I believe the issue with some of the viewers of this video is that when they see the words 'advanced' they're thinking that this guy is about to show them a 30 ft cliff drop. What you have to realize is that I believe Expert village means advanced skills for a 'beginning' rider, since a real advanced snowboarder would never have to worry about learning how to perform in powder or carving.
I don't get it, don't really see any absorbing action there at all... Get a wider stance, keep low to the ground and go fast! Oh and get a backplate and helmet for godssake!
when u jump...on powder...do u try 2 land flat or on ur tail....i hv no idea what the brit is saying...i normally board on groomed snow so yeh...im goin korea soon so i wanna knw
@zxssded he says you have to land flat; but i personally think you should lean slightly on your tail (just a little), just in case there's an hidden obstacle right after your landing, so you can go smoothly over it
I don't get it. Maybe you could ease up on the speed and steady the camera so I can see what you mean by this absorbing the terrain. Riding fast on your demo won't get you any extra points.
actually I am experienced at surfing and was able to pick up snowboarding the first day, exceeding 30 mph slaloming down the mountain. As for insurance, you only need not hit the person in front of you on the slopes in Oregon.
I was inquiring if he should be giving safety advice or maybe adding a disclaimer to his video,
before he leads someone down the slopes with bad information under the guise of a professional
@The Yes, a confidence in one's own ability is a good alternative for stopping a tree crushing your skull. Furthermore, people generally have a very modest confidence, right? There are *very few* whose confidence is unwarranted?
@TheCowboyssuperbowl Most people don't try new things unless they know *exactly* what they're doing? Furthermore, most people, when desiring a dangerous situation, typically do not downplay the risk factor so as to allow themselves quicker entry into the desired situation, right? Right.
@TheCowboyssuperbowl O yea and with some of them steezy kids that laps through A51. Their confidence rode out with them on stretchers with fractured skulls and concussions. So I gotta hand it to you confidence might just be the key
if he really wanted to show how to absorb terrain, he would have belted it in that nice stuff at 0.42, plus he never mentions speed, in powder you need to maintain yr speed overwise yr'll just sink---maybe not in some of the stuff he was in tho......tee hee
If you're an advanced snowboarder looking at tips on how to ride pow or in the trees, you may not be an advanced snowboarder... my thoughts.

helmet saved my friends life and would have prevented my concussion... wear one
tim1210 2 years ago
I am a beginner, just a week into the sport.
Do you have any pointers on how to avoid the trees?
So far learning to ride in the trees does not look safe or fun!
should i wear a helmet or go on your advise, no helmet, straight into a tree.
does expertvillage have insurance to cover my day on the mountain, based on your advice in this particular video?
mikeoxhuge 2 years ago
insurance to cover your inability to snowboard and be smart and NOT go into trees a week into the sport?
Don't learn to ride in trees, ride in a open mountain.
