wouldn't work on Kil'Jaeden(since he's nick is the Deceiver).

I think Kil'Jaeden could also destroy Dalaran. If you listen, Archimonde said that the mages built their city upon stolen knowlegde. I think there was some demonic or eredar magic in the foot-stone of Dalaran which he used against them. If not, why didn't he destroyed Quel'Thalas and Lordaeron (and the resistance) the same way?

Kil'Jaeden is the Deceiver, therefore he rather deceive or spread chaos, not doing the dirty work himself. Agressive and destructive nature doesn't mean more power. I can explain how Arthas beat illidan, in ashenvale they were equal, then illidan took the skull of gul'dan and got much more powerful. In the fight at Icecrown, Arthas got power from the lich king. in warcraft when he fought illidan he was way over level 10. Anyway Arthas didn't come close to losing. He tore illidan apart.
Arthas is shit. Illidan the one and only badass character in warcraft and in my opinion he is way better than anyone. The whole boom with his death and defeat to arthas is forcing the storyline this particular way, nothing else. If blizzard was not pushing arthas's agenda further at any cos, he would be dead in icecrown by illidans hand because there is no legit way that half nelf half demon infused with power from skull of guldan(another badass mo'fo) would fall to mere human..

He is moving in the scene; so obviously not dead. Pretty badly wounded but not dead. They were apparently going to do the scene in a cinematic and have Illidan watch Arthas become the Lich King.

WoW lore is only complementary to dungeons/expansions... neither Illidan nor Arthas were essentially bad guys, they were simply each on different sides... in wc3 the only bad guys were the burning legion but whatever, illidan was 1000x more badass than arthas, but they're both good characters (outisde of WoW idc about that)

I played this part of WCIII a few months ago and Akama didn't help Illidan seal the portals lol. Blizz got their own story wrong xD ... in a sense....

Illidan did what he must to try and make up for making a lake of evil water. He nearly killed the Lich King by almost melting the Frozen Throne, but Malfurion had to stop him because the element's panties were getting in knots about it getting too hot up north. He did what he thought was necessary, and though it wasn't exactly the 'good' path he figured the end would justify the means. I say that Illidan was never a villain. Malfurion simply painted him so.
@sokkaismylove I completely agree. I never saw Illidan as much of a bad guy. More as mis-guided. I understand that he did betray all that he learned but he did it for what he thought was best. His intentions were never evil.

I think Kil'Jaeden could also destroy Dalaran. If you listen, Archimonde said that the mages built their city upon stolen knowlegde. I think there was some demonic or eredar magic in the foot-stone of Dalaran which he used against them. If not, why didn't he destroyed Quel'Thalas and Lordaeron (and the resistance) the same way?

@1Kapuchu100 Archimonde destroyed Dalaran to teach a lesson to the wizards. Kil'Jaeden probably not a flaunting with power type. Archimonde was sent to conquer Azeroth that's why he destroyed more. Kil'Jaeden is the Deceiver, therefore he rather deceive or spread chaos, not doing the dirty work himself. Agressive and destructive nature doesn't mean more power. If you have any other to say, let's do it in private since I don't think others are interested about that argue.

Yes Kil'Jaeden is marked "The Deceiver", but that doesn't mean he's the only one of the two with a deceiving nature. From what i've gathered Archimonde is also of a deceiving nature.

I can explain how Arthas beat illidan, in ashenvale they were equal, then illidan took the skull of gul'dan and got much more powerful. In the fight at Icecrown, Arthas got power from the lich king. in warcraft when he fought illidan he was way over level 10. Anyway Arthas didn't come close to losing. He tore illidan apart.

Arthas is shit. Illidan the one and only badass character in warcraft and in my opinion he is way better than anyone. The whole boom with his death and defeat to arthas is forcing the storyline this particular way, nothing else. If blizzard was not pushing arthas's agenda further at any cos, he would be dead in icecrown by illidans hand because there is no legit way that half nelf half demon infused with power from skull of guldan(another badass mo'fo) would fall to mere human..

@doktor501 He wasn't MEANT to die. It was only by lack of proper budget and time that they were forced to do the scene in-game, thus making some fans believe he died. He is moving in the scene; so obviously not dead. Pretty badly wounded but not dead. They were apparently going to do the scene in a cinematic and have Illidan watch Arthas become the Lich King.

WoW lore is only complementary to dungeons/expansions... neither Illidan nor Arthas were essentially bad guys, they were simply each on different sides... in wc3 the only bad guys were the burning legion but whatever, illidan was 1000x more badass than arthas, but they're both good characters (outisde of WoW idc about that)

Illidan did what he must to try and make up for making a lake of evil water. He nearly killed the Lich King by almost melting the Frozen Throne, but Malfurion had to stop him because the element's panties were getting in knots about it getting too hot up north. He did what he thought was necessary, and though it wasn't exactly the 'good' path he figured the end would justify the means. I say that Illidan was never a villain. Malfurion simply painted him so.
