I have two large router tables. I think it would be cool to have your template made from 0.4.0 aluminum or high density plastic like 1/8th in. Sintra. If you can email me a traced pattern will make you a couple.
For those who continue to worry about heat you can go the route of metal heat shields as has been pointed out by other commentaters or you can also try a a product called Heat Shield.
Heat Shield is a paint that contains ceramic and is used by guys who build RC jets models to protect the body of the aircraft from the heat of the jet engine.
I've used this stuff inside the handguards of an AK rifle with great results.
I honestly anticipated there would be heat issues too. First, there is almost no direct contact between the hot-spots of the Ruger and the plastic. Second, the Ruger just doesn't get hot! I've shot many rounds through my Ruger and the barrel just gets warm. The plastic of this stock has a relatively low softening point- Around 200 deg. F it gets soft and pliable. So heat proofing isn't a bad idea. But... it would take a lot of effort/abuse to get the gun to that temperature.
What about taking it apart so you can clean/lube the internal parts like the bolt? The stock does come apart doesn't it? Or is the receiver stuck in there?
Most red dot scopes have no magnification. This is also known as 1X magnification. 1 x 1 = 1 - I really do not like the red dot and I have installed a little Chinese 4x military scope I got at a gun show years ago. This red dot I bought on Ebay and is made by UTG. It's both red and green dot, it's not that high of quality in my opinion.
To handle heat problems and the case melting, orfer a 16" carbon or ceramic barrel for the 10/22 I believe that, but I am not sure if Cabellas has then I think they sell Green River barrels in ceramic with boron nitride finishes don't quote me i have seen a recent cabellas but at one time they had these
As it turns out, it has never gotten hot enough to do any damage. Heck it barely gets warm after a lot of shooting. After 2 years, it's still holding up.
I believe it will work. The problem is, it is no longer legal due to the wacky gun laws. It becomes a short-barreled rifle -SBR. You might want to verfify that yourself though since I am not a gun law expert.
I'm not sure about the exact gun you used, but i think many airsoft P90's use ABS plastic thats pretty good with heat.
But i expect the only places you'd have a problem with it anyway would be the barrel and maybe around the action. So you could even add some heat shielding foil inside the stock when you make it to help with that problem.
I've also been told it's possible to convert the ruger to an automatic; Have you heard of this? And if so, have you considered converting one of these?
I think some of the higher grade airsofts user a better type of plastic. I wouldn't consider the Well airsoft being high grade at all. BUT... after nearly 2 years of owning these I haven't cracked them or melted them.
The only direct contact between a "hot spot" of the Ruger and the stock is where it exits the stock and I used high temp epoxy there. Most semi-auto guns can be made full auto, but it's not advised and illegal to do.
for the heat problem maybe try a metal head shield over the barrel and just make that opening where the barrel comes out from a little larger to fit it. or you can just put some holes in the stock.
But there isn't a heat problem. I honestly considered heat might be a problem initially and would have to address that. The .22 just doesn't heat up more than "warm" when rapid firings, unlike a larger caliber gun.
When I made this video, I still thought heat might be a problem. I guess it is possible to REALLY get it hot if someone put their mind to it. I think it would be borderline abuse of the gun though whether it had this stock or not.
Ahh... didnt know about the SBR part of title II. Thanks for clearing that up. At least a title II isint to hard to get here. A buddy of mine got a can on his buckmark for x-mas. Had to do an interview with the local sherrif, said he was the most pro-gun cop he had ever met ;-) Okay, next question, if possible, i only want to bed the reciever to the stock. Stock 10/22's actually shoot pretty good if you can free float the barrel. Any ideas on how?
I am NOT an expert on gun laws, but others have brought it to my attention so I have poked around looking for answers.
The way I have the standard Ruger bedded is at the exit point of the stock and it is supported at the rear at the top, by the trigger guard and around the breach area. Basically 4 areas. I think the barrel could be bedded way back at the breach area fine and float where it exits the stock. My goal was to get the most solid fit.
First of all, awesome project ;-) My question is wether the new Ruger 22 Charger would work. If you dont know, the charger is a 10/22 in pistol form with a 10" barrel. Since the stock 10/22 barrel is 18.5", as long as there is 8.5" of barrel sticking out of the P90 conversion, it should work, right? Plus, you avoid any legal concers about cutting down a rifle since your actually bringing up a pistol to a carbine size.
I am pretty sure you could put a Charger in this stock. I am also pretty sure it wouldn't be legal. The Charger's barrel would probably just barely stick out the P90's stock. My P90 has about 7" of barrel sticking out. Since the Charger would no longer be considered a pistol, it would have to abide by rifle legal specs. and would be too short. I realize that gun laws make little sense sometimes.
A shoulder stock doesnt make a pistol illegal. eg. you can legaly buy the shoulder stock for a glock 18 and put it on your 17. what matters is what the reciever was origionally sold as. A rifle reciever must have a barrel at least 16" long or it will be illegal. A pistol reciever can have whatever the hell length of barrel you want on it. eg. putting a charger barrel on a 10/22 reciever is illegal. Putting a 10/22 barrel on a charger is legal. OR if you have a complete 10/22, you install
