I saw Marty Wilde do this last night. Great band. I've never been a fan of Marty, but I must say at 71 he is one great singer, held every note. A great entertainer. I only went as Jet Harris was on the bill. But a great show,
A song richly performed with some special cadence. It seems it has a slow touch behind every word, but surely its sung in the natural way. Why would someone put a meaning on every word?
A wonderful version of a wonderful song, and - dare I say it? - far better than the rather limp version by Elvis in "King Creole". Long live rock 'n' roll and its ability to move both heart and feet!
one of those classic songs ;-) great singing and stage prescence from Mr Wilde. Great to see great singers singing like this after so long in the business. Rocker through and through
This guy is superb he still "has it"

Cliff Richard is rated, and Marty isn't. That's fair, is it? But who ever said life is fair?
Thanks for posting this, and helping in some small way to get people to realise what talent Kim's dad has.

Elvis recorded this for King Creole but it was vever used in the movie. His version is so much better than this one.

I'm surprised not to see a comment as to the comparison of this song here with Conway Twitty's "Lonely Blue Boy".
