  • Beautiful Song!!!

  • Love this song!! My senior year in high school '92. See this is the problem with the state of music right now - YALL AIN'T TALKIN BOUT NATHAN!!! So many songs from the 80's and the 90's so dear to my heart and real singers. So lucky to have been around in the 80's & 90's. Love you Lisa :)

  • Treat women right with gentleness and respect and you will be treated right in return.

  • When i first heard this song, i couldn't beleive it is a white woman singing it. Then i bought her greatest hits cd. Never heard of a soulful voice, such as Lisa Stansfield since Teena Marie!!!

  • I wish I could have let my late bf listen to this song. he would have understood.

  • This song is a classic! One of the classics that could never be remade and sound good.

  • Fellas if you have a great woman remember that this song is for her!!! Love Her Always I Love

    Mine...

  • That woman can sing

  • Lisa doesn't need to sing. The video speaks volumes for itself. Still this has to be one of BEST and REAL videos I've seen. Lisa can school some of these autotune singers out here.

  • lisa needs to work with brotha babyface again and put out some hits

  • 5 dislikes?wth........probably men who were/are posing as women

  • SHAPE Headquaters/ The IC Club/ Bldg 7/ C - AirBase/ Downtown ATH U know the deal!!!

  • The older woman int he black dress looks like Susan Boyle

  • Love this song.....reminds me of my best friend.....The Jewell From Jersey...

At that point of my life I was going through somethings...and he was truly there for me....Music is the soundtrack of life..never know what you 're doing, how, with who..an it's a great reminder of Life .(Music )...Will make you remember when.

  • BEEN MY FAVORITE SONG SINCE I WAS 17 AND I JUST TURN 29.

  • Give me a break, most divorces are started by women who simply think there is something else out there only to find that the someone new is a one or two night stand. I busted my ass, provided a good home and was very dedicated to the marriage. Now, 10 years later, I have the kids and she whores around and still claims the victim.

  • All silly, selfish men need to read between the lines in this song. It is beautiful and the message is strong!!!!

  • this is the ANTHEM THAT ALL MEN SHOULD SING & LISTEN TO EVERY DAY TO THE WOMEN IN THEIR LIVES!!!

  • I forgot how AMAZING Lisa's voice was... Omg... I used to play this constantly.

  • HAHAHA, They played this song in SPACED the UK sitcom 2nd series!

  • wow...so freaking real =(

  • she favors the model Linda Evangelista in this video

  • There are so many women out there like this in the world. So many of us are smiling and not showing the fact that we are being abused mentally, physically, and verbally. With this,We tend 2 forget what really matters most... We are very strong individuals to go thru what we go thru in a day outside of the home and STILL come back home and deal with the same thing.. People cant understand why women just snap. This video is a prime reason why..WOMEN.. KEEP YOUR HEADS UP AND YOUR HEARTS STRONG.

  • @tungkandy69 wonderfully said...so true

  • @tungkandy69 - I totally agree. Women need to know their self worth. And leave when a man begins to stop loving and appreciating them. I left such a man who repeately lied and cheated on me and he later regretted it and probably will until he dies.

  • I love this song it take me back to the 90s lovely memories

  • i have tears in my eyes listening to this wow after all this time still crying

  • music this beutiful no longer exist...r.i.p

  • the last 30 seconds of this vocal are some of the best singing ever recorded

  • Outstanding song, the best of her career..... Great video too! I wish we had singers like that today, vocalist that sang without the distraction of dancers, without the constant vocal gyrations that are so prevalent today.......... shows off a voice but is extremely boring.

  • When he remembers how it use to be...sometimes it's too late. I love this song and it means so much to me.

  • Yes I look a mess, but I don't love you any less

  • Damn, that is one beautiful woman...

  • God knows this the absolute truth

  • This is real singing.

  • This is the true women's anthem. I love this song since the first time I heard it

  • This is the true women's anthem. I love this song since the first time I heard it

  • love love love this song incredible Miss Stansfield

  • some people just have an unfair amount of talent..

  • I this song should be played every eleventh of September to remind women of all faiths to stay strong no matter what the odds.

  • @nenaphillips Until the same happens again....

