I haul as well, and all I have to say that I see a bunch of these 70mph confident/big ball drivers in WY Jan/feb. But what else I see, every other mile, one or another flipped on a side. I wish I can show pics I've taken for past few years.
Changing two lanes at a time is against DOT also driving 100 mph on ice and snow is to dumb that is the reason for so many accident on US roads, if you were in Europe you will be behind the bars for sure.
Also foreign drivers from Europe are those who respect the rules in US I guarantee you for that, you guys need to learn a lot from your colleagues from Europe how to share the road how to respect other drivers how to use your turning signals etc...!!!
Its Miserable out and everything wants to sting, bite and the Humidity..
Then we have the aweful Air quality that chokes a Chimney here in Connecticut. I get sooo pissed when I get out of shower for work and im already sweating my ass off before I dry.. REALLY PISSES me off! tytytytu for the Video :)

I have been driving long haul for 30plus yrs. 1st he is not going 100 mph its klo 2nd 80000 lbs.stops a lot faster than30000 lbs. or a 2000lbs 4 wheeler get out of the way time is money everything moves by truck so haul ass keep the blackside down & be safe truckerjack p.s. Im the black pete with the train horns
why is everyone an expert big rig driver from a pc? im sure if he is goin 60 on what might be icey or might just be snowy roads he has a good reason to. most rookies wont do that so something tells me this guy could be a vet. my dad doesnt have a prob going that fast in snow. after so many miles and yrs you read the rd like a book and damn near have to limitations. and unsafe maneuvers? says who? a youtuber?
i enjoyed it, esp the song. maybe next time some sawyer brown - six days on the road.
Nice winter days i see, i learned my lesson 12 days after i got my license to drive (-89), and never happened since, so now i have one thumb rule on this type of conditions, remember, you have no control if a sudden stop is needed;) and cheers to snezzen, he is a good buddy of mine;)

