  • How do I join?

  • So in my opinion OsamaBinLadenRIP is just some 13yr old kid trying to get people pissed for fun. But even if you were a terrorist, there's no need for people like myself to get mad, because we know who we are, what we do, and why. We shouldn't even take notice of your "I WOULD BOMB YOUR DAM SHIP" remarks. Go comment on some videos of dead civilians your beloved "AL QUADEA" killed. I usually try to be a Quiet Professional. But seriously, "if you fuck with me, I'll kill you all." -Gen. Mattis USMC

  • lol. 0600. Lucky. I have to get up before 0400 to get to PT on time. xD

  • An empty uniform doesn't attract chicks. For anyone who thinks the uniform will get them girls. Understand that you need to earn that uniform or you'll be sending it back to the storeroom. This is a program that demands discipline and motivation. You CAN'T pull all nighters, you CAN'T eat like your [civilian] friends do, you CAN'T party like they do. You CAN'T say "oh I'm free now that I'm in college, I can do what I want" lest you end up quitting or kicked out. "YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK"

  • im going to apply this year after i take my SAT/ACT. exactly how hard is it to get a scholarship?

  • Just got back from summer cruise on CVN-77. It was by far the best experience of my adult life. I definitely made the right choice by joining. Too bad I had to come back early.

  • can someone study full time online from different school and accepted in different school which has ROTC program

  • @GarveBB wchich college you looking at? Im lookin between colleges for the nrotc and im turning 16.

  • 1 and 1/2 years, and im there...

  • is it hard to get accepted into the program for marines, thats what i really want to do.

  • When do you choose whether you want to be a marine officer or navy ifficer?

  • @xUSxMARINEx When filling out the scholarship application you choose if you want to go for Marine or Navy side. You can also change while in NROTC, but it is a lot harder.

  • I'm considering this over Army ROTC. I'm currently in the first semester of my sophomore year of college. Does the Navy have a 2-year program option like the Army, or am I too late?

  • @Wolfe1944 Yes the Navy has the advanced standing option that you can join.

  • @Coldmiser Do you know if it is possible to complete all the required Navy courses on top of regular course loads in the span of two years?

    Thanks

  • @Coldmiser LISTEN STOP TRYING TO ACT TOUGH BECAUSE YOU IN THE NAVY FUCK USA

  • @OsamaBinLadenRIP I really, honestly, would LOVE to see you go in a fist fight with any enlisted man from any of our armed forces.

  • @xser47 I WOULD BOMB YOUR DAM SHIP AND I WILL BEAT ALL YOU GUSW UP

  • @OsamaBinLadenRIP Funny, you must have a lot of coordination. This is evident by your typing.

  • @xser47 fuck the navy you ugly ass piece of shit trash AL QUADEA mother fucker

  • @OsamaBinLadenRIP Hey fuck you man you terrorist loving peice of shit. the US military is the best military in the world you dumb ass fucker. Osama Bin Laden was a peice of worthless shit. He killed many inoccent people. and he deserved what he got..... a bullet in his eye. and if you love him that much you can have one too. Fuckin terrorist

  • @Wolfe1944 Check out the Texas Maritime Academy, specifically the Merchant Marine Naval Reserve.

I have a shit load of information about this subject, because I go to a maritime academy. If you want to contact me Ill give you my e-mail.

    Peace

  • @jpnwusabr Hey, thanks for the response. I was actually thinking about doing BDCP as an alternative, but I've got some questions about it. Can you help?

  • Please help! I want to be a marine officer and i was told that could be accomplished through nrotc..

  • im just started my sophomor year and ive already decided i want to be a field intelligance officer who do i contact to get info for mcrotc

  • I'm thinking about joining its my senior year of HS I want to go into the Naval Seals actually but I was thinking go through ROTC first so that I can have a higher position and pay as a SEAL but the 8 years is a long commitment be honest is it a lot of fun or would u not recommend it thanks

  • @17Manning Dont hesitate contact your local navy recruiter, if you cant find a recruiter go to navy.com fill out ther required information and a recruiter will contact you . Navy Recruiter - Arkansas-

  • @17Manning There are very few slots for officers out NROTC to go SEALS. You are better off going enlisted if you really want to be a seal.

  • i only want to be navy just to be a seal

  • what is nrotc cuz i they were talking about it in my high school for anyone thats interested so im wondering what it is before i join it so can anyone tell me?

  • i want to go to maritime ny i want to do the nay one cuz i want to be a navy seal but i want to do the marine one cuz there nrotc is like shooting and stuff navy doesnt train like that do they im 12 btw

  • @xxAusTInLiExx navy learns how to shoot weapons but idk about the nrotc i dont know anything at all about the nrotc lol so yeah

  • @MadZombie14 o they do

  • @xxAusTInLiExx yeah they practice shooting shot guns and pistols though, nothing like m16 or anything, they do that in the navy if you go to basic training but idk nothing about the nrotc programs so yeah lol sorry if i didnt help much

  • what percent of midshipman go onto aviation? I plan on joining NROTC to go into naval aviation and hopefully flight school!

