  • Nadal is in top form Roger will get better as the tournament goes on and it will be these two in another epic five setter.......again. can't wait.

  • @potugalfan10 oh.... thanks

  • look to toni nadal when federer takes the 4th set hahhaa

  • This years Wimbledon doesnt seem like its going to go to plan, Federer Djokovic and Davydanko all had problems with their first round matches and the courts are playing much more slower then in years past. Try comparing the speed of the ball from this video to the speed now, a BIG gap in speed. If anything i would say Nadal or Roddick have a better chance at winning this year more then any other time with most of the other top seeds struggling

  • Nadal is the BEST! = a THRILLER

  • The best match i've ever seen

  • does any1 know when the 2010 wimbledon is?

  • @mrwasaapi it started already

  • best*

  • This was the betch match I have ever seen...amazing!

  • Pistol Pete is #1

  • judge a player by how he plays not his rank anyway Nadal rules WHOOO!!

  • Federer had his chances but blew it and the Spaniard was ruthless, the better man won

btw this is a clearly better match than AO final, I refreshed my memories recently, watched the whole AO final and Federer played just awful, loads of ugly shanks, tension, nerves and extremely poor serving, this final is just high class tennis Rafa fully deserved to win 'cause played awesome altough I am not a big fan of his style

shame there is not much fine net-play and s&v tough (I am a big Sampras's fan)

  • ROGER FEDERER !!!!!<3

  • as much as I love Nadal, he never wouldn't have gotten close to winning wimbledon if they hadn't changed the grass early in the decade

  • 6:31 wow he does that on a championship point :O

  • 08:38 holy fukn shit!

  • 08:38 holy fukn shit!

  • nadal ran too mucho each point he never take too many risk so thats why he gonna have a short career....is not bad luck when he get injured...is all beacuse of the way he play.

  • @hencar2 agreed.. he's straining his body too much.....

but he's still younger than feddie ... so cant say about who's great

for now fedex seems to be the best

  • RAFA LEGEND is back!!!

    YES he did it!!!

    he won roland garros!!!!

    Merci rafa!!!

  • Nadal > all.

  • both are great players but i just do not like nadal too muhc coz everyone goes around talking about him like i sit threw a 2 to 3 hour tennis match listening to how great he is and everyone i know always are saying he is the best and will trash federer , I want federer to win when they are against as he is the underdog and before someone says well hes world no 1 yes but head to head nadal has beaten federer around 14 times and nadal has only lost like 7

  • Federer had something like 50+ unforced errors in this match. That is very uncharacteristic. It took the match of Nadal's life and a bad match from Federer for Nadal to win. Federer is the GOAT. Nadal is the best on clay, though, no doubt.

  • Every game Nadal & Federer plays is a treat to tennis fans around the world. The 2008 Wimbledon finals is considered (by many critics) as the best tennis match of all time! Much Respect for both players!

  • Every game Nadal & Federer plays is a treat to tennis fans around the world. The 2008 Wimbledon finals is considered (by many critics) as the best tennis match of all time! Much Respect for both players!

  • i think rafa is the best now

  • @google9875 yep

  • Rafa in his prime was the greatest ever.

  • @sup3rh1k he is now in his prime..Get ready ther is more to come from Rafa..he destroyed the so called amazing soderling today..he needed time to adjust to the changes in his game(to prevent his style of tennis having adverse affect on his body) and now he has adjusted and is the best again !!! remember he has got to the last 3 wimbledon finals he has competed in and is soooo much more than the greatest clay court player of all time!!! You wait!!!

  • federer, llora como la perra ke eres

  • You know, when I watched this I absolutely wanted Nadal to win. But looking back, I mean, Federer had everything to lose and his perseverance is second to none in the history of tennis. I mean it literally took a super-human effort to beat him. I look back and I'm shocked Nadal won this. Not one player could have done this to Federer outside of Nadal. He is truly the most beautiful tennis player ever to play.

  • great great match I was on the edge of me seat watching, Nadal is a better player than RF depending on his knees the US Open is his next big battle

  • Phantastic match, copy of the final 2007 with a Nadal, who deserved to be the winner! But I think, that the final 2007 was better this, both "Dramatik pur" to say it on German!

