corruption at its best! @ wanasiasanimashoga-i totally agree their million dollar homes should be torched then maybe nairobi will get working fire stations
lets see how the mayor, obako, passat uhuru and the rest of the greedy guys will wingle out of this... shame shame shame!!! a whole city without fire engines! the mayor and the whole of city hall are thieves and they need to be jailed!
na sasa hiyo ndio journalism twende till they cant breath man those fire fighters must be up and running Robert call that donkey mayor and give him unultimatum that donkey vision 2030
This is beyond words. Heads should roll. City hall should be audited, restructured, resized and goals reprioritized. In the meantime arrest anyone suspected of embezzlement or aiding it. If the Kenyan govt. is really as committed to fighting corruption as they claim, they would start here.
The Kenyan Government can be summed up as greedy fags who don't care about the common mwananchi. Their houses should be torched so we can see the Fire departments reaction. How can the fire department refer you to a private security firm? Has the govt outsourced the Fire Service to G4S in another dubious deal? Civil service is the best place to work. As long as you're willing to suck your bosses d*ck on his 2 hour lunch break, you are on the way to the top.
robert i love the way you report my friend always calls me whenever you are reporting you are precise, full of evidence and analytical.for the ouncil shame on them.keep up bro
Haki..What does G4S has to do with this city council? They have responsibilities to look up for lost millions. For the city council get your damn fire engines back on the road.
The Nairobi mayor should go to jail for endangering the lives of Nairobi residents through this kind of criminal negligence. Impunity reigns everywhere in Kenya... then we talk of BS like Vision 2030!
what a shame. a big damn shame. that was a ladder truck they just showed in industrial area. those trucks are like gold in the west. what a shame !!!!
Everything! Nairobi Fire Dept inability to respond efficiently and effectively to disasters is a major setback to it's objective of becoming a modern metropolis and regional capital...it's Fire Engines acts as a back up and a supplement 2 all in-house fire safety equipments, AIRPORTS INCLUDED!
Think its high time the citizen do the advocacy since its them who will be faced by fire without anyone to help them.We criticize issues, later do nothing and the government does nothing 'typically Kenyan style'.Am sure we will see the same after 2-5 years and the peoples response will be the same.
nd the the Mayor is still ignorant of what's going on here? Now if only international airlines would suspend their landings at JKIA on safety Mayor Blank might just get a brainwave.
Kibaki is the head of the country. If he cared for the nation, he would appoint men and women of substance to run the goverment. He is the root of all evil. Death to Kibaki!!!!
If terrorists saw this video, they would conculde that they don't need explosives to be a threat in Nairobi, they only need matches. Fuel expenditure without fire trucks? Being corrupt in Kenya does pay! When I grow up, I want to be as corrupt as Kibaki and his government! I'll retire rich. I think Corruption as a topic and how it can benefit you as a Kenyan should replace Business Eduction, Commerce and Bachelor of Commerce in our eduction system!
It's so bad that you can get away with a "shock-value crank call" to the emergency services. I'm surprised that someone even picked up the phone - lol @ call G4s.
The Fire Man yu just called is suggesting u take the 'burning building' to DT Dobie thats where the fire engines are...and the filthy standby tanker how r yu supposed to get water out...use sufurias?

Nairobi city council is just an institution that is good for corruption it has no use what so ever for Nairobians.
The council is not fit for purpose. get rid of it.