  • @njcolonial20 Almost everyone in my class who wanted aviation got it. I too am going to flight school in December.

  • @Coldmiser How tall were they? I'm just curious. My dad was in the Navy and I'm considering it.

  • @Coldmiser Really? You just confirmed for me that Navy is less competitive than the Air Force when it comes to aviation.

  • If you're getting up at 0600, you're already late.

  • This shit is why everyone hates us. Fuck you. Toolbag.

  • color guard fail at 1:10

  • @RELhouseofpain If i could click the thumbs up ten more times for you I would. color guard fail for sure

  • I clicked on this thinking you wouldn't be taking yourselves seriously... guess I was wrong. Gay.

  • I'm considering joining the NROTC as a marine option can you give me your opinion of the program? what is your major, what is college life like for NROTC people and what training, classes do you do for NROTC?

  • is NROTC expensive if you dont get the scholarship?

  • if your in the sea cadets and you do alot of community service work does that help in any way?

  • haha no

  • Hey I really would apreciate your help, I'm a sophmore in highschool and I was wondering when you start applying for nrotc, 3.3 gpa ok????

  • you should start applying after your Junior Year. I hope at least 3.3 is ok cause I only got a 3.4, and Im a Junior.

  • So is it hard to get into NROTC? Ill be at the University of South Carolina and I am willing to do College Program, but i just want to make sure that I will be able to get into NROTC. I have a 3.4 at my technical school and will be transferring to the University in the fall as a sophomore.

  • its better for you to just get your degree and go to the 3 month boot to be an officer. im enlisted and ill tell you one thing i wish i had my bachelors lol officers have it good, but if you want an excited role in the navy join the brown shoes air department. im an aviation boatwains handler work on the flight deck and all the officer we have are cool as shit.

  • im pretty sure to enter a unit you have to enter as a freshman because it is a comprehensive program. at least that would be the preferred way to do it. gets you more experience and the navy will pay for your school if you demonstrate your commitment. im going to UNC next year as a freshman. so cheers and goodluck!!

  • what year of high school do you turn in the NROTC scholarship application?

  • @BlackSchism senior year, but you can start it during your junior year I think.

  • ok thank you

  • Okay, so Im thinking about doing Marine option NROTC in the Fall and I'm wondering, what kind of uniforms do I have to wear on Thursdays? and also, how many and what types of uniforms are issued to me? Cuz I was in ROTC in high school, but it was Army ROTC, so people called me a pickle when I wore the Class A's.

  • haha.... okay, the least thing you should be worrying about is the kind of uniform you'll be wearing. You'll be wearing Naval Uniforms, so NO, you will not be wearing Marine Dress Blues or Charlie's or Delta's. You'll be wearing Khaki's and Naval Dress Blues for formal events as well as Chokers. I'm at the University of New Mexico NROTC unit, Marine-Option, I'll try to help you out as much as I can. Especially with the interview and application process.

  • if your in NROTC do you still have to go through boot camp?

  • Nope it's an officer commissioning program. Boot camp is for those enlisting.

  • @koooldude7No. not bootcamp. Normally, you have a one week course that's similar to boot camp before you start college. Then, depending on what your major is, or what it is you're trying to do, you'll have to go to OCS, or flight school, or you get to work immediately after commissioning.

  • NROTC is marines also right?

  • @airman355 yes

  • yea

  • Yes, the Marines are a branch of the NAVY.

  • yes navy and marines

  • lucky, i have to get up at 0420.....but i guess thats what it takes to be marine option

  • I actually do as well, but I didn't want to scare anyone watching the video :-)

  • Geez.... 0420. I consider myself lucky, my GySgt. starts PT 0530. What school are you at?

  • i'm at University of Maryland. My unit is in GW in Dc though, so i have to commute

  • @stringmankzk - oh, gotcha. must suck be a crosstowner.

  • @stringmankzk Woah dude, ur such a badass

  • @stringmankzk oh my goodness will u marines stop tryna prove ur better than everyone else ur NOT

  • @stringmankzk

why at 4:20? is rotc really that hard? and how often do you guys get up this early

  • @moe761 we have to get up at 0420ish on tuesdays when we have drill, and especially when we have an inspection at drill. If youre going to be in the unit, you better be ready to spend hours and hours on your uniform and footwear. Its all necessary to wear the uniform with pride. Other days, you will have to get up around 0500 if you have morning PT

  • @beatboxn360 how many hours of sleep would you say you average per night?

  • @mkraft1212 it all depends on how you manage your time and whether or not you have morning or afternoon pt, but i manage usually 6-7 hours. Sometimes its more like 5 though, like last nite for instance. Besides, all freshman have drill team on saturday morning at 0700 which is really tough to get up for.