  • I don't like the way Federer plays, he does a rally for about 5 shots and runs to the net just does a quick drop shot EVERYTIME

  • @redskinsfreak614 yeah, its called conserving energy for a match you expect to go to 5 sets. Its the best strategy for him as he is older than Nadal and cant keep up with his intensity. If you want to see Roger engaging in longer rallies, watch the matches he's played since 2003 - 2007.

  • @redskinsfreak614 because he had mononucleouis(dunno how to spell) which is a virus that makes you extremely tired, and he either had it during this time period or recently got out of it.

  • I'm so glad Rafa's playing, if he wasn't playing Federer would be up to probably 20 grand slams by now, and that would no fun to watch at all..

  • People say federer is the greatest of all time but this simply is not true. Fair enough he is in terms of slams won, but to be the best you have to dominate in everything, nadal is the undisputed king of clay and at such a young age he is already considered the best there ever has been on that surface. Plus he is the new record holder for masters wins. Also the idea that nadal is the only person who can beat federer is rubbish. Davydenco and ljubicic proved that.

  • man this is crazy they both play so well tht every shot is like exciting...lol..

  • el publico ingles km el frances, dan asko!!!!!!!

  • Se me paran los pelos de punta cuando veo estas imágenes.

    Que partido más maravilloso

  • The Nadal passing shot is just ridiculous

  • it began the FedererNadal mania again!!!!

  • I will never forget this match.. Even though the champ Fed lost this one it was the best tennis-match I've ever seen. Two gigants on court and this was Rafa's day. Each day I'm realizing a little bit more that Nadal is freaking unbelievable despite the fact that I've always hated him since the first time he beat Fed. But still, he will Never be better than the worlds best tennis-player ever, Roger Federer. I realllllyyyy hope they meet now in the Masters-final in Madrid! :D

  • @Mara7Villa You Got Your wish. ha

  • @bassplaya202 Yess, and I can't be happier! ;) :D It will be a really tough game now when both players are in form :)

  • Best and most respectful rivalry in sports to date. Wether you pull for Nadal or Federer, you can't help but love both.

  • What atmosphere, Which hero ...

  • nadal...unbelievable..427 wins to 95 losses..fuck yeah and he is only 23..fuck yeah

  • Listen people who are always criticising Nadal!

Think about a Man who was NEVER GOOD ON GRASS, who learnt his tennis on clay... Has a game style that is usually ONLY SUITED for clay , Does not have a conventional game, has always been the underdog at every grand slam to federer apart from clay and has STILL WON!

You guys should be ashamed of putting him down every single time.

He may not last long because of his SYTLE OF GAME but he is a LEGEND already!

    Live with it!

  • Nadal is Federer's kryptonite, i think nadal only plays up to his full potential against federer adn thats why they are the two greateset tennis players right now.

  • maybe best game ever

  • Man, Federer has the heart of a champion, coming back from 2 sets down, sets that were very very close. Anybody else would have been disheartened losing those kind of sets but Fed came back and lost at the last moment. Of course, there is no questioning Nadal's focus losing two sets in a row when he very nearly had the match in the bag. This is personally the greatest tennis match ever played, or at least I've ever seen.

  • credit to andrew castle who seemed to wank off to every point nadal won...ruins it

  • 2 absolute freaks putting on an unbelievable show, we wont see tennis like this for a long long time.

  • Waht did Fed say at 4:24?

  • I am sorry...but hasnt Federer lost to Nalbandian, Berdych et al as well? What is your point? These two players always find each other in the finals. Due to their rankings thats the only pplace they can meet. But Rafa brings a little bit more fight to his games. Federer has the talent but so does Nadal (but Nadal brings a bit more heart)

  • This was without a doubt the greatest match ever!!

  • nadal was just better on the day only just, but federer is the greatest for ever

  • this is the greatest match in tennis history, played by the best two players in the history of this sport.

