my grandparents live in park forest right next to richton park. i remember driving down the insterstate and saw the damage this caused.trees were ripped up,and a warehouse was completly destroyed.
@FaganRoberts Man, what a great example of how YT viewers generally suck. The words of someone who's never gotten out there and chased down their own tornado. Thumbs down to your fucking shitty comment.
Holy crap man, I'm glad we don't get those kind of things here in Norway, but I'm traveling to the Us next thursday, and hope to se at least a wall cloud, not a tornadot. But nice man, I'll watch em at youtube instead of chasing them. Nice:)
I live in Manteno IL which is close to this spot and on that day the tornado wasent on the ground yet when it went throught northern Kankakee (where im at) but you could see the devoluping Wall Cloud and i even say a funnel but it desipated as it moved north im not sure if the funnel i saw became this or not
Are you a professional tornado chaser? I have been facinated with tornadoes ever since I was little and saw twister. I would very much like to experiance a tornadoe in real life. In fact It's on the top of my list of things to do before I die. YOU ARE SO SO SO SO SO LUCKy!!!!!!

i live in crest hill. just a little west of joliet and south of plainfield. it seems to me this year has been rather active for this kind of weather. lots of real bad storms hitting here. but this is the price we pay for wanting to live in the flat lands like we do.
Nice job dude! I was in Crestwood and jumped on I 57 to see her. I got to Sauk Trail rd and had to turn right into it, to get away from it! I saw pretty much the same thing. I have seen 4 in my life now, the one in '67 I was too little to remember, but it trashed our house with us in it! I have one posted from 7-10-08, check it out! at dave the guitar guy or americanrides Thanks for posting man, good video! Dave
You were terrified. I wish we would have gotten some of these storms where I live at ( Hazel crest Il). I live about 15-20 minutes from where this happened and nothing happened. Just a few sirenes going off.
wow... that is scary. i was all the way up in bridgeview about to go to a fire soccer game and they wouldn't let us in. then the sirens started going off... that far north of it. scary stuff.
i was at my friends graduation party tat day and we had to keep on going inside because there was rain and then later we were issued for a tornado watch
You're the idiot... the video of it crossing the interstate is on another clip. Dig a little? For the record, the NWS and emergency services rely on CONSTANT updates to the tornado's position. Keep your foot in your mouth next time.
I work at a videogame company* about 500 yards from this spot! We were having dinner at a nearby outdoor cafe** when the Tornado Hit; we watched it come through town. Exciting ending to a fun afternoon.
well atleast people on i-57 had stopped and not drove through it. i guess a few people did not. This is good video. 7 touch downs on the national weatherservice website.

wow..that was brave...
i'm watching this b/c here in griffith, IN we had severe damage 8/4/08 supposedly a tornado.
there were reports of a whole house gone!
i saw windows shattered at a strip mall here while the roof was completely gone on part of it.
there were (i saw!) LOTS of trees on houses, uprooted, on cars, & blocking roads.
their was a roof on a car place that flew off i guess
& saw the roof on a car while we drove by later
right now its still storming bad here...
i'm terrified..
CutieBooty20322 3 years ago
A tornado was confirmed in Griffith. Preliminary rating is a high end EF1 perhaps even EF2. The survey is still being done.

sometimes they don't know..
they need to know things like this (road its crossing)
so that they can warn the ppl over there
i could of been injured TODAY in a tornado but thankfully we left the store
& our police scanner told us the tornado touched down by our K-Mart
not tryin to be an ass...
