So in my opinion OsamaBinLadenRIP is just some 13yr old kid trying to get people pissed for fun. But even if you were a terrorist, there's no need for people like myself to get mad, because we know who we are, what we do, and why. We shouldn't even take notice of your "I WOULD BOMB YOUR DAM SHIP" remarks. Go comment on some videos of dead civilians your beloved "AL QUADEA" killed. I usually try to be a Quiet Professional. But seriously, "if you fuck with me, I'll kill you all." -Gen. Mattis USMC
An empty uniform doesn't attract chicks. For anyone who thinks the uniform will get them girls. Understand that you need to earn that uniform or you'll be sending it back to the storeroom. This is a program that demands discipline and motivation. You CAN'T pull all nighters, you CAN'T eat like your [civilian] friends do, you CAN'T party like they do. You CAN'T say "oh I'm free now that I'm in college, I can do what I want" lest you end up quitting or kicked out. "YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK"
Just got back from summer cruise on CVN-77. It was by far the best experience of my adult life. I definitely made the right choice by joining. Too bad I had to come back early.
@xUSxMARINEx When filling out the scholarship application you choose if you want to go for Marine or Navy side. You can also change while in NROTC, but it is a lot harder.
I'm considering this over Army ROTC. I'm currently in the first semester of my sophomore year of college. Does the Navy have a 2-year program option like the Army, or am I too late?
@OsamaBinLadenRIP Hey fuck you man you terrorist loving peice of shit. the US military is the best military in the world you dumb ass fucker. Osama Bin Laden was a peice of worthless shit. @jpnwusabr Hey, thanks for the response. I was actually thinking about doing BDCP as an alternative, but I've got some questions about it. Can you help?
I'm thinking about joining its my senior year of HS I want to go into the Naval Seals actually but I was thinking go through ROTC first so that I can have a higher position and pay as a SEAL but the 8 years is a long commitment be honest is it a lot of fun or would u not recommend it thanks
@17Manning Dont hesitate contact your local navy recruiter, if you cant find a recruiter go to navy.com fill out ther required information and a recruiter will contact you . Navy Recruiter - Arkansas-
what is nrotc cuz i they were talking about it in my high school for anyone thats interested so im wondering what it is before i join it so can anyone tell me?
i want to go to maritime ny i want to do the nay one cuz i want to be a navy seal but i want to do the marine one cuz there nrotc is like shooting and stuff navy doesnt train like that do they im 12 btw
@xxAusTInLiExx yeah they practice shooting shot guns and pistols though, nothing like m16 or anything, they do that in the navy if you go to basic training but idk nothing about the nrotc programs so yeah lol sorry if i didnt help much
I'm considering joining the NROTC as a marine option can you give me your opinion of the program? what is your major, what is college life like for NROTC people and what training, classes do you do for NROTC?
So is it hard to get into NROTC? Ill be at the University of South Carolina and I am willing to do College Program, but i just want to make sure that I will be able to get into NROTC. I have a 3.4 at my technical school and will be transferring to the University in the fall as a sophomore.
its better for you to just get your degree and go to the 3 month boot to be an officer. im enlisted and ill tell you one thing i wish i had my bachelors lol officers have it good, but if you want an excited role in the navy join the brown shoes air department. im an aviation boatwains handler work on the flight deck and all the officer we have are cool as shit.
im pretty sure to enter a unit you have to enter as a freshman because it is a comprehensive program. at least that would be the preferred way to do it. gets you more experience and the navy will pay for your school if you demonstrate your commitment. im going to UNC next year as a freshman. so cheers and goodluck!!
Okay, so Im thinking about doing Marine option NROTC in the Fall and I'm wondering, what kind of uniforms do I have to wear on Thursdays? and also, how many and what types of uniforms are issued to me? Cuz I was in ROTC in high school, but it was Army ROTC, so people called me a pickle when I wore the Class A's.
haha.... okay, the least thing you should be worrying about is the kind of uniform you'll be wearing. You'll be wearing Naval Uniforms, so NO, you will not be wearing Marine Dress Blues or Charlie's or Delta's. You'll be wearing Khaki's and Naval Dress Blues for formal events as well as Chokers. I'm at the University of New Mexico NROTC unit, Marine-Option, I'll try to help you out as much as I can. Especially with the interview and application process.
@koooldude7No. not bootcamp. Normally, you have a one week course that's similar to boot camp before you start college. Then, depending on what your major is, or what it is you're trying to do, you'll have to go to OCS, or flight school, or you get to work immediately after commissioning.
@moe761 we have to get up at 0420ish on tuesdays when we have drill, and especially when we have an inspection at drill. If youre going to be in the unit, you better be ready to spend hours and hours on your uniform and footwear. Its all necessary to wear the uniform with pride. Other days, you will have to get up around 0500 if you have morning PT
@mkraft1212 it all depends on how you manage your time and whether or not you have morning or afternoon pt, but i manage usually 6-7 hours. Sometimes its more like 5 though, like last nite for instance. Besides, all freshman have drill team on saturday morning at 0700 which is really tough to get up for.
@beatboxn360 Ah even as a transfer student, starting out at the 100 level, that would be me! that's brutal man. Time management would be of essence, which is just what I need. Thanks for your input and good luck to you.
shouldn't the alarm be going off like an hour and a half earlier? and good thing NROTC San Diego doesn't have a wakeboard team... Anyway, good video. Next one needs to be a mock service selection draft with voice overs of the NFL draft, complete with draft day drama trades and everything! "And with the seventeenth pick in the first round of the 2009 Navy draft, the submariners pick Brian O'Bannon of the University of San Diego" followed by the crowd reaction and commentary... classic!
Im in NJROTC and even though i am going to the Army because it is the most professional military branch in the world, but NJROTC has shown me the Navy kicks ass too. go for it little seamen
Hmm... well I guess you failed to see the difference between Quantity and Quality. Quantity being the Army and their hundreds of thousands of personnel and Quality being the Marines and Naval Sailors. Keep in mind that the Army lowered they're physical standards to allow more people to pass. Whereas if you fail out of Marine boot camp, that's a fault all your own. Good luck in the Army though, I hope you end up a cook.
Pretty much. When you choose your courses pick Naval Science 1 (NS1 or NJROTC 1. May be listed differently.) Or ask your counselor. They might have different branches (air force, army, and marines) Or your school might not even have it.
lol it all looked pritty cool until i saw your drill teams cross rifle preformance, you obviously put your best out there and my old jrotc unit did better. sry i get carried away with that kinda stuff. but other then that it was awesome!
how can you jion NROTC, i read you need to be top 10% in your class or do really good on you SAT's, since im a sophmore and take my SAT's next year and i do really good can i qualify for ROTC?
Thats for the scholarship. You join NROTC by signing up for the class in college. Technically, NROTC is just a college class. If you dont do too well in HS or on your SAT/ACTs then you can still join NROTC you just have to pay for yourself
1) You don't have to be top 10% in your class etc to get the scholarship. If you want to join then by all means apply for the scholarship! They give you the first year to try it out, and if you don't like it they will let you out with no commitment and no money to pay back!
2) Xarmon mentioned the college program route. You pay for yourself, but you have the ability to pick up the scholarship.
I have much more info, just message me if you have questions.

You just gotta think about the job that you would enjoy more. I personally choose the Navy due to all the excellent travel opportunities while serving. Good thing you have quite soem time to decide, just start working on your physical fitness now.