  • Roger 2003. 2004. 2005. 2006. 2007. 2009. Roger won

  • @federerbestclass Thanks for the wikipedia summary

  • GODDAMN!! When they will play again against each other.i have been waiting whole year for that and still unlucky :-(

  • this video missed a lot of quality points, especially the last match point saved by roger

  • the barbarian who made this video up did not put the match point saved by federer before nadal's won... i'm so disappointed tought disgusted.... what else can the world await??? really dunno....

  • This is one of the best matches I've ever seen in my life and also a spectacular match in tennis history..No doubt It was a great match and two lions played on the Grass Court of London...It was an ever green match and It tells that RAFA is also ALL TIME GREAT PLAYER and we have another example to say RAFA as a great player i.e. Australia open 2009 Final...and Rafa always behaves like a gentleman..he takes tennis very professional and do very hard work for every point...I pay 2 god he recovers

  • Yeah Rafa is definately great, if it wasnt for his injuries and because his game is so physically demanding he would easily have broken all records.

  • Roger and Rafa 4EVA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope Nadal stays fit and starts a new chapter of his rivalry with Roger at wimbledon this year.

I wish they repeat this again this year.

Roger is awesome but I want Rafa 2 win wimbledon 2010.

Roger needs some competion and only Rafa can give him that.

  • Maybe the greatest tennis match on grass.

Both Nadal and Federer were incredible. However, I laugh when I read that Federer wasn't at his peak in this final.

I'm a huge fan of Federer but that day, he simply faced someone who was better than him.

  • 16 Grand Slams Titles. The greatest of all time. Roger Federer.

  • i love rafa!!! hope hei'll win another grand slam ASAP!!

  • that backhand from federer at around 6.45 WOW

  • roger is the best. full stop

  • @khanell786 this is not to prove that someone is above otherone.....but definitely federer achieved way more than nadal will ever achieve

  • @drhims its too early to say that ..Nadal becomes the second youngest player today to hold 7 slams beaten only by the great bjorg!!! Nadal has many years left and is getting better !!!

  • @honestguy77 but nadal's physique is a problem..... you have seen how many problems he had with his body due to his technique of playing....

  • This match will always be my all time favorite match, love watching it the standard was top class (and of course the result). Has a huge Rafa fan i am, im hoping that 2010 will be a lot better than 2009 (2nd half of the season) and i believe Rafa will have. Im predicting El Toro to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon this year.... Vamos Rafa!!

  • Sorry for my typos :)

This was incredible. They took tennis to another level

  • I still am kind of sad that Roger didn't win thais. I mean it's ok, he 'lost' to the best player then, but still it's sad. It was so close. And he had the chances, lead 4:2 in the 2nd, had break point in the 5th....but ehatever.

I will never forget this match. The following day I had a majof test at university and obviously on the day before I didn't learn and spent the day watching this.

    Incredible match!

  • If nadal hadn´t these injuries he had won the wimbledon us open and australian open cause last year he was very very very good and this year he would defend his titel because he is one of the best tennis players ever

  • @xkostax4 u're right.... rafa always the best palyer...

  • I strongly hope in Rafa' s resurrection, he is the only one able to create a sort of equality on court, against Federer. Djokovic, Murray and Del Potro are rabbits.

  • That's not to say that Nadal did not deserve what he has won. He' s been a stratospheric player, has created the largest company of the sport: to prevent three (maybe four) Grand Slams to the greatest tennis player of all time. I respect him very much. The " shut up " was said in a ironical way, i didn' t want to offend you :)

  • yeah, don't worry, I agree with you ;)

  • @lucalopardo Nadal prevented 6 grand slams from Federer, not 3 or 4.

  • In fact, Nadal has prevented 5 grand slams to Federer, not 6...

  • @mariomarcano Its 6 because Nadal beat Federer in 6 of the grand slams he won. Nadal's most recent grand slam win in the French Open was the 1st time Nadal won a major where he didn't face Federer.

  • It´s 5 because the first time Nadal won a Grand Slam (2005 Roland Garros) he defeated Federer BEFORE the final and the opponent he had to face in the final (Mariano Puerta) was TOUGHER to beat for Nadal than Federer was... therefore, had Nadal withdrawn, Puerta'd have defeated Federer... as simple as that...

  • @mariomarcano I guess but that DID NOT happen.