an aftermarket reciever from a charger (which has its own serial # and must be shipped to a FFL) you can now legaly put on a charger barrel or a 10/22 barrel, as the weapon is now considered a pistol with a shoulder stock. Well, at least this is legal to do here in oregon.
Impressive...I handle firearms of all kinds on a daily basis and recently heard of this conversion. I wanted to see what it entailed. In '79 there was a woman named Jillian who was walking down a creek one day and little did she know, there was a homicidle maniac following her. When she heard a noise behind her,the man grabbed her and knocked her out. When she woke she was in up in a dark factory and the man was there. After a few momentsshe was raped and then the man slit her throat. Now that you have read this, every night, she will be standing outside your door looking in ure window post dis on 7 dif vids to stop her
Great idea. I built one with some improvements. I added aluminum heat shields inside, extended mag release access to the ruger safety. I can use the original ruger 10 round mags. As to the fake mag on top, I replaced the upper areas with an aluminum plate and mounted a rail. The aluminum on top acts as another heat sink. Red dot mounted to the ruger rail with a riser and cantilever mount. I improved the trigger some.
Pictures show more of the detail but I can't post them
An extended mag release can only help. I have yet to put one on mine, I've been wanting to do that since I built it. I could just drill and tap the stock one and add my own but it's easier to just buy one. I initially anticipated heat being a issue but I can barely get the barrel warm after a lot of shooting. You can use Windows Movie maker and make a slide show and post that. It would be cool to see it.
Heat has not been a problem. Even after repeated firing, the barrel of the 22 just does not get very hot. Luke warm at best. No problem cleaning the rifle with the stock on. If I need to do a full disassembly, splitting the stock only takes a minute.
My other videos show the placement better than this video. Yes, the P90's trigger is more or less a "remote" trigger that is about 12" away from the Ruger's actual trigger.
It's not glued at all to the stock. It's clamped into the stock by all the screws that hold the two halves together. You can still clean the barrel with the stock installed, but if you want to pull the bolt and trigger out, you just split the stock. It only takes a minute to unscrew it.
The TM will work, I've seen it done. You should visit the "customrifles" (Google search) forums as it's a great source of what people have done. This VERY cheap Well airsoft is just one of many ideas. It's super-low budget, it works, and allows people to own and shoot a working replica of a "dream gun". The TM is much higher quality. No one would ever argue that.
one guy at our local range did this but he actually used a full metal replica that was broken off ebay for $20(cuz it was broken)and he shortened the barrel and it looks amazingly real
Not sure if you saw my How-to-build video. Very few items needed and can be bought at a hobby shop. 1/8" steel rod, 1/4" lexan or microply. (less than 6"x6" square) Epoxy putty or in tube (JB weld, etc) A dremel or die grinder. Flat files, small round files, etc. Masking tape for marking cuts.
Nice video, I may try something like this looks like a fun project, surprised I get to be the first to give you a hard time about calling it a "clip".
There are a shit ton of rules regarding firearms, but most have to do with length and number of not US parts. Not about what the item is made with or from. Some states have try in the past to pass laws about what materials guns could me made of but with the recent increase in popularity of "plastic" frames (read glock). Most of them have been overturned, or where shot down before they made it to the governors desk.
what is that small mag thats in your hand? where did you buy it? how much, and whats the brand name? the reason im asking is because it barely sticks ot which ads more realism to the gun.
It is a ten round Eagle mag. Honestly, I doubt you'll find too many people who like Eagle mags. I bought it off ebay, I think it was like a 2 for $10 deal or something. Butler Creek also makes ten round clips too and is a little shorter even. They have metal feed lips and you get much more reliable feeding from Butler Creek mags. Hope that helps.
Yes, only the Eagle have the slider on the back of them. I think putting an extended mag release on the Ruger itself would benefit though. I haven't done it yet, but I think it would only help.
In video 2, it briefly shows it being fired. (many people doubted it actually fired) I haven't been able to film a better video of it really being abused to prove that the stock will hold up.
No, because the feed ports are not lined up. I think the Well's feed port is an inch or two further back. Other than that, it will fit on the Well's stock.
What brand of magazine did you use for this demo. I've had difficulty finding a mag with mag release deal on the back. great vids by the way. I'll giving it a shot when i have spare change for the fnP90. oh and I did want to know how well you can access the bolt catch lever that sits right behind the mag release.
Eagle clips have the built in slider mag release. But, Eagles are well-known as being lousy magazines. The mag-well/opening allows easy access to the bolt catch, and there is plenty of room for cleaning the gun, etc.
The outer tube is 1½" steel tubing. I welded a thin cap on the end. This slides over a spool that is made of 3/4" tubing and on the ends are set collars that I had to turn both on the inside and outside on a lathe to fit. A single setscrew holds the spool on the barrel, and then the 1½" tubing slides over that and is held by another setscrew on top of the first one. It's more complicated than it needs to be. Lol. It does pretty much need to be turned on a lathe if things are to line up right.
hey thats freaken awsome with what u did. the other day i was at a sporting goods store and walked past a G36C airsoft gun im buying a 10/22 ruger soon. and i wanted to turn the 10/22 into a G36C. im just not sure though iv never taken a (real gun) apart befor i dont wana mes somthing up and not beable to do it or even put it back together again what should i do? like i mean if i take it apart is it esay to put back together agin?
