When I was young in the late 80's to early 90's. We had a movie with a family on a sailboat and they all sing this song on the deck. They find a boy who stowed away on the boat. The boat sinks in a storm and they get stranded on an island. Does anyone know the name of it?
Shiver me timbers & make me walk the plank! Arrrr... it's me favorite sea chanty! Tis a fine group of boys here! Puts me in the mood to have another tankard of grog! Blast! Me parrot has just pooped on me shoulder again....it's me dry cleaning bills that have driven me to be a pirate! Avhast there...I THANK YE for sharing this toe-tapper with me & me crew of salty sea dogs. All we need now is a group of comely wenches to dance with...and who won't mind peg legs & eye patches. ARRRRRR !!!!
Aye me hearty! I be likin' yer spirit there. Whats say you that we trim them sails, grab us bottles of rum and grog, and follow'er that sun as up she rises ear-ly in the mornin'! All in fave'r...
Avast there, matey! You can count on me! I've got me hornpipe & mouth organ all ready! But I be not drinkin' rum of late. I prefer vodka mixed with Milk of Magnesia. I call 'em Phillips Screwdrivers!! ARRR! Let us set sail over the bounding main! We be the most bodacious bucaneers on the foamy brine! ARRRR!
Penn, I am an old combat sailor. You have no idea how many times I have been drunk in a foriegn port. Yes, we do drink. Because we know what we have to do when on station. Drinking let's us blow off steam. We can't drink at sea. Let us drink at land!!!!=Stefan=
very funny! and cool arrangement! still im looking for a reall good traditionall version, a slower and less danceable version of it (does that make sens?^^)
brilliant love this version even better that they kept the olde lyrics "erli in the morning" very spiritual you almost feel conected with the old sailor men espeshaly on a wet dull day
I agree Shango, needs more bite, more grit in the sound. I'd try to start off with the energy you ended up with, even when it's soft ya gotta spit those words out. But hey, nice pitch and good job staying together!! Very good!
Pretty sure it's the Robert Shaw Choral Series version, cuz i believe this is the same arrangement my chorus is about to do. Hope it sounds as good as this!
I love how that guy conducts!

Ya'll sounded good, but it sounds better when the singers are at least a little drunk.

it's good! but indeed it sounds too soft and gracious for that kind of song lol
yukifujita 2 years ago 2
It's really good, I'm impressed. I think it could do with being a little louder.. It feels a little "soft" for a Drunken Sailor rendition.
VincentNeko 2 years ago 2
True... this song doesn't seem the type to be professionally sung in a choir... maybe if they were all drunk...

i like it

Not bad, but this song can be perfomed much more better

This was inspired! Especially the end where the guy fell down!
Now, what should they do with a drunken choir boy? LoL

Subscribed this is amazing. But the first 1/3 is awesome and the rest seems to just drag on , but then comes back right at the very end.

Excellent! really nice version even if it has nearly nothing to do with the original intention of this song...

great job guys! I love when people say how a song is "supposed to be". Because they wrote it right!?
JulianaHarkavy 3 years ago 2
very good, love the "re-working", still keeping the traditional feel. very enjoyable!
slobjob13 3 years ago 5
This song really shouldn't have a choral arrangement. It's meant to be a hard working song, not something like this.
falcon3608 3 years ago
the idea of this song is that it is an original arrangement and that is rare in the modern music industry