  • That's why Nadal has DEFINITELY prevented Federer from winning 5 Grand Slams, not 6...

  • @mariomarcano No, Nadal would've prevented 5 majors from Federer if that stuff you said actually happened. But, it didn't so Nadal prevented 6 majors from Federer not 5.

  • Vamosrafa, look at 6:37 and shut up, please. I like Nadal very much, but his golden year has been just ONE year ! Look at the titles, where is Nadal, now ? He is dead. To reach Federer' s levels he had to overcome his limitations. And now he' s broken. I love Nadal, but I hate unobjective fanboys. And you are a fanboy. All the other words are pleonastic.Bye.

  • You got to hand it to Nadal. He had a championship point in the 3rd set and then lost both the 3rd and 4th set, but he still didn't give up and finally won in the 5th. That takes a lot of mental strength. Sadly, I think his best days are behind him. At his peak he was better than Federer.

  • yeah, he really was, from april 2008 to april 2009, nadal won 3 grand slam, 6 master series, 1 gold medal, 1 masters in doubles semisfinals of the us open, number 1 ranking, and total of titles he won = 13 its impresive, it has been much better than a year for federer

  • @thrillamf I'd say Nadal's best days are yet to come. Performance wise, his style of play is indeed prone to leave him injured often, but there is no doubt that he has persevered. And unlike most players, Nadal is a master of keeping his composure for the most part, and seldom can his opponents take advantage of such weakness that is frequently seen in players. + He's only 23, he has his entire career ahead of him.

  • @thrillamf "At his peak he was better than Federer"

That is, of course, an unprovable opinion. After all, I wouldn't say during 2008 Federer was at his peak.

  • With all respect for Nadal, it's a HUGE overstatement to say that peak Nadal is better than peak Federer. Don't forget Federer's best years were in 2004-2007 and in 2008 he had his WORST results (not just caused by Nadal, in that year he lost to players like Simon, Karlovic, Stepanek, Fish). Another thing is that defeating a non-best Federer is still tough as hell.

  • @thrillamf Peak? He's 23 years old, and he's been dominating this season, he hasn't dropped a game on clay this season, Aussie was a set back, but he's back with a vengence, I'd be amazed if he didn't win the French AND Wimbly

  • @redskinsfreak614 I meant to say match

  • @redskinsfreak614 Yeah I think he's back to his best. But for a while it looked like he was on a downhill spiral but he's coming back strong.

  • @thrillamf best days behing him? are you crazy? Rafa is back and he means business!!!1 Bring on SW19 and 8th Slam for sure!!!

  • @thrillamf Remember, Federer's peak was between 2004-2007.

  • I like them both but Rafa has a much cuter ass....and he is able to use his emotions to his advantage rather than look like such a bawl baby. Some loser called me a "bastard" cause I like Rafa...not nice language over who I prefer in tennis....I hope his knee heels soon~

  • In the seond set, Rafa took four games off federer consecutively, it was aastonishing, only he could do it to this King of grass

  • nadal will always beat fedrere hahah

  • No offense and defense to both player, both are champions. But I don't like the guys (who dislike Rafa) attack Rafa due to his injuries. It is insane. One of the best players in tennis is teased by guys around the world just due to his injuries

  • so true!

  • For all of thoses Nadal fans:

Nadal gave all he had in his early days. And he pushed his body over the limit to run at every ball like a kid. The result is that he is now finished at the tender age of 23.

    Peace

  • peace my ass!! dont ever forget...the guy turned pro at 16! im a huge Fed fan and ive seen the way they wrote him off after 08. lets not be so naive wid this guy. Nadal's best is yet to be seen

  • No matter he is finished or not , his achievements made him one of the most remarkable player in all-time. It's also ironical that Roger, by his poor record against Rafa in all slams , can be called the greatest player of all time, to Roger fans

  • every player has his negative match record against some other player. I think you're a bit frustrated that the player you support is only 23 and has already reached his top. The only thing you can hold on to is that Nadal has beaten Federer more times, but he won't be able to surpass Federer's achievements. By the way, if Nadal keeps playing like at the last Australian Open, then the match record will level pretty soon.