There's a guy who did a G36 (search Ruger G36) and it looked pretty good. I can say the airsoft is much more complicated than the Ruger is. The Ruger is very simple to take apart. There are many good videos on disassembly of the Ruger 1022 on YT. "ruger 10/22 build" is good (I have it as a favorite)
Hah, I just realised something. Of all the ignorant claims of airsoft guns being dangerous because they might be "converted to fire real rounds", now someone's actually done it. XD
I could have converted a loaf of French bread into a stock too, ya know? hehe Airsofts themselves can be dangerous, simply because they look so real and if you brandished it at the wrong place, you could be shot.
Yeah thats the thing. Simply looking lethal can still turn out lethal itself, in the wrong situation. Other than that, the idea of some simple reworking to fire real rounds is ludicrous. Their most harmful application would be as bizare clubs.
So... when ya gonna have up a video for a .22 caliber french assassin loaf?
I tried to look up your barrel but didn't find any decent pictures so I could really check it out. Like the guy who asked about whether a bull barrel would fit, it probably would but it probably make the gun unbalanced quite a bit. I know the standard bbl. works, and it's all a very tight squeeze. You've invested in a high dollar barrel, and this P90 mod is really more of a "fun gun" than a serious gun enthusiast's weapon. I've had a few others ask if I would build them one (continued)
but my intentions here (video 3) were to show folks how to build their own and not profit off this idea. For what I sold one stock for on Ebay, a person could buy both a 10/22 and a P90 stock, and a Dremel tool. That's the way I see it. I really had hoped to start seeing other people run with my idea and give the project a try and post their videos. Ah.. I'd glow with pride seeing others post some videos of their successes.
Watched all your videos on this that is a lot of work, really lol. Think I'll just go with the mini bull Pup frame. But is was very informative, good job.
I went into a lot of detail so it might seem like it is a lot of work, but it's a project no one should be intimidated to attempt. Take one little step at a time and you should have no problem. Minimal tools required.
I'm not an engineer, but in my job, I have to design machines and devices, modify existing machines, do machinist work, fabrication, repairs, and troubleshooting of machines. It was pure luck that the 1022 fit in this thing. I guess it was my natural curiousity and need to take things apart that led to this. I used to take all my toys apart as a kid to see how they worked. At least now, I know how to put them back together!
That area I opened up to around 5/8" measures .810 on the outside. That round ring of plastic (fake threads) would have to be removed. Without actually eying up the barrel and the stock, it's hard to say if it would fit in the rest of the stock, but I believe there would be room. The diam. of the std. tapered barrel is only .625 where it passes through the stock at the end. Isn't the bull bbl. straight and not tapered?
Honestly, I think with a bull barrel this set up would be a little clunky to handle. It would probably fit and all, but it would probably very unbalanced with the heavier barrel and all. The standard, cheapo 1022 is probably better suited for this app since the center of gravity is at the rear-grip.
I'm going to answer a few questions people may wonder about this. -- Can you use the stock 10 rd. mag? Yes, but removing it is more difficult. -- What is the distance between the Ruger trigger and the P90? It's almost 12 inches. -- Can one use the new Ruger Charger to do this? I believe you can. The barrel wouldn't stick out as much too. -- How is the balance? Can you shoot this with one hand? With a scope attached, the gun is -slightly- heavier in the back. Yes, with 1 hand.
In the last build I used "JB Kwik", a metalized epoxy that is very durable. I also used the stick/putty type metalized epoxies and prefer those, less goopy.
-Did you come up with idea?-
I did. I have yet to find any references on the web of anyone else doing this prior to my building it. Anything is possible though.
I did sell one on there. It was a big headache answering all the emails asking if it was a "cheap airsoft", etc. I had to be careful not to meantion that in the auction so I wouldn't "ruin it" for those selling airsofts on there- ebay bans things at the drop of a hat. I think I had one copy-cat who tried to sell the same idea and he seemed to have more headaches than I did.
That is why I built mine. I didn't like the price or look of the Muzzlelite. My P90 has a flashlight, red/green dot scope, and laser. It's more suited for confined areas than a full-length rifle, and would work well in the dark.
-Can kids shoot this?-
Small kids might find it hard to fit their hand on the grip and reach the trigger.
Yes, I forgot to meantion a cheap sling comes with the P90 set. One end clips to the left side on the dummy charging knob, and the other to the butt of the stock. Neither is correct- as far as remaining true to realism.
-How do you put a trigger lock on this?-
Safety is important to me. I use a cable lock through the open breach of the Ruger. One can also drill a hole for a padlock on the P90 trigger and lock that.
-Can you use an extended trigger release on this?-
I believe so. I just haven't gotten around to getting one myself.
-Will bore cleaners attack the plastic?-
I have yet to see anything attack the plastic. I would think acetone would eat it up though. WD40, Outers Nitro Solvent, Kroil, and oil, have all been sprayed on my P90 without any damage.
That's what's cool about converting these stocks. You can take one Ruger action and drop it into a variety of other stocks. I've been looking at the F2000 and it looks like an easy conversion as well.
Call it a magazine :)