great video dude . reminds me of my days an mostly nights running from chicago to ny on i80 for many years. at 60 to 70 mph it takes big balls an skill for those of you who have done it an who are doin it now! im still young 38 but its just not in me any more. keep on truckin!!!!!!!!!!
What a cowboy. High speeds in unsafe conditions. Aint no wonder people no longer respect the long haul driver. Yea..you may think its cool, but what about the people you blew snow and ice on and scared to death? I know..you dont care and they shouldnt be in your way...the hiways yours and they have no business there.
@victor45662 I agree with you bud!!! Truck drivers like so have made a video for TV telling us car drivers to drive carefully but think they should take their own advice...They've kill too many....my sibling and a good friend...
@Osayannx Can we please stop railroading people. Nothing he did in this video was unsafe. Most of the trip the road had nothing on it. The truck you seen was not him but another truck. At one point he showed the speed at 100 km/h which is 62 mph. Nothing insanely dangerous about that at all. exspecially on a road that was currently being scrapped and salted.
@muzzytg that is there this is here ...70 klicks ...how long would that be on a west coast 2800 mi run???? hmmm 51 hours plus another 50 hours rest 4 and a half days ...shower, fuel food ect ect your country and ours have nothing in common
good vid. i used to deliver to all the rite aid stores in maine. the runs to calais, machias fort kent and caribou. that route 11 to fort kent was kinda crazy in the winter, and route 9 over to calais wasnt too bad. route 1 from calais to caribou was ok. thanks for the memories.
@itwontme1111 yeah, I gotta ride to school with my bro, and he goes 60 on pure ice, and we did a 360 in the middle of the highway, I thought I was gonna die.
Do me a favor and let us know when you're coming this way so I can take that day off work. I don't want to be on the road when you come roaring through town! :(
I agree it was good driving and good control of a 18 wheeler on snow, but i can't help but wonder...was it really wise to use a camera while driving such a large vehicle in those conditions?? Im glad it didn't end in tradegy.
ohhh my god ..I dont cant believe how much snow in the roads ...You are a very good driver ..in japan when its too much snow the people prefer dont drive because its very danger but in my area its nothing in comparison with the snow of your video ....drive safely ..grettings ..
Man I do not miss that (1) IOTA! As a younger dude I ate a few seat covers
going up and down the grades and got caught a few times w/an oversize, but I thought it was adventureous. Once you get a broken chain wrapped around your tandems the fun goes instantly away.
Being a truck driver myself, winter can be trouble, but if one drives safely, the distance between A & B will be 'ALOT' shorter & sweeter. Drive safe!
This is nothing compared to my job, i drive a 3.5 ton Merchedes Sprinter truck on narrower roads in speeds up to 120 km/t everyday. Here in Norway the roads are only 5-6 meters wide in the winter so we have to smack some way ticks with the mirror everytime we meet oncoming cars... But still, i have great respect for ALL the truckers who's out driving in the wintertime, god bless you and drive safe :D
the saltshakers did a good job of sanding that road :). thank God for those saltshakers! good job as always D.O.T.! without the snowplows, we might as well just stay home.
I love it when I'm going down a snow-covered highway and people are going 20 mph and I just blow by them at about 45-50 no problem at all. people around here freak out when they see only onw snowflake.
Yup, no wonder I only see my husband I only see my husband a few days out of the snow season.. HE'S DOWN SOUTH.. and I'm stuck in Pittsburgh! God Bless the Truck driving man!!
Trucks can go the same speed as everybody else, as long as they're doing the posted speed limit. I've never heard of an 80kmph truck speed limit - not in Canada anyway.
lol Davey, Yeah passing those snowplows can be scary. Looks like he posted this on Jan 16th so probably was'nt much sooner than that. Oh yeah got to love that winter, driving can be scary but it is just part of the adventure. I hear some drivers say .."Nope, I park the truck an go home during the winter". Just stay south, you'll be ok. Great vid, Thanks for the post.
all i got to say is this driver( watch them back wheels!!!) never been through Candana but spent my time through NC all the way through DONORS PASS!!! Nevada & California!!! Keep em all on the ground!!! Dont get cocky!!!
God, the memories of driving a 2007 International 9400I, hated it. But when I was put into a 2009 ProStar, much, much better. But, the ProStar has its own issues as well. Nice vid driver..
It seems that this driver is a cowboy, very dangerous move at "50" second mark not to mention illegal by being in the left hand lane on a three lane road.very good driver but likes to take risks, but I have done the same myself in my 25 years driving in New England.
It looked fast but it aint that fast. Its the camera. The motorist he passed were going too slow. I recorded a scene like this b4 at 30mph and it seemed fast. He was probably going about 50
You are passing other operators very fast which makes me think you were FLYING, slow it down man, theres nothing more dangerous than a semi out of control in the ice and snow.
You might be a skilled driver but driving as fast as this is dangerous. I see so many truck drivers on the road driving at that speed, passing all cars, when 70 km/h would be the max safe speed.
being in the left lane is not illegal, it is stated on the highway when it is prohibited but most of the interstates allow left or third land driving but not when going through a city
depends, you can downshift and when you let off the clutch the tires slow down, you can use that to keep your speed down. if your not careful tho it will just break you loose just like mashing the brakes. gotta be careful!
:D i was very grumpy last weeks but when i saw this video there was a big smile. and i thought:'i want that too!'...driving in a beautiful country with lovely weather like snow. funny video.
im american and i totally agree with the german interstates and their licences stuff is. Some of the dickheads around here stick in the left lane going 55 to 60, wtf the left lane is for passing duhhh. Its ESPECIALLY BAD IN CALIFORNIA, THE CA DRIVERS ARE TERRIBLE. go autobahn.
Man I would like to drive one of these things and croose along with the music turned up and just crooseing along on the open rode and grabeing some gears. this is how I feel and think of trucking. good video man :D. trucking videos makes me want to try so much!!! :)
I would like top see if ANY AMERICAN WOULD BE ABLE TO TAKE A DRIVE LICCENCE HERE IN GERMANY the way they drive i ntheir own country.
Its amazing how americans are unresponsable while driving. Not respect for other lives or they are even able to slow down when it is raining or snowing. With very few exceptions..you all should go back on drive schools to learn it. I drove in USA and almost had a heart attack seeing how stupid they can be, especialy when the conditions are bad.SHAME ON YOU!!!
Nothing but a supertrucker...Anyone can go fast in snow and no matter what experience you have, no one can stop fast in snow. So tell me, this supertrucker could have 20 years experience but how much experience did all of those other people have around him? That's what will kill this me on a snow covered road. Some supertrucker. Of course, I only have 10 years experience driving all over the USA, starting with the Pacific Northwest for some real hairy snow driving.
You Sir are correct!!!No one can stop fast in the snow and the experience of the other drivers which could be zero should be taken into consideration. Great advise!!
with that much weight traction on snow covered roads is very good. 1 winter where i worked we got 6" of snow and i was in a air craft push back weighing about 80,000 pounds, i tried to cut the wheel hard left with it moving full speed and that thing turned like it was on dry pavement :( no fun there.
No offense but, YOU HAVE TO BE AN IDIOT! I don't care HOW heavy you are, that sob can/will get out of your control in a heartbeat. Just look on here, there are lots of videos on here proving my point. You're one of these idiots who think it won't happen to them, but when it does they get a rude awakening and I have to come cut your ass out of your pile of twisted wreckage. MORON!
I like the begining when you rewind it after you say yes, snow.
Then i like the song. I like the videos too.
The only thing i don't like about snow in canada ( thats where i use to live, i was born there ) is the slush on the road and side of road...when your in cars it gets stuck to your car and gets it all dirty.
It does that on trucks too. You may know what i'm talking about.
now i know why i get called out so much in the winter with the wrecker :) lol
but seriously tho, i get called out a lot, mostly because truckers from the south get caught in snow and don't really know what they are doing, keeps me paid tho, and so far never seen any serious injuries myself.
So keep it safe guys and please continue watching and commenting on my video's. All your comments are very much appreciated (except for some name calling m.r.ns. But hey, their profanities say more about them, than about me or my driving :))
Second: I have never been involved in any serious accident. In fact, I have prevented many accidents and defused many potentially dangerous situations by anticipating and reacting correctly.
Third: due to my work as (transport-) journalist, I have attended many courses in both defensive and enhanced driving skills. The average reaction of the instructors: Damn boy, you know how to handle a truck.
I haul as well, and all I have to say that I see a bunch of these 70mph confident/big ball drivers in WY Jan/feb. But what else I see, every other mile, one or another flipped on a side. I wish I can show pics I've taken for past few years.

