  • I don't mean to start a polemic or bash any system. However, I've looked into this quite a bit with my Dr. brother and it does not appear to be true that 12 step is the best, and certainly not the 'only' cure for addiction. A swedish medical book "the kidnapped mind" summarizes work done from around the world on every type of treatment / approach / method that works. See also the Orange papers (very anti-AA but good points there too)

  • @scottricerules Thanks for watching!! Part 1-3 is about crack addiction and 4-7 is all personal. It is a long interview but I felt it was very powerful. The camera work is rough, but I was young and did not know what I was doing then in 01 lol.

  • @scottricerules If I asked him to stop, I would of lost all the raw emotion. Nothing worse then asking people to act. Plus, I felt it was a natural sound that is true to his coping on the streets.

  • @leafszone...Yes, he does. FYI: It's "...better grammar than I."

  • lol a crack head has better grammar then me fml

  • like the camera guy said...he still has a good mind set...he's not a loopt out crazy cunt.

hes just got a problem and hes dealing with it day by day.

  • It's sad that the system victimizes the sick/ill rather than helping them get over their addiction. If sum1 is addicted to cocaine, the medicine they need is cocaine. that is a FACT. ADDICTION IS A PHYSICAL ILLNESS.

  • @mmamolina That is fucking retarded. I'm sure this guy looks at crack cocaine as his worst enemy, his demons, rather than his medicine. He obviously knows if he didnt smoke it in the first place, he wouldn'tbe where he is at now. And this is coming from someone who has "been there and done that."

  • @turnthatuptoeleven I'm pretty sure he sees it as evil too, but it doesn't make him better off to be subjected to the black market and high prices as well as being subjected to imprisonment for what he chooses to do with himself.

  • @mmamolina Actually, the biggest risks are the health risks.

At the end of the day, that would still be there if it was legal, and frankly, if that doesn't deter him then crime risks certainly won't.

I think support would be the best thing, frankly.

  • poor guy is a bohemian...

  • OMG his vocabulary and his thoughts, his knowledge... he's so intelligent! That's why we shouldn't judge people... Please God have mercy! help him get thru it!

  • Thats one smart crack addict!

  • @lotsofsillystuff highly educated about the world in general you don't need a phd to be street smart and have above common sense, academically speaking school education only let's you survive in the corporate world, not the concrete jungle...

  • Some addicts are more realistic than sober people

  • What's a dope case?

  • @str8edgehc He means that he has an upcoming court date regarding drug charges.

  • IS he even on drugs? he doesn't look nor act like he's under the influence...

  • @beamerZ

he is definitely on drugs or has done drugs that day, but i would say he seems highly educated and intelligent. he looks like he recently smoked crack and is desperate for more.

  • @funkkysegaboy I think "highly" is stretching it a bit. He can talk, but "highly educated" er, how?

  • @beamerZ , Yep he's a crack head but he is smart.

  • dam i live an hour away from joliet illinois

  • It's too bad he has been sold on the notion that the 12 steps (AA NA) is the only thing that works. That is completely false. It's a shame that the 12 step religion has a "monopoly" on recovery. The only people that benefit from AA or NA are mindless sheep. This guy is too smart for that. He uses the whole 12 step thing as an excuse to keep using.

  • @derkaiser40

i've known people that have had tons of success from NA and swear by it, but i've also known one or two that beat those drugs with sheer determination.

  • what is this? Hobo Philosophy 101? lol

  • I want to thank you for uploading this, It shows that crack does change a person, but they aren't a soulless zombie that walks around blaming other people for his problem. Not trying to justify drug use, but I see where this guy's coming from... Addiction is a bitch.

  • @StevenJacobbb yeh so it doesnt actually steel your soul like people say it does

  • There is hope for the Hopeless that are struggling with addiction. Reformers Unanimous is a faith-based addictions program. We maintain an 82% percent success rate! Check us out @Ruinternational.

  • this guys actually smart from bein on Drugs and shit!

  • he obviously is smart but not from drugs lol

  • @coldheartless1990 Yeah really smart and intelligent, so much so he sits and begs then spends all the money on poisoned shit, and then puts it in his body..Maybe he should apply for university?

  • seems like nice dude

  • watch youtube's "high on crack street" that documentary is messed up, but really good haha.

  • This guy is actually quite intelligent, and very honest.

  • hes street smart cuz he been thru some shit. dude is probly smarter then 90% of the people talkin shit on this page

  • @guitright "actually" that word enlightens us to your pseudo-intelligence.

  • To the person that works in a tough environment, DO NOT GIVE INTO THE PRESSURE!!!! DO NOT SMOKE IT EVEN ONCE!!! IT IS THE DEVIL'S TOOL!!!!!! Tell the basers to keep it for themselves they'll be happier that way. LOL . Believe me I'm in recovery.