It would be cool to see it.

the smell of melting plastic ...good luck ..not easy job to clean the internals?
gasdorf 3 years ago
Heat has not been a problem. Even after repeated firing, the barrel of the 22 just does not get very hot. Luke warm at best. No problem cleaning the rifle with the stock on. If I need to do a full disassembly, splitting the stock only takes a minute.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
nvm I got it figured out.....so it that metal bar you put on there to push the triger of the 10/22 from the P90's?
miltonbk45 3 years ago
I dont get it the ejection for the shells is in the back but the trigger is still forward the trigger should be behind it???
miltonbk45 3 years ago
My other videos show the placement better than this video. Yes, the P90's trigger is more or less a "remote" trigger that is about 12" away from the Ruger's actual trigger.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
how do you clean the internals if the reciever is glued in to the stock?
M4RC14N0 3 years ago
It's not glued at all to the stock. It's clamped into the stock by all the screws that hold the two halves together. You can still clean the barrel with the stock installed, but if you want to pull the bolt and trigger out, you just split the stock. It only takes a minute to unscrew it.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
oh ok. think im gona try it with the tokyo marui or ill just get the krinker plinker.
M4RC14N0 3 years ago
The TM will work, I've seen it done. You should visit the "customrifles" (Google search) forums as it's a great source of what people have done. This VERY cheap Well airsoft is just one of many ideas. It's super-low budget, it works, and allows people to own and shoot a working replica of a "dream gun". The TM is much higher quality. No one would ever argue that.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
thanks allot for the help keep doing what you do.
M4RC14N0 3 years ago
one guy at our local range did this but he actually used a full metal replica that was broken off ebay for $20(cuz it was broken)and he shortened the barrel and it looks amazingly real

