  • What do u mean mini gastric bypass?

  • I cant wait until i get my suergery, i hope I have as much success and happiness as you have, I suffer from alot of depression and health issues, so I'm hopng that all is well for you and congratulations! Zina from VA

  • Great job! what is the patch? I'm just starting all the doctor visits towards my bypass.

  • Did you get Mini gastric bypass? where did you get it done from dear,

  • I found a place in Mexico to get the gastric sleave plication. Nothing will be removed from me. Just fold and stitch

  • never heard of a "mini gastric bypass before!

  • My mother has had serious complications from her gastric bypass. My mother is down to 92pounds and continues to drop weight. Her doctors will not help her we dont know what else to do.

  • Could you please tell me what I need to do to prepare myself for this. IMy doctor tells me I have to see him for 6 months first, could you tell me what i need to do to help me prepare, did you prepare yourself first this.

  • amazing and she looks great..good for her

  • GOOD FOR YUU GURL I NEED ONE OF THOES

  • GO GIRL GOOD 4 U............

  • Iam 375 and 5"9 and 16 years old I have been biking, walking, swimming, eating less, for about 1 month now and iam still 375 but I still need help any advise? PLEASE

  • Your calorie intake is too high. Calculate how many calories you take in on an average day and compare that with what you burn on an average day.

  • do oyu know how many calires you are taking in?

If not I would go to a website like spark people,. It is what I use to track my workouts and calories.

  • eating small portions and you are supposed to eat 1 hour after you wake up and then 4-5 hours later then another 4-5 hours later this keeps your matabolism working all day so your body is constantly breaking down food

  • "I was 272 pounds, I am 150 today!" Congratz, you sat on an operating table and had your body altered to be thinner. Idiots that lost weight slow with hard work, changing eating habits, and exercise... Those IDIOTS.

  • It is not as easy as you think. If you dont change your habbits. you could gain all back. IT is no easy way out. Although I do think surgery should be for people who either have serious health issues or very obese. I do hope she sticks with it. it will be a long road.

  • LOL people who don't have the self control and determination to lose weight with WILL POWER.

  • I weighed more than you just 6 months ago and surgery was never an option for me. At 272 lbs you can still exercise and eat well. That's all I've done and lost 85 pounds in 6 months. Surgery is a cheap way out!

  • Cheap way out....are you kidding? Have you noticed the price of this surgery?

  • Then you should go to a video on exercise and stay out of this area, happy that you were able to lose the weight hope you are able to keep it off.

  • It is not an easy way out to keep it off you have to count calries and eat a strict eating plan. Surgery offers a jumpstart to change your eating habbits and become more active. Although the first option is to change yeating habbit before tkaing on such a dangerous surgery. once you have done surgery there is no backing out

  • its not a easy way out its a tool to help you and you can either change the way u eat or not but the surgury doesnt do it all for you because if you dont change the way you eat you will go back to how you were there are many that go to taco bell or whatever right out of the hospitol and they dont loose the weight so it is hard

  • @ocpud2999

If you knew anything about the MGB you would know that this is the only Gastric Bypass that is reveresable if need be. So where is the down fall?

  • there is no downfall. I if the MGB works then its done its job. What needs to be understood is that it is no an easy way out . People who explore surgery have 2 ways of looking at it. 1 a spring board to weight loss. or 2 something that will sovle your weight issue forever. Anybody who has had any surgery will tell you the second school of thought can be dangerous.

  • lost 122lbs. Awsome

  • Comment removed

  • Check out the Quantum Scale. It never Shows how much you weigh. It only shows you much you have lost or gained from the time you start a diet. Way Cool !!

  • Had mine in Idaho, - 53 in 6 weeks

  • which is open due to an infection caught I would not wish what he is going through on my worst enemy. its not just what it does to the patient but what it does to your family we genuinely did not think he would make it though the night on wednesday and if he had been told its this or stay as you are (after several attempts to diet/exercise etc) he would have stayed as he was he lost 28lb in 2 days with the illness and we dont know when he is due home i just hope it is soon

  • in response to lewbec: if your husband is morbidly obese (a person usually has to be, in order to qualify for the surgery) and you found him unconcious on the floor one day, rushed to the ER and diagnosed with an MI (myocardial infarction, aka heart attack) and you had been told it's this or gastric bypass, would you choose the same? People DIE from obesity related diseases. He has an infection, it's being treated (is the wound healing by secondary intention?) he will be OK.

  • People need to seriously need to consider the consequences of the operation. There are so many people on here saying it is giving them the confidence to have it done yes she looks amazing and well done but my husband went through the same surgery two weeks ago and was released from hospital only to be re-admitted and has been in for nearly another week now with no date on when he can come back out he has a 12 inch gaping wound

    cont/d.....

  • @lewbec I know this was a long time ago but just wondering a few things. did your husband have his surgery with Dr. Rutlege and also how is he now?

  • Hi my name is Mary Ann i live in Az and am scheduled to have my surgery on May 28th. looking forward to it, Nervous

  • Ive just recently hit the gym again the last two months. lol. I lost about 20 pounds since then. I only drink water and work out 6 days a week for like an hour and its workin great. I still eat at mcdonalds to. I just get a bottle of water instead of soda. Most of the calories people intake is from the liquids you drink not the food. Ill even order a quarter pounder with no cheese. They are good for protein.

  • Very true, always gotta remember if you take the calories in you have to burn them off too, or what else can you expect?

  • To Wilrockion:

    wow 20pounds in just 2months?!

woow my aim is to lose 28pounds,(first).

seriouslyy D: i now weigh 158pounds and im the fattest girl in class(theres only two fat ones in my class,im one of em). it feels terrible to see everyone lookin good while you see yourself so ..fat. in asia, its so hard to find larger sized clothes. so i need helpp D: teachh me hoow u do it. must i go to the gym everyday?is there any other fast-way? :/ cause i would feel embarrased/shy if i go gym.. D:

  • Im a male and I went to a gym I was 30 stone and everybody was fine, I just used to wear black (no lycra tights) and it was good.

  • how heavy would u say it is necessary to get a mini-gastric bypass?

  • how do you "apply" for this surgery?? I have tried many different diets, I have done exercise.. nothing seems to work.. Im always hungry no matter how much i eat. I need help

  • Ask your GP a referal for a surgeon and/or an internist.

  • Are you a real person? I am starting to doubt Dr. R's youtubes because they are all so happy.....

  • well i had the surgery almost a week ago..im still in some pain..monday i will start soft foods...i cant wait cuz im tired of liquids. i had a hard time with pain the first couple of days...its gettin better but i know when i heal i will like it but right now i kinda wish i wouldnt of done it..

  • Hello, may I ask why do you wish you would have not done it? I am in the process of getting the surgery done. I am currently doing my 6mos of dieitcian visits, psych evaluation, and sleep apnea tests, etc. Let me know. I greatly appreciate it.

  • i just got approved for the surgery im excited..im 21 i used to work out all the time but almost 3 yrs ago i injured my back now i have a bulging disc..i cant do the things i use to..i gained a lot over 3 yrs..i have high blood pressure and depression also..
