It has a HUGE fucking spread and you STILL need to be within one shot kill range of their shotgun. If you miss, you're fucked and forced to run since you only get one shot with a long ass reload, and you're really complaining about this? Stop running straight into people behind cover and you wouldn't get wrecked by it and start calling things cheap.

I remember reading something posted by Lee Perry a while back about whether or not bullets should come from the gun or from the center of the screen...it sounds silly, but it's an issue with all third-person shooters, since, because of the camera angle, you can actually see (and thus shoot) what in reality is behind you. It looks like that's what happened here.

@NumeroUnoGringo well...I'm 100% a gnasher man myself but...Epic has pretty much said this already, they put this gun in the game to improve the experience for new players and reduce the learning curve for Gears, which we all know is huge. And regardless of how you feel about a certain weapon, expanding the player base is a good thing. But again, you say "scrub" and Epic says "new player"...there's on real difference, you're just repeating what Epic has stated openly, publicly, frequently.

So they add *another* shotgun?? and please explain to me what is tactical about an insta-gib gun with a 180 degree spread? And that other atrocity of a weapon that gets more accurate the less you aim it. lol

@NumeroUnoGringo well...i wouldn't call the DBS tactical, and I'm sure you wouldn't either, but if there is a tactical side to it, it's the whole getting-close-enough-to-kill aspect of it and, more importantly, the fact that it forces players to be tactical in defending themselves from it. I know that's not a great answer, but it's all I got. Really though, I don't think Epic said "this gun is tactical" when they made it, they said they want to give new players a chance to enjoy the game.

@NumeroUnoGringo I kinda think they might actually...a lot of people on the Gears forums are asking for something like that. At first I didn't like the idea of a hardcore playlist cuz I thought it would make it harder to find a match (like too many playlists did in GoW2), but now I'm thinking that there are SO many people who want something like this that it might be a good idea...BUT, I also think if Epic made a playlist like this, then they wouldn't change the retro so...I'm still kinda torn.

@NumeroUnoGringo I do agree about the retro though...I have no problem with a gun with high kick and low accuracy or having another option for a rifle...but the fact that it's SO destructive with the hip fire is outrageous. I really don't care about the DBS, I destroyed DBS users with the gnasher all throughout the beta, but the retro is ridiculous. If I could only change one thing about GoW3, it would the retro, not the sawed-off.

As if the gnasher is the only weapon that MUST be used, you're a "scrub" for relying on ONE weapon. If anything, getting kills with the SOS is pro, because that you have to get right up close to someone to kill them, not to mention the extremely long reload. Honestly, if a "gnasher" user lets an SOS user get that close, they DESERVE to get killed. Go figure.

@Cobryza say whatever you need to get to sleep at night, kiddo. Epic has said before "Gears was never meant to be a shotgun fest, its a tactical shooter" or something along those lines. They've also said they're adding these new weapons for inexperienced (aka: "shitty") players.

I hope you try rushing me with your tardgun. I'll just hard-aim you down with my scrubby gnasher with 2 or 3 shots, and then spin around in circles while your bleeding out, and then melee you back down until you quit

Again, I don't see any scrubbiness in using an SOS if you have one chance to get the shot in and if you miss, you have to run away while reloading. If I see you, I'll use my regular lancer and stop you shotgun rushing me :)

@Cobryza except its not hard getting close and its pretty easy to run away to reload in most cases plus if u use a gnasher normally u wouldn't stay back to get the down youd go in for the instant kill and if ur opponent has a sawed-off he's going to have a much easier time getting that kill

@Cobryza You have to get extremely close with the gnahser too. Actually, at the furthest range that it takes for the DBS to gib, it takes 2 shots to DOWN someone with the gnasher. And then there's also the fact you have to aim with he gnasher as opposed to the DBS
