It may look like it is dragging the back wheel, but it has 10 smaller wheels with in the wheel. Even though the main part stays stationary when moving forward, the smaller wheels rotate.

I've seen it controlled using the accelerometer on an iphone (i'm sure there's a vid on youtube somewhere), and there is a Rovio App in the App Store to help with set up etc. I'm guessing it will also work with a touch (maybe depending on what gen though).

According to what I've read, it will only work within one room where it can see the infrared Northstar beam on the ceiling.  Don't think it can determine where it is if it cannot see the infrared beam.

So no room to room driving. Seems like all demos are in only 1 room.

It can definitely do room to room driving. They sell additional TrueTrack beacons to provide coverage for other rooms besides the primary beacon in the charging dock.

Where did you read that it will only work within one room? Seem that it should be able to travel as far as it's wireless connectivity would allow... and then it'd be like a remote sailboat stuck out in the middle of the pond. if you're out of town.