  • No I am not Rafa fan, I like both players indeed. I am fortunate to be in the generation to see this level of Rivalry. Yes, Fed got slam records, no. 1 in 4-5 years, consistency and all things. But tennis's individual sports. Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps beat all their opponents in majors. Federer could not. I am not meaning that Rafa is better than Roger. But the fact that Roger could not beat one player in majots make the name 'greatest player of all time' unconvincing.

  • On that last fact of yours, here is the following comparison. This comparison is in the worst year of Federers career, when he turned 27, so 2008. Sampras is 10 years older, so for him it's 1998. Results Federer: AO SF lost to Djokovic, RG and Wim F lost to Nadal, US won Murray. Results Sampras: AO QF lost Kucera, RG R64 lost Delgado, Wim won Ivanisevic, US SF lost Rafter. I would rather chose the player as 'GOAT' who loses against #2 and 3 than the player who loses against #3, #97 and #20.

  • This was the highest quality tennis match ever played. What made it even more remarkable was that it wasn't supposed to even BE a match. Everyone predicted Federer in 3 or 4 sets. Nadal proved two things that day: he can play and beat anyone on grass and he is the only man to truly have figured out the Federer riddle.

  • The fact is everybody knows how to beat the 'Federer riddle'. Their bane is that they simply cannot just start producing the flexibility to match him. Not after years of practicing and evolving their own style. But thats precisely where Rafa holds advantage. He is habituated to energy sucking running and movement. Add to that his natural ability to produce massive top-spins..Power WITH Flexibility. Thats Roge n Rafa for u

  • N there one more unfair natural advantage..he heals fast. Its in the tissues

  • nadalll is numer 1 dog!!

  • I don't care who is better, this is competition at its greatest!

  • amazing! rafa is the best

  • for some reason, whenever rafa goes to the net, he usually loses the point

  • why?

  • fuck the crowd really wanted federer to win, every point he got they roared so loud, rafa was up agianst it, and won, they should hve been more on rafa side as federer was winning too much, i think they fell in love with federer cos he won so many wimbledon titles. I was going for rafa and he won :)

  • its pretty simple actually...hes at wimbledon...BRITAIN...ENGLISH!! Fed speaks it fluently(along with a host of other langs). Rafa is ridiculed online for his English. Very typical of many English-speaking ppl.

  • yeah, but nadal proved he is so much better than federer on clay, hard court and grass, i hope he wins at wimbledon again this year to prove to all his haters.

  • Yes you are right, Rafa still has what it takes to win French open. Wimbledon may be a bit too much depending on his conditions. But as long as he stays at 60%, it's enough to thrash Roger on French clay.

  • im sorry to tell you, but on hard court and grass their match record is equal or in federer's favour.

  • well it doesnt matter the times they've met on grass or hardcourt since 2008 when rafa started adjusting to other courts, nadal has whooped federers ass.

  • oh yeah whooped, 5 setters.. we'll see what happens when they meet next time. Federer has all 4 slams now, is regarded as the greatest of all time and has sampras' record. there's no pressure for him anymore. Nadal hasn't won the US Open and the Masters, and he has to prove that he can still get to his old level.

  • Everybody likes to see Rafa's fit again. It's just the best rivalry u can see in all sports. Rafa's nothing to prove, his achievement is already remarkable. The best match has to be this one, but if u let me pick the most surprising one, they have to be wimbledon 06,07. They just showed that a so-called ugly physical Rafa could get that close to Roger. Even in Wim06, there were 2 tie-breaks that could go either way. The match was close. But on clay Roger could not even force to that close.

  • nadal does have something to prove. if he wants to be regarded as the best, he has to win it all. and federer hasn't come that close on clay? maybe not on roland garros, but on rome, monte carlo and hamburg he came close. Besides, Phelps and Bolt only play one major every four years, the olympics. the rest doesn't matter. Federer plays 4 majors in one year, which all matter, so his chance of beating everyone is somewhat smaller.

  • nadal is the better than federer not the best of all time but i'm pretty sure he can win the U.S open this year which means hes won all grandslams.

  • no he isn't, because Federer is way more consistent than nadal.

