  • My Sifu was taught by Ip chun (Terence yip)

  • My sifu went over and trained with ip chun, traditional he says :L love wing chun...

  • when you start learning it, you wont believe how hard it is to constantly try to keep ur elbows tucked in and move your arms.

  • @ernestt13 so true! Worth it in the end though... when no one can get into your box. ^_^

  • maneiro pakas sou fan do ip man

  • eu gostei muito-i many like!

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • "This system was invented 400 years ago by a Shaolin Buddhist nun named Ng Mui. She combined the temple's most combat ready fighting arts and stripped way the unnecessary movements, while still retaining the economic speed and attack theories of Shaolin. She then taught this new style to a girl named Yim Wing Chun. "

  • @SunsetSuperman92 thats KINDA what my history says. I have the "science of in fighting" disc with Bruce Lee mentor master Wong. It gives a history about this, I been practicing at home quite often his form, I like this one too! I stay with the original masters, and ONE modern master also named Wong. He has train videos here on youtube also. I do this to try and heal myself back as good a shape as I was at a young age. I stick to the traditions of all shaolin arts.

  • @SunsetSuperman92 also Im not very advanced, but Ive healed several body problems such as bad knees that made me hardly walk, also I do ba duan jin, and all of these styles together, not completely, but bits and pieces of ALL and targeting specific spot!! so far working very well! Im thanking these masters for my health back and they dont even know it ha! I also do mizong quan and these styles I practice by shi deyang and bi videos.

  • Great post thank you

  • i was already trained wing chun @ home!!!!

because i love martial arts i'm also bow with you guys!!!

  • best student bruce lee

  • that form is very like lau gar form

  • I am honored to get a chance to watch this, its like getting a chance to watch a phoenix rise above the ashes. And it is helping me b/c I had some questions on the technique, and form. Thank you for posting it. love, and peace.

  • i learn hong quan . and this is what i learnt in the first lesson . he sure this is wing chun ? wing chun legs arent supposed to open so big as it originates as a ladies martial arts . so yea .... this is actually hong quan . moreover , hong quan is stiff and wing chun is agile

  • @zenialc

    Yip man is weng chun;)

  • oh come on you made a whole video of him making sil lim tao??? meh...

  • where's the sound?

  • I made my post on this video a year ago, glad so many like what I said, but its sad that stupidity cant just be deleted from the comment pages I think. *thinks some people just dont understand what respect is* Again I bow to everyone who does indeed understand and love martial arts for all they are supposed to be, We outnumber those that dont I like to think.

  • Cheese Dick cunt flaps

  • Lets see this dude doing some sparring. He seems content just standing there swatting the air and playing patty cakes with his boy toy.

  • I love how even in sil lim tao there are a hundred different ways to do the form and a thousand different ways to apply it each one emphasising different strengths of the practioner. This one is the closest to the traditional shil lim tao im familiar with that Ive found

  • standard sini quan and iquan ... chainis monkeys don't tel you ... but if you study iquan you will understand this foolish school

  • @llbenderll can barely understand what youre typing ..

  • zzzzz

  • he loods like a preist

  • Beautiful Siu Lim Tau...

  • Just remember what Ip Man said in his fight against the English boxer after wining the challenge. Respect one another.

  • if you really want to know what he is like write to him and ask to train with him, he does seminars in London, and of course if you can afford it you can go to Hong kong, surely martial arts is about a philosophy on life, not who has the biggest d**k.

Yip Chun talks about us all being brothers in martial arts, why is that so hard for some to do?

  • @pearsy999 becos they let ego and stupidity get in the way..i always believe martial arts combines mind and body and soul..the real masters are those who have tremendous skill and power but are so downright humble and modest and find no need to show off

  • mantap Gan...Horas

  • my favorite wing chun teacher is Lo Man Kam who is yip mans nephew. His work just seems to be broken down better and eisier to understand. anyone interested in wing chun should watch his videos.

  • lol ip chun is ip man s son and i dont know too why doing he this ... ip ching is more closely to his father ip man and EWTO use LEUNG TING system and in EWTO is the first form name Siu Nim TAO .... this is only because kernsprecht copyrighted names Wing Tsun, Siu Nim Tao... and other .... and he doing different only 6th movement others are same.... then good luck to WT training

  • There isn't any copyrights for the names its just Cantonese characters in english, and canto doesn't even have pin yin so it doesn't matter how you spell it .

  • stop this nonsense

  • der macht des voll anders wie ich oh mein gott seit der EWTO is wing chun echt auseinandergebrochen...

  • I wonder why Ip Chun is doing this for wrong?