  • @beatboxn360 Ah even as a transfer student, starting out at the 100 level, that would be me! that's brutal man. Time management would be of essence, which is just what I need. Thanks for your input and good luck to you.

  • i have my interview with the chief tomorrow lol

  • shouldn't the alarm be going off like an hour and a half earlier? and good thing NROTC San Diego doesn't have a wakeboard team... Anyway, good video. Next one needs to be a mock service selection draft with voice overs of the NFL draft, complete with draft day drama trades and everything! "And with the seventeenth pick in the first round of the 2009 Navy draft, the submariners pick Brian O'Bannon of the University of San Diego" followed by the crowd reaction and commentary... classic!

  • im also in NJROTC

  • Im in NJROTC and even though i am going to the Army because it is the most professional military branch in the world, but NJROTC has shown me the Navy kicks ass too. go for it little seamen

  • im in area 4 wut area r u in?

  • Hmm... well I guess you failed to see the difference between Quantity and Quality. Quantity being the Army and their hundreds of thousands of personnel and Quality being the Marines and Naval Sailors. Keep in mind that the Army lowered they're physical standards to allow more people to pass. Whereas if you fail out of Marine boot camp, that's a fault all your own. Good luck in the Army though, I hope you end up a cook.

  • Currently enrolled in NJROTC. Love it!

  • howd u join??? was it through your school?

  • Pretty much. When you choose your courses pick Naval Science 1 (NS1 or NJROTC 1. May be listed differently.) Or ask your counselor. They might have different branches (air force, army, and marines) Or your school might not even have it.

  • ah lucky, my school doesnt have it.

  • Yuh, i cOuLd . . .

  • Sign me up!

  • my dad did NROTC at USD

  • lol it all looked pritty cool until i saw your drill teams cross rifle preformance, you obviously put your best out there and my old jrotc unit did better. sry i get carried away with that kinda stuff. but other then that it was awesome!

  • what a loser making references to his old jrotc unit.

  • the performance really was pretty crappy. lol. but true, JROTC is a joke compared to NRTOC.

  • how can you jion NROTC, i read you need to be top 10% in your class or do really good on you SAT's, since im a sophmore and take my SAT's next year and i do really good can i qualify for ROTC?

  • Thats for the scholarship. You join NROTC by signing up for the class in college. Technically, NROTC is just a college class. If you dont do too well in HS or on your SAT/ACTs then you can still join NROTC you just have to pay for yourself

  • Both are somewhat correct...

    1) You don't have to be top 10% in your class etc to get the scholarship. If you want to join then by all means apply for the scholarship! They give you the first year to try it out, and if you don't like it they will let you out with no commitment and no money to pay back!

    2) Xarmon mentioned the college program route. You pay for yourself, but you have the ability to pick up the scholarship.

I have much more info, just message me if you have questions.

  • Obannon should've kept the stache he had for this recruiting video it was rockin last semester for a short period of time

  • i was on navy website its not too detailed wat job as an officer can i do on a ship??

im guessing u know and also wat are u doing in the navy?

  • you need an extra "r" in "Recuiting" :)

  • lol. is that pronounced "requweeting"?

  • sweet my bros at the naval academy, he almost went NROTC... what song is this???

  • Awesome, Naval Academy is intense, hope he is enjoing it. The song I used is called Club Foot by Kasabian. I got the idea to use it after hearing it used at the end of Doomsday.

  • I'm looking into going into the Navy, and I've been talking to a Navy recruiter about going in, but haven't said anything about NROTC yet. Do I need to talk to a Reserve recruiter to go into NROTC, or can I apply via a active recruiter?

Also, do I need to need to already be accepted into a 4 year college?

  • Yes you do,its also good to have done a lot of research to.I'm in the program and they don't pay for everything like they say

  • Thanks.

Actually though, I think I'm gonna go into the Air guard to get my college, then transfer. I don't think you get paid as much, but it's faster and safer for me. I don't have to worry about not getting in, and then having to serve as enlisted. My recruiter wanted me to sign up as enlisted and then apply for NROTC. Lol.

  • really thats stupid darn i wanted to join that there again im 12 idk which is better this or the army rotc??

  • You just gotta think about the job that you would enjoy more. I personally choose the Navy due to all the excellent travel opportunities while serving. Good thing you have quite soem time to decide, just start working on your physical fitness now.

  • true i love to travel and i am pretty fit so idk yet

  • I'm also thinking of going into the Nrotc. What things should I be doing to get physically fit?

  • so mr. peters, if that is your real name, which it is. how do i sign up????

  • this video is hella tight. im going to SDSU in the fall and im enrolled in the NROTC unit, so this video is showing me my future. I can not wait.

  • Awesome, it's challenging, but so worth it. Can't wait to meet you in the fall. Just be warned that I really wake up at 4:30 for drill, but changed it to six so as not to scare anyone away. :-)

  • I was going to go to the san siego unit, but i decided to go to the one in berkeley.

  • dude nice. I just watched it like three times, how do I sign up?