  • but nadal is more consistent in beating federer hahah

  • Federer had match points in the Rome masters final in,4 sets in Monte Carlo,4 settter in the French Open final ending in a tie-break

Anyway grass is not Federer's best surface. Hard courts are. Where was Nadal in 2004-2007 when Federer was in top form? He only reached the final of the 2 slowest (grass is way slower than it used to be) Slams, why didn't he reach the final of the US or Australian Open once in 2004-2007?

Their head-to-head is just biased, not to mention Fed is 5 years older

  • And one more thing. Not only they played most of their matches on slower surfaces (11 times on clay, 3 times on slow grass and 6 times on hard courts but they NEVER played on super fast courts like carpet or fast hard courts like Cincinnati or the US Open - I wonder why...?) but just Nadal's style suits perfectly to Federer's. He's got everything he needs to defeat Federer - high top spin, peppering his one-handed backhand, speed and stamina.

  • Stop making excuses, Nadals just been better in 13 out of their 20 matches.

  • @MacHoodio

Im not making any excuses. Nadal was indeed better in 13 matches. But does it really make that much of a difference?

  • well yeah nadal didnt whoop federers ass but he showed that in 5 sets he will always outlast and outplay federer. cos federer cant go that long, hes used to playing 3 sets and 4 sets alot.

  • Are you kidding me? Overall only slams count. In majors, it's not like a 4-5, 7-8 records. It is 2-6.

  • IMO Federer's paying the price of being too good on clay courts.

It's 2-6 in majors but 4 of Nadal's victories were on clay. Generally, more than 50 % of matches they played were on clay courts.

Imagine Sampras and Agassi playing more than 50 % of their matches on clay. Sampras wouldn't win once on dirt and their head-to-head would be biased as well.

I don't even know why Nadal is Federer's biggest rival. He's 5 years younger ffs, that's half of a tennis generation.

  • it's like saying-Nadal can lose to a bunch of players like Nalbandian,Gonzalez,Berdych, Youzhny, Davydenko, Del Potro, Djokovic, Cilic, Blake but Federer can only lose to Nadal.

That's the whole story. Why does Federer have to keep proving himself all the time? People wouldn't shut up even if he defeated Nadal at the French with a triple bagle cause they'd say Nadal wasn't fit enough. If you don't wanna acknowledge Fed's achievements, then you never will. He's still the GOAT no matter wat you say

  • yeah, nadal is 23 years old, and most of the matches he plays, he wins. The only players that have a leading head to head record against nadal are davydenko and nalbandian. But Fed is a great player, he is the best player in the history of the sports. But you gotta give Nadal some time, he is 23 years old and he already has 6 grand slams. Im sure he will win 10 or more, because nadal will retire like in 12 years, and at least rafa always win 1 grand slam a year. So lets see what happens

  • @vamosrafa9311 @vamosrafa9311 rafa's body won't last him 12 years in this sport. i won't be surprised if he stops before 30. his style makes him injury prone

  • @vamosrafa9311 I would like to see Nadal retiring in 12 years, but Rafa himself said in various interviews that he is planning to retire already around 26, 27 years. This because of his fysical problems, but especially because he started winning titles and being one of the best in the world at an extremely young age of 17. Federer started (if I'm not making a mistake) at 22 years with winning Wimbledon, whereas Rafa won Roland Garros with 17(right?) But I hope he will continue playing much time!

  • @badmintonner992 I think Nadal one when he was 18, but thats still young

  • @89Pleasek agree with you...... people and media always questions federer 's loss as end of his era........... and nobody sees the fact that he is too consistent compared to nadal......

nadal has edge when playing against feddie but feddie has edge against all other players........

  • @89Pleasek If you look at recent history, a lot of guys are beating Federer, not just Nadal. If we want to talk achievements then at least do it right. Fed has 16 grand slams and he's older by 5 years; Nadal has 7 (in 24 attempts, faster than Federer). Nadal has 18 tennis 1000 titles, Federer has 16 (having played for 5 more years!). Nadal has singles gold, Federer doesn't and will likely never achieve this.