Do you have a build of material for this project? That would be a great winter project. Any way If you do can you email them to me?
Thanx.
roque257 3 years ago
Not sure if you saw my How-to-build video. Very few items needed and can be bought at a hobby shop. 1/8" steel rod, 1/4" lexan or microply. (less than 6"x6" square) Epoxy putty or in tube (JB weld, etc) A dremel or die grinder. Flat files, small round files, etc. Masking tape for marking cuts.

Nice video, I may try something like this looks like a fun project, surprised I get to be the first to give you a hard time about calling it a "clip".

"Clip" is the nickname I gave to my magazine. :)

i was joking, but is it legal to put a gun in a toy body? I'm not being mean
wafflecommander15 3 years ago
There are a shit ton of rules regarding firearms, but most have to do with length and number of not US parts. Not about what the item is made with or from. Some states have try in the past to pass laws about what materials guns could me made of but with the recent increase in popularity of "plastic" frames (read glock). Most of them have been overturned, or where shot down before they made it to the governors desk.

what is that small mag thats in your hand? where did you buy it? how much, and whats the brand name? the reason im asking is because it barely sticks ot which ads more realism to the gun.
22calfan 3 years ago
It is a ten round Eagle mag. Honestly, I doubt you'll find too many people who like Eagle mags. I bought it off ebay, I think it was like a 2 for $10 deal or something. Butler Creek also makes ten round clips too and is a little shorter even. They have metal feed lips and you get much more reliable feeding from Butler Creek mags. Hope that helps.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
well i found he butler creek but they dont have that latch to release them on the back of the mag
22calfan 3 years ago
Yes, only the Eagle have the slider on the back of them. I think putting an extended mag release on the Ruger itself would benefit though. I haven't done it yet, but I think it would only help.

hey buddy, I have a question. is it legal to make such dangerious weapons like this. is it legal in ohio?

I didn't make a dangerous weapon.

Are there any P90 build forums, where I can get still pictures of the build?

Yeah, google "customrifles" I believe it is the top of the list.