  • Wow, I forgot just how stunningly beautiful Lisa Stanfield is.

  • @SuperKhill I agree; she is stunning.

  • This song definitely proves the power that music has: it's message, the lyrics, the delivery and THE PASSION! Love the version by Dame Shirley Bassey, too. One of Ms. Stansfield's best.

  • LOVE THIS SONG #2ALLREALWOMEN

  • wow this came out when I was in six grade and I song this at school....Not till this time in my life do I really appreciate the words in thisong.

  • wow this came out when I was in six grade and I song this at school....

  • GREAT SONG! even years later it still gets to me. was brought up to always respect a woman (which I do). this song/video shows why every man should. the line that totally sums it all is 'I may not be lady but I'm all woman'. thanks for posting this terrific song by a beautiful voice/woman - LISA STANSFIELD!

  • WOW this is my life!!!! Work my ass off, but I don't look a mess, just need a little love ya know!

  • i understand where you are coming from but that was depicting a housewife although they didnt show any kids....in the olden days people where more homely...

  • This song is awsome! But the vid stinks! A woman with a mop bucket to prove she's "all woman"? How fucking ridiculous! She should have just had them walking in Central Park some where!

  • Christina Aguilera needs to take notes. She needs to learn how to sing with soul without overdoing it.

  • @josbo51715 exactly! i've said that elsewhere too.. i love that she just sings the song, nothing more and nothing less.. as well as she can sing it. no need to ornament it.

  • This is Lisa Stansfield's best song in my book. Very deep and powerful

  • When BET Midnight Love was going strong Lisa Stansfield always had some of the most passionate songs on there.

  • Her heart was definitely in her songs; an expression of her soul.

  • this use to be my jam when i was a kid im 31 years old now I still remember every word this girl can sang!!!!

  • Ohh what happened to her. She like dissappeared this was when music actually meant something.

  • Blue eyed soul, at it's best....love this song, always been a fan of Lisa Stanfield....

  • I love this song...hadn't heard it in so many years. I can appreciate it even more now that I'm much older.

Oh, and I am a male, by the way.

  • @TheRiobezerko Men can appreciate greatness, as well.

  • THE ONLY WHITE GURL BESIDES TEENA MARIE..I GOT TO SAY; UHH..IS SHE WHITE?...*smiles*

  • If only the men in our lives knew...

  • This man has!

  • this is one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard, but it's powerful and moving too.

  • you betta sang, Lisa!!!

  • ok maybe its just me....BUT if a lot men today stopped and actually listened to this song and songs like this keeping a woman happy wouldn't be hard to do and their woman wouldn't have to call me....but again...maybe its just me...LOL

  • One of my all time favorite songs. Her CD is wonderful..

    scally2318

  • I love that she depicted that all women can be neglected and need to be appreciated by the men in their life.

  • "So sweet the love that used to be!"

  • love this damn song

  • Lisa Stansfield- the NEW "Ivory Queen of Soul".

  • @vxy357 not too sure about that TEENA MARIE will ALWAYS hold that title she had soul funk blues plus more

  • This powerful song STILL brings tears to my eyes.

  • @till7man it's such a sad song.

  • @till7man why is that,....tears,... what for,...that's life, what you can do about it! THE song is beautifull, and that's all to it!

  • amazing

  • Love this Girl Real Music!!!! Please Believe another soulful sister!!!!!!!!!!! Ms. Lisa Stanfield

  • I remember this song when Stone Love used to play this in Jamaica. I was nine and the lyrics still ring in my ears. An ode to female empowerment.

  • what the hell happened to this singer? 2 really strong songs w/ equally excellent vocals, then nada..

  • Just absolutely Beautiful a Singer, she sounds like Anita Baker near the end of the song. Lisa is so talented. Thank you for your lending us your Voice to enjyoy Lisa.

  • @emmettk who really is surprised? People sing songs who cares about the color for real? and this song is 20 years old so I don't think anyone's surprised about it

  • It's all been said, and i agree unequivocally. beautiful song/singer. Thank you gferdinandus2 for posting.

  • this is my jam

  • i luv this song

  • When I first saw this it brought tears to my eyes. This is a masterpiece!!!

