my grandparents live in park forest right next to richton park. i remember driving down the insterstate and saw the damage this caused.trees were ripped up,and a warehouse was completly destroyed.

I live in Manteno IL which is close to this spot and on that day the tornado wasent on the ground yet when it went throught northern Kankakee (where im at) but you could see the devoluping Wall Cloud and i even say a funnel but it desipated as it moved north im not sure if the funnel i saw became this or not

Nice job dude! I was in Crestwood and jumped on I 57 to see her. I got to Sauk Trail rd and had to turn right into it, to get away from it! I saw pretty much the same thing. I have seen 4 in my life now, the one in '67 I was too little to remember, but it trashed our house with us in it! i'm watching this b/c here in griffith, IN we had severe damage 8/4/08 supposedly a tornado.

there were reports of a whole house gone!

i saw windows shattered at a strip mall here while the roof was completely gone on part of it.

there were (i saw!) LOTS of trees on houses, uprooted, on cars, & blocking roads.

their was a roof on a car place that flew off i guess

& saw the roof on a car while we drove by later

right now its still storming bad here...

i'm terrified..

I used to live in Monee less than a mile from where the tornado was on the ground. It literally passed less than a mile north of the house I lived in back in 2005. I was at Stuenkel Rd and Cicero Ave. It crossed I-57 at Stuenkel and then slammed through University Park and Richton Park. One of my best friends lives in Matteson. She said she was excited and terrified at the same time.

Yes that was the same one because I just watched the news and it started in Livingston going through Dwight and crossed over I57. They just anounced that portions of I57 and I80 are closed because of the damage.