can u make a vid on firing ur gun?
pakchris 3 years ago
In video 2, it briefly shows it being fired. (many people doubted it actually fired) I haven't been able to film a better video of it really being abused to prove that the stock will hold up.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
lol, people obviously have never fired a .22 before to say that, things have like little or no recoil.
Wulfmancala 3 years ago
with shot shells they do if you know what i mean they have small recoil the rifle bullet has good recoil more grains
tfoshohoe 3 years ago
Can you still use the TM mag on the wells p90, even if you want to keep it an airsoft gun?
akari483 3 years ago
No, because the feed ports are not lined up. I think the Well's feed port is an inch or two further back. Other than that, it will fit on the Well's stock.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
What brand of magazine did you use for this demo. I've had difficulty finding a mag with mag release deal on the back. great vids by the way. I'll giving it a shot when i have spare change for the fnP90. oh and I did want to know how well you can access the bolt catch lever that sits right behind the mag release.
pock8size 3 years ago
Eagle clips have the built in slider mag release. But, Eagles are well-known as being lousy magazines. The mag-well/opening allows easy access to the bolt catch, and there is plenty of room for cleaning the gun, etc.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
could you do it with other guns? like put another airsoft gun inside the p90?
germanboy132 3 years ago
what brand made the one u have?? is it well?
SoManyNamesUsed 3 years ago
Yes, it is a Well.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
You know if the heat issue spooks you, you might want to use header wrap on the barrle? And I still think you should sell it as a kit, lol!
pumpotheclown 3 years ago
That's cool, how did you build the fake suppressor and get it to fit tight.
stixx2000 3 years ago
The outer tube is 1½" steel tubing. I welded a thin cap on the end. This slides over a spool that is made of 3/4" tubing and on the ends are set collars that I had to turn both on the inside and outside on a lathe to fit. A single setscrew holds the spool on the barrel, and then the 1½" tubing slides over that and is held by another setscrew on top of the first one. It's more complicated than it needs to be. Lol. It does pretty much need to be turned on a lathe if things are to line up right.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
hey thats freaken awsome with what u did. the other day i was at a sporting goods store and walked past a G36C airsoft gun im buying a 10/22 ruger soon. and i wanted to turn the 10/22 into a G36C. im just not sure though iv never taken a (real gun) apart befor i dont wana mes somthing up and not beable to do it or even put it back together again what should i do? like i mean if i take it apart is it esay to put back together agin?
armadyl2007 3 years ago
There's a guy who did a G36 (search Ruger G36) and it looked pretty good. I can say the airsoft is much more complicated than the Ruger is. The Ruger is very simple to take apart. There are many good videos on disassembly of the Ruger 1022 on YT. "ruger 10/22 build" is good (I have it as a favorite)
taofledermaus 3 years ago
Hah, I just realised something. Of all the ignorant claims of airsoft guns being dangerous because they might be "converted to fire real rounds", now someone's actually done it. XD
Don't take that to a skirmish ok?
UnknownSquid 3 years ago
I could have converted a loaf of French bread into a stock too, ya know? hehe Airsofts themselves can be dangerous, simply because they look so real and if you brandished it at the wrong place, you could be shot.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
Yeah thats the thing. Simply looking lethal can still turn out lethal itself, in the wrong situation. Other than that, the idea of some simple reworking to fire real rounds is ludicrous. Their most harmful application would be as bizare clubs.
So... when ya gonna have up a video for a .22 caliber french assassin loaf?
TheLordMoose 3 years ago
I have a 13oz tactical solutions barrel would that work?....would you build one for sale?
youssefa 3 years ago
I tried to look up your barrel but didn't find any decent pictures so I could really check it out. Like the guy who asked about whether a bull barrel would fit, it probably would but it probably make the gun unbalanced quite a bit. I know the standard bbl. works, and it's all a very tight squeeze. You've invested in a high dollar barrel, and this P90 mod is really more of a "fun gun" than a serious gun enthusiast's weapon. I've had a few others ask if I would build them one (continued)
taofledermaus 3 years ago
but my intentions here (video 3) were to show folks how to build their own and not profit off this idea. For what I sold one stock for on Ebay, a person could buy both a 10/22 and a P90 stock, and a Dremel tool. That's the way I see it. I really had hoped to start seeing other people run with my idea and give the project a try and post their videos. Ah.. I'd glow with pride seeing others post some videos of their successes.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
Watched all your videos on this that is a lot of work, really lol. Think I'll just go with the mini bull Pup frame. But is was very informative, good job.
superbadassweetdaddy 3 years ago
I went into a lot of detail so it might seem like it is a lot of work, but it's a project no one should be intimidated to attempt. Take one little step at a time and you should have no problem. Minimal tools required.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
Cool! Make a real kit at a realistic price and I will be your first buyer. I 'm way to lazy to put that much time in to it.
superbadassweetdaddy 3 years ago
That's cool. Never would have thought to do that, or thought it possible.
Are you an engineer?
dvospeed1 3 years ago
I'm not an engineer, but in my job, I have to design machines and devices, modify existing machines, do machinist work, fabrication, repairs, and troubleshooting of machines. It was pure luck that the 1022 fit in this thing. I guess it was my natural curiousity and need to take things apart that led to this. I used to take all my toys apart as a kid to see how they worked. At least now, I know how to put them back together!
taofledermaus 3 years ago
Is there enough clearance inside for a bull .920 barrell?
nitinsharma1000 3 years ago
That area I opened up to around 5/8" measures .810 on the outside. That round ring of plastic (fake threads) would have to be removed. Without actually eying up the barrel and the stock, it's hard to say if it would fit in the rest of the stock, but I believe there would be room. The diam. of the std. tapered barrel is only .625 where it passes through the stock at the end. Isn't the bull bbl. straight and not tapered?
taofledermaus 3 years ago
yeah its straight
nitinsharma1000 3 years ago
Honestly, I think with a bull barrel this set up would be a little clunky to handle. It would probably fit and all, but it would probably very unbalanced with the heavier barrel and all. The standard, cheapo 1022 is probably better suited for this app since the center of gravity is at the rear-grip.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
yeah you are right. i have a stock barrell. plus you dont need a bull bbl for a CQB. Thanks for the info anyway.