  • Thank you, Lisa.

  • ya love this song

  • Holy Crap I adore this song

  • I love lisa stansfield and teena marie my girls and they can sanggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love when she says “You’re not the only one". Sometimes men, kids, and everyone in between, forgets that women need encouragement too.

  • I love this this is for my blue eyed soul sisters as well for our black , and Latinos sistera

  • I thought she was black lol but I love her from I was like 6 lol and I am now 23 from the first time i saw this video back in wat 91 early 90's she an amazing singer :D

  • incredible vocal performance, unbelievable

  • People should understand the context of my remark at the time it was made. There's nothing political about it. Some people had already said they had thought Lisa was black and that's fine, but a few had qualified their praise, "soulful for a white girl". Another person acted as is there was only room for one, like Teena Marie. I was just responding to things I had seen on various threads. Don't be thin-skinned, people- I'm black myself.

  • @emmettk ... I have to agree with you....by the way, I thought your comment was one of the most directly accurate and well applied comments I've seen in a while.

  • @daretosayit Thanks for your comment. I had intended for it to be a completely positive remark. It hadn't occurred to me it would be offensive to anyone. That was not my intent.

  • I love this song.

  • I love this song

  • So you're a politician now. WHITES/BLACKS/HIGH YELLOW? What is it? You' re so focused on skin color, that you ignore the obvious. The love of music brought me here. For the love of music, I will stay. Make your own half-baked choices.

  • LISA where you at we loved your music and embraceded you where you at please come back with your music

  • luv her voice & miss her music!!

  • love this song, this british lady can sing

  • I still love this song!

  • ~i heard this song when I was about 12 and I've been in love with it since.

  • Lisa is both a classy lady and all woman! I wish I could have seen her perform in person. When I listen to her music she brings tears to my eyes because she is that good!

  • man i love this song first heard it while in Germany and yo emmettk not all black ppl do that so dont put all in one category back to lisa i loved her music still do

  • Whoever thinks popular music is as good as it used to be needs to listen to this song. A great song, with a great message, delivered flawlessly by one of my favorite singers.

  • Now as an adult, I understand this song: A woman, no matter how old she is, how she looks or long she's been married still wants to feel like a woman and appreciated by her man. She's more than just 'girlfriend, wife or mother'. She's the same woman who was wooed and courted. She's still that same woman years later.

  • I love this song.,and video. Yeah Lisa!!! I miss talent(sigh). Now we are stuck with the Gaga's of the world.(Sigh again)

  • Iove this song use to listen to it when I was 8 so but it was her voice and the video I remember and I just found it wow still sound da same from back then beautiful

  • SO TRUE. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE SONGS THAT NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE.. LOVE LISA... SHE IS AWESOME..

  • I'm surprised this song didn't crossover into #1 on the Pop Charts because this was a #1 R&B hit but it didn't crossover well enough. Such a shame because you would think during a time where men had no respect for women, that this would become a female Pop anthem for the 90s, but I guess some silly women prefer to have some rock and roll in this song in order to be their anthem.

  • Grrr, reminds me of my situation with my ex. happy that is over and done with.

  • one thing i have learned that no matter how much a person loves you they have there limits and there love can be pushed away ,,so think before you start treating that person like shit....because when there gone its when you feel the pain ,,if you stil love them.......

  • this song speaks VOLUMES NOT JUST HER VOICE,, i so love her

  • WHENEVER I feel down and out I come here and listen to this song. The world has a way of making "us" believe that we are just so-so. Lisa when she did this song, I doubt that she knew how much she would bless others! It is an amazing song!

  • I work outside loading and unloading planes. I do this in the rain, snow, cold, heat, etc. There are times when I feel less than my white collar sisters (esp coming home soaking weak and bone tired) this song what I think of at those times

I'm not a classic lady, but all woman!!!

  • I work outside loading and unloading planes. I do this in the rain, snow, cold, heat, etc. There are times when I feel less than my white collar sisters (esp coming home soaking weak and bone tired) this song what I think of at those times

  • I have adored this singer since I was a girl...a true original artist singing about real issues and real love, not just lust, sex, money, and fame.