DO YOU DRIVE A 18 WHEELER WITH 80 000 LBS.? no
heavykevy888 2 years ago
It looked fast but it aint that fast. Its the camera. The motorist he passed were going too slow. I recorded a scene like this b4 at 30mph and it seemed fast. He was probably going about 50

You are passing other operators very fast which makes me think you were FLYING, slow it down man, theres nothing more dangerous than a semi out of control in the ice and snow.

You might be a skilled driver but driving as fast as this is dangerous. I see so many truck drivers on the road driving at that speed, passing all cars, when 70 km/h would be the max safe speed.

being in the left lane is not illegal, it is stated on the highway when it is prohibited but most of the interstates allow left or third land driving but not when going through a city

sodak2nodak 3 years ago
depends, you can downshift and when you let off the clutch the tires slow down, you can use that to keep your speed down. if your not careful tho it will just break you loose just like mashing the brakes. gotta be careful!

Its ESPECIALLY BAD IN CALIFORNIA, THE CA DRIVERS ARE TERRIBLE. go autobahn.
rockrollheaven 3 years ago
It's snowing and the left lane is safer in that case.

Of course, I only have 10 years experience driving all over the USA, starting with the Pacific Northwest for some real hairy snow driving.
joenunya 3 years ago
u ever drive cabbage hill(deadman pass) on i-84 with snow/ice on it?
tesleeck 3 years ago
You Sir are correct!!!No one can stop fast in the snow and the experience of the other drivers which could be zero should be taken into consideration. Great advise!!
zyruemusic 3 years ago
with that much weight traction on snow covered roads is very good.

MORON!

Nice video!
Do you?
anyway's nice video,, great job.
unique0084 3 years ago
now i know why i get called out so much in the winter with the wrecker :) lol
but seriously tho, i get called out a lot, mostly because truckers from the south get caught in snow and don't really know what they are doing, keeps me paid tho, and so far never seen any serious injuries myself.
mageac 3 years ago
truck driver's first priority.

This said: Safety is and should always be any...