-What comes with the P90 you bought on Ebay?-
It came with super cheap red dot scope, a so-so LED flashlight and mounts, a target, some BB's, charger, battery, and I think some cheap glasses.
-Why didn't you use a Tokyo Marui P90?-
It would be a sin to chop up such a nice gun!
It's like those kids who put $3000 worth of tires and rims on a $1000 car- the cost doesn't justify itself.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
-What can I use besides Lexan in the build?"-
You could use any 1/4" material. Offhand some microply from a hobbyshop would work well.
-I don't have an air compressor or die grinder, any suggestions?-
A Dremmel, would work well too.
-How much for the Tokyo Marui magazine?-
I bought mine on Ebay for about $30 w/ shipping. It's very nice and adds a lot of realism.
-Can lefties use this modded P90?-
Yes, I do not think the spent cases will hit you.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
-What brand of epoxy did you use?-
In the last build I used "JB Kwik", a metalized epoxy that is very durable. I also used the stick/putty type metalized epoxies and prefer those, less goopy.
-Did you come up with idea?-
I did. I have yet to find any references on the web of anyone else doing this prior to my building it. Anything is possible though.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
-Why don't you sell these on ebay?-
I did sell one on there. It was a big headache answering all the emails asking if it was a "cheap airsoft", etc. I had to be careful not to meantion that in the auction so I wouldn't "ruin it" for those selling airsofts on there- ebay bans things at the drop of a hat. I think I had one copy-cat who tried to sell the same idea and he seemed to have more headaches than I did.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
-Can this be used for home defense?-
That is why I built mine. I didn't like the price or look of the Muzzlelite. My P90 has a flashlight, red/green dot scope, and laser. It's more suited for confined areas than a full-length rifle, and would work well in the dark.
-Can kids shoot this?-
Small kids might find it hard to fit their hand on the grip and reach the trigger.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
-Can you attach a sling to it?-
Yes, I forgot to meantion a cheap sling comes with the P90 set. One end clips to the left side on the dummy charging knob, and the other to the butt of the stock. Neither is correct- as far as remaining true to realism.
-How do you put a trigger lock on this?-
Safety is important to me. I use a cable lock through the open breach of the Ruger. One can also drill a hole for a padlock on the P90 trigger and lock that.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
-Can you use an extended trigger release on this?-
I believe so. I just haven't gotten around to getting one myself.
-Will bore cleaners attack the plastic?-
I have yet to see anything attack the plastic. I would think acetone would eat it up though. WD40, Outers Nitro Solvent, Kroil, and oil, have all been sprayed on my P90 without any damage.
taofledermaus 3 years ago
well, try using a jg g36c. That works too for close and long range combat. Good video
chainsawjuglaz 3 years ago
That's what's cool about converting these stocks. You can take one Ruger action and drop it into a variety of other stocks. I've been looking at the F2000 and it looks like an easy conversion as well.