  • :-)*~~~

  • I love this song. All women, regardless of race, can appreciate feeling neglected and unappreciated. Trust me. I have been there.

  • @TheCalebson I agree wholeheartedly, being somewhat of a feminist myself as well as being raised by a woman for twenty-four years; i know this song empowers women to be strong on the inside if not on the outside and i know it also shows men that women need love and affection time after time.

  • This song brings meaning for me and my husband going on six years which im happy. As a transgender women, there are challenges that i face in life. Sometimes i feel sad yet l learn to deal with what ever comes my way!!!! So, take it from me ladies when i say that cooking, cleaning, and looking is always in your favore. Remember all your women what ever the situation may be, love yourself, your man and especially your beautifully nuiqueness you eluminate from with in u.

  • Pure class, talent, and beauty! Humanity needs more Lisa Stansfield.

  • Pure class, talent, and beauty!

  • this song the shit

  • My ex wife loved this song.. She was All Class, All Style, and yes, All Woman.. I do miss you Tori..

  • this song alsways makes me cry I love it!!

  • I can't help it I just LOOOOOOOOOVE this song so much. For one, the sound itself is really good. She sings from her guts. And then, the lyrics. This is a very good, timeless, track. Thank you *so much* for posting!

  • I miss real music.

  • thats right baby you may not be a lady but your aaaalllllllllll woman*

  • I love Lisa Stansfield and this is a great song...but this video has been hilarious to me ever since I first saw it in 1992! I crack up every time I watch it LOL

  • Such a powerful song..................

  • @52hogan

  • If she never sings another song, she sang the hell out of this song.

  • @txsweedee She sure did.

  • @txsweedee Its one of her best, no disagreement there!

  • @txsweedee, plus the video make it even better.

  • @txsweedee She sured did.

  • Thank you for posting this video. I love it. Lisa Stansfield is another beautiful, talented, and inspirational artist from God.

  • All relationships are work,so sometimes it's nice to be off.

  • Love this song! She made you feel the pain that the woman in the song was feeling. But homegirl looked like she was about to make her debut on Snapped at 1:03 lol

  • @shebop1980 you damn right about that.

  • @shebop1980 lmao@shebop 1980

  • classic song

  • I LOVE THIS SONG IT GIVE STRENGTH I ALSO RECOMMEND PRAYER!

  • SHE HAS SO MUCH SOUL, SHE REMINDS ME OF THE LATE GREAT TEENA MARIE.

  • @tmadame1 At one point Lisa was the heir-apparent to Teena, with three #1 R&B hits on record. I imagine the more popular she got in R&B the more her record company's top brass tried to push her to go in a pop direction, and like Teena she pushed back. Why cross over when your audience is crossing over to you?

  • if you don't want to give the woman in your life the biggest hug and kiss and tell her you appreciate her after hearing this song, you have no heart

  • Lisa's makeup is flawless!

  • lisa , this song is great for woman boy you hit it and a voice but all woman wow

  • this brit woman has been doing since she was old enough to sing...she has been awesome since i was in my twenties and at sixty-one ...she stills rocks my whole life...her ..the depth of her singing and songs put me in the mind of another great singer..p.h...this is what being a human BEING..is all about..we are all the same..from where it counts..inside ...out...i grew in the southern states and the same soul...is found in my sisters and brothers in the other mother land...England

  • Lisa. Keep singing!

  • It's time for black folks to stop acting surprised when a white artist sings in a soulful style. It's not that rare anymore. Just as there are black opera singers and country singers , white jazz singers, etc. Music is universal, so let's let it be. BTW Love the song

  • @emmettk

We are not one bit surprise, on the contrary Flatered for your insightful awareness and justification of a universal misconception of it's "ORIGIN". Black Folks..............Black Opera Singers & Country SIngers (Black), you just happenned to confirm it's origin ( the HISTORY..........OUR HISTORY!!. ) So Let It Be........

  • @emmettk n That's What's up Music is music

  • @lexxin952 Thanks. And even though no one has asked, I'm sure some might wonder. I'm black myself.

  • @emmettk Echo Dat SH%T-

  • @emmettk Right on sista
