I have to say, I was almost sold on the Comanche. I have a 5:50 too and I keep coming back to this vid because of the tone. So pretty much for the past week I've obsessed over which to get, the Comanche or the S-500. I really have no idea.

@TheGuitarSuite These are the same guitar but with different pickguard and pickups. But if you take an S-500 and want to change the MFD, you can change them without even having to replace the pickguard.

100% G&L are the better (real) fenders! i have an s500 tribute and it´s such an amazing instrument! quality is good, sound and versatility are amazing!

i´ve played couple of mex strats.... crap. i even played some 1000 € strats which were bull...and then i play this nice little 600€ s500 and i fell in love...hahaha

i´ll stay with G&L <3

Just picked one of this bad boys up this week in the quilted maple tobacco burst model and wow am I impressed. Hands down, Q&A on G&L's are superb, from finish to workmanship, tone, looks, everything. The HSC is so so, but I'm not playing the case. One thing, doesn't fit in a Fender strat case, abit longer.

That was what I was thinking at fist too. And then I asked a lauthorised deal, he said Leo gave the s-500 a personal touch, while the Legacy is closer to the Stat.

Just picked up an S-500. G&L folks I spoke with said hotter tones. P/U's are based off the Commanche w/sgl coil shape. I was looking for the SVR sound, good mids myself having a EC and EJ strat plus two Tele's. QC on G&L's are top notch, such an underrated guitar company.

@kosmosleha Well there are both great guitars for blues funk and light rock. Most people personly now like g and l bacause that is the company he was with shen he died and put all his heart into it. But they both are great you just got to try out all of both the company and see wahts good for you!

BTW I really like the passive bass/treble controls, makes the fender strat seem like an antique!

The pickups have alot of meat and can pull off a bright humbucker tone or a vintage single coil well.
