Watching this video really made me feel all warm inside. I lived in Athens and attended UGA in the late 90s. It was the best time of my life. I've traveled all over the world but there is no place like Athens, GA. Thanks for the vid. GO DAWGS!

i lost everything i had to a DUI in Athens. i lived in a great apartment, had a great girlfriend, and it all went to shit. don't get me wrong, Athens is the shit, just don't drink and drive or you'll end up back in Omaha, NE living with your mom.

I loved Thai of Athens as well. They suddenly closed without notice a few months back. So sad.

The owner was such a sweet heart. Always seemed happy!

Transmet is also one of my favorite places. Great salads & pizza. Downtown location has awesome cocktails (Sunday build your bloody Mary) Oglethorpe is off the beaten path but still has an awesome wine selection and beer selection. Not far from my house. Me loves! :)

OMG i live here!!!! ive been to ALL of those places!!! Transmetropolitan is probably one of my FAV restauruants to go eat at!!!! They have a new one near my house now, over next to where Waugh and Allen Orthodonics used to be (if you go to Waugh and Allen's!!!:)

I lived there and from 1997 to 2001 and played alot of music in that town. I really miss living there. Living in Austin now which has a cool music scene too, but the vibe of Athens is unique!

I need some opinions,...I am completely dedicated to playing music and starting a band for life, is Athens a place I should move to if this is my passion in life? I was thinking memphis, but I visited and its not as happenin as I thought it would be. My only other ideas would be Seattle or maybe Portland