  • thank you mommy lol

  • get some crack and have a blast

  • You wouldn't buy a car without knowing what you are about to drive, so don't take a drug before you know exactly what it will do etc. The decision will always be yours, but if you decide to do it, make sure it;s an informed decision and make sure you know all the other risks and take precautions to keep yourself as safe as possible and away from diseases and other associated illnesses etc.

  • This is not always the case, I know users who have had jobs, but as the Heroin takes over more and more, the job has been lost and they have turned to crime.

All these are beofre you even consider what it can do to your loved ones, who can really suffer from a persons addiction, not only through the lies and thefts, but from the destructive effect they see it having on their loved one.

Hope this helps, but if you are still thinking about trying it, just make sure you read up on it alot first

  • The 2 generally go hand in hand, many people take heroin to help with the severe come down that crack causes, but heroin causes a physical addiction, so both are bad, just don't do it. Why would you want to recognise someone on heroin??

There are plenty of government sites full of information on the internet, but my advice is, just don't do it. Heroin addicts generally appear unkept, have no job, commit low level crime to fund their habit and hate the life they live.

  • Can somebody ask my question?

i work in a toff enveiroment. There is some social pression.

  • Crack is a mentally addictive drug, not a physical one like heroin.

Crack will destroy your life so don't do it. If you haven't done it,then don't. It may have a massive high, but when that 15 minutes is over, the comedown sets in, which is shit, and when that finishes, life is the same, except your craving to get that high again. Which will ultimately lead to you being like this guys and thousands like him, who just wanted to try it once!!!! Don't do it.

  • Thanks, I didn't try yet.

Is heroin better or worst? How u regonize a ppl that r in heroin?

  • How somebody who never took crack can act and speek like a "crackhead"

Do i have a predisposition to this adiction? if i tasted one time will i became an adicted?

    i'm a hardworking,some men @work place are adicted,some times they wanted me to share them.I'm feeling confuse,now.

  • What a powerful interview - I recommend that everyone watches all 7 parts. Frank is an interesting guy whose story serves to reinforce that crack is indeed the devil.

  • to be so aware of one's own demise is a painfull place and come to cambridge,uk and see the intelligent people on herion and crack-students who stayed and got into the local scene.this guy has all the answers,he knows the 12 steps are the thing that combats addiction.if anything ,this shows you the power of addiction against rationality.all the best to you ,shut yer gob and get on with it!!!! peace

  • i also think he's one of the most articulate and intelligent crack addicts i have ever heard.

  • He's a cocaine addict, that's why.

  • wtf that gotta do wit it

  • coke can make you smart, and can increase brain power, i'm not saying its good for you.

  • i wonder where this guy is now

  • he should do fine, as long as you are honest with yourself and he is, i wish him luck, I can just imagine how hard it must be.

    he is very intelligent

  • Yeah, addiction is difficult. He's got some insight though, when he talks about it how you look at things -asking for money.

  • this guy is fuckin smart

  • do lots of drugs and stay homeless, its the life

  • I hope this guys got himself sorted out and off the streets.

  • His will power is what is keeping him there on the streets.

"Statistically" ~ 12 step has a 5% with and 5% without success rate. This has been proven by their own surveys.

What he fails to see, is that what he is saying is the very dangerous stuff that 12 step has shoved into his head.

  • Believe me there but for the grace of God goes

every single one of us.I know Addicts who were

one Lawyers/Managers/Professional Sportsmen/Doctors/Bricklayers or whatever the

shit needs destroying at source it's the "ONLY" way to beat this fucking awful shit.Politicians would feel very different if

their Kids were selling themselves for Smack or Candy.

  • ive got a bit more respect for this guy than most homeless crackheads

  • wait.. "ya know what i mean?"

  • wish i could talk to him. he's a genius with a chip on his shoulder

  • Wow. Smart guy.

  • some addicts are so intelligent...as for pan handling which i take is begging...id rather see a man beg for money than mug or steal...i had a friend who was a addict and they never hurt a single soul in there life or stole a single penny...what she got was given to her.

  • anybody know how to score in fargo nd?

  • haha cop

  • this guy is very intelligent...everyones got something to learn from him

  • fools got a lot to say

  • thats bullshit about the 12 step program

  • Addicts are the best bullshit artists.

  • I am a drug counselor and he is 100% correct about that.

  • He's a good guy.. interesting.

  • wowza! good job

  • I agree. I am passing this video along!

  • yup, it could made you lose lots of money. I saw some people on my country (Phil.), the one I know died because of drugs.

  • Very informative and should be seen by anyone suffering from a drug addiction of any kind
