I luv sape music & the org ulu's dance since childhoods. Is there any sape instrument on sale in market now especially the electronic type? During local exhibition most of the sape on sale is a toy one..heeehee...any good comment where to get/purchase one ?... tq.
Reminds me of my grandfather when i was little......so peaceful! Can't give enough love to my Dayak's back home in Borneo, my motherland! Peace......kashi Sape!
I wish you people the best and hope you will develop your sapeh music and sapeh instruments further. Somehow, the sapeh has a very romantic and mystic twang to it. I'm chinese, and I'm in love with the sound of it.. the sapeh. Can you people also play to pop tunes? That would be very nice too!
Yeah! Someday soon, we will hope to see you sapeh players as stars on stage in concert halls and stadiums crooning out love songs and pop in all kinds of beat. Wow, that would be the ultimate for Borneo music!
ehem... not all kampung like that hehee.. coz i went to few long house in Ulu Baram they do selling Sape just that cheaper than the town Sape like 50% discount... cakap pasal sape erm! planing to go Belaga end of this year to meet few sape Master.
Dear LubauLayar, i dont mind if you have one from baram,it's not a competition but it's a culture that will be extinct in the future if no preservation of its richful culture. I am glad i can be one of those that can fend the culture...dont get me wrong Lubau Layar.
Dear Rasta1982, you can see my picture with the sape in friendster. Just type Lawyer_78@hotmail to find it. I have played in front of my own friend yesterday and she was fascinated by my presentation. Talented and gifted :)
I'm on MySpace for my music and there is a link in the Info Section for the vid. I haven't used Friendster but I noticed when I was abroad more people use it. Just thought I'd let you know you've got a response below!

That twang is very entrancing, isn't it? Especially when you have that continuous droning note carrying the sound.