  • @89Pleasek Now, having said all that, Nadal is also 14-7 vs Federer head to head. When one looks at all of this obvjectively, the only stat that's in Federer's favour is the grand slams, 16-7 (playing 5 years longer). It's safe to say that this gap would be much smaller if we could similate Rafa to Roger's age. All other stats are in Nadals favour, 18-16 tennis masters 1000 titles, gold medal in singles, 14-7 head to head, all while being 5 years younger. You tell me, do we got a beef??

  • "All other stats are in Nadals favour"

Which stats? Dude youre a hypocrite. Masters titles? Are you fucking kidding me? 14-7? Sure, but 10 out of those victories were on clay and 12 out of 21 matches they played were on clay in an era where hard courts dominate. Im asking you wtf? Tell me which stats favor Nadal? I want at least 5 and then to each of yours I will find 50 more that favor Federer. Nadal has so much work to do to keep up with Federer that I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt.

  • @89Pleasek A genuine idiot speaking. "10 out of those victories are on clay" So what, you blunt douchebag? Clay is not a surface in tennis, so we shouldn't count that? Moron. How about DC? Nadal helped in gaining 3 victories, Fed zero. Olympic? Swiss wuss craps his pants every 4 years on three occasions, Rafa won Gold on his debut. Then check Nadal's head-to-head percentage against other top 10 opponents. Check his winning ratio - nobody every had 400 wins in 500 matches.

  • clay should be counted but it's not the only surface, surely not the most imporant one, it's funny how so considered the greatest rivalry in tennis is only great because nadal bothered to reach only clay finals for years. Nadal has never whooped Federer's ass even when he was playing his best tennis and Federer was struggling hard everywhere, most of those matches were 5-setters. Where was Nadal on grass and hard courts in 2005-2007?

  • @89Pleasek And don't forget Nadal raped his ass repeatedly while Federer was in his fucking prime. If there were only two players in the world, Federer would be #2 all his career. Like he is now, where he belongs.

    Get some education, queerbot.

  • I forgot who was 160 weeks at no 2 behind Federer till August 2008 and reached no 1 only because Federer had a crisis. What was his name? I remember he sucked pretty much everywhere except clay. Even now in 2010 he's no 1 only because of his clay results. And even on clay who was his main rival? Verdasco?Ferrer?Almagro? Are you fucking kidding me?

Nadal will always be no 2 behind Federer and the Spaniard will tell you that. But of course you know better.

  • @jasongsux "If there were only two players in the world". But guess what, there aren't! If Nadal and Davydenko were the only 2 players in the world, then Davydenko would be better than Nadal as he leads their H2H. Fact is, at the moment, Fed is better. He has 16 slams, Nadal has 7. But Nadal is still young. Let's see how he gets on in the next few years.

Calling others "queerbot". What age are you, 8?

  • @MrRippy99 Overall, Federer is better with 9 Slams plus, but THAT wasn't the point of the argue - my reaction and posts were addressed to that cuntface Plesek who claimed that you can't even compare the two. Listen what he just said: "clay should be counted but it's not the only surface, surely not the most imporant one" Fucking Christ... how do you rate the importance of tennis surfaces? What an inbreed.

    I'm 12.

  • @mousavsm However, the fire year age gap could also partly explain, aside from most having been played on clay, the 14-7 differential. Federer's peak was a good few years before Nadal became a factor

  • @89Pleasek If you haven't figured it out, I don't think Roger is the GOAT. One, i haven't seen past greats to truly know who is. But two, when Rafa is all said and done he will likely have more records than Roger, his tennis 1000 titles may double Roger's, his GS's will be on a comparable level, and his head to head and gold medal won't be matched by R-Fed. He also has a better record overall than Federer, already. So yea, Rafa may be the goat before all is said and done...

  • Youre crazy, Federer will have way more records than Nadal even if he retires tomorrow and Nadal keeps playing till his 30's. Do you have any idea what a 9 Slam deficit is? Even if he won the French Open-Wimbledon for the next 4 years he won't be there yet and I still think Federer has got a couple of slams in him.

  • Federer was never at his best in that final. He was nowhere near his top form in 2008 whatsoever.

  • An incredible match for the ages