The punches are incorrect. Compare this with Yip Man's and Samuel Kwok's (one of his student's form

  • @Lescouflair You would have to understand how Ip Man taught his students, and more important what he taught him. It is said that his students were only given a shell of what Wing Chun is, and only 5 people really got the real thing.

  • @Lescouflair It's different interpretation. If u check out China's Wing Chun, some schools do it like Ip Chun. But just like u,I support the style like Yip Man & Samuel Kwok's.

  • oO was ist das oO

  • i have no doubts in the man who is showing the form this is the son of yip man i think theres a bunch of karate guys in here talking about tension lol anyway the style never had forms yip man developed the forms from what im learning so the forms are small but the mechanics can be applied to weapons also like all martial arts its not a question this is one of the best systems of fighting simple but more advanced the jkd which comes from this an karate an grappling

  • and boxing and kickboxing and savate and a hell of alot more

  • practice everyday, the mechanics of your mind will discover the truth in the form over time

  • Xie xie,Yip Chun

  • I like this philosophy. =)

  • the form is done slowly to slow you how its done an its how yip man did it. some animal forms use tension but this is just slow to the reach ends then you whip the wrist around an pull it slow back of course you would do all these things fast to save your life sparring in kung fu its done slow with no connecting power its a chess game you can spar regular as well

  • err this happens to be grandmaster yip man, highest ranking wing chun master, who might you be, a grandmaster we havn't heard of

  • So are you supposed to hold muscle tension while doing these excersises then ?

otherwise it wouldnt really strengthen much, if you were just lightly floating the wrists around.

  • no, relaxed

  • Why does he curl his wrist so much on so many movements? this must be relivant somehow, it must mean something ?

  • can have multiple uses, like escaping someone trying to hold your wrist or deflecting a punch by 'hooking' it. im no wing chun expert, but we have similar techniques in sil lum hung gar

  • its redirection from a block check out some videos on it to sum it up for you is simplified kung fu the options are less because of the elbow never comes out unless the fist is by the chest an then its still semi tucked in normal kung fu the options are more wide because of crazier stances, elbows sticking out, wild punches, wild kicks, strikes into blocks redirected into a strike with one arm vs one arm its very hard stuff wing chun is a must before kung fu its the smart thing to do

  • could this guy beat floyd mayweather or kimbo in a fight?

  • kimbo maybe , floyd no :D

  • @kamalgilkes Sure, a shot to the groin. Everybody has a chance. That is martial arts when you strip everything down to the core. Don't get distracted by the pretty flower petals. In China, there is a saying: You are only as strong as the weakest part of the body. In Boxing and Muay Thai, you rely on knockout power. That is the styles that I've learned. I just realized though, that going up against another boxer or thai fighter who is way bigger, a chance of winning is very slim.

  • i have no idea what's going on

  • wing chun is very effective, relaxing is so crucial for this type of martial arts, you wouldt believe that u could knock out a 20 stone gezzer just by relaxing and using the attackers strength against them

  • look brother next time answer the comment and dont try and take the piss out of someone because you cant answer the the comment.you a grown man arent u. my new best friend.

  • no,but im surprised you no what that means; coherent. im in england and youtube dont post comments right away. so i thought the comment didnt post but it came up 1/2 a hour later. but your so smart u should no that. i mean when you write your comments do have a dictionary next to you or is it that your so ugly that you to make it up with something. and yes i saw your pic, you had a load of hair on your face and a hat. you ashamed. covering up something.

  • As to your comments on my appearance, yes, I had a beard at the time, and yes, I was wearing a hat. Nothing wrong with your eyes, so congrats on that. You must be loads of fun at parties, running around whispering about how everyone wearing a hat 'is hiding something'. Perhaps you're familiar with the sun, which is very bright and hot most of the year here in Las Vegas. Hats can help with that. For the beard... what can I say, I like having a beard and I hate to shave. Sue me.

  • superbadlucre that comment about a wrench is silly. to a mechanic it is beauty. to a fighter wing chun is beauty or any other style. there all the same anyway.

  • ...

Was that supposed to be a coherent thought?

  • Anyone who does not understand the Chinese art to go from here

  • for me the fact that its effective makes it beautiful. Its beyond simple fighting.

  • Can anyone recommend a good wing chun school in new york city? i've been looking for me for a long time.

  • Sifu Andrew Tracey teaches Wing Chun & Choi Li Fut down at 243 Grand St. in Chinatown on Wednesday nights - 6pm-9pm. He's the owner and instructor of the Asian Boxing Club. Trust me, he's one of the top exponents of Wing Chun & Chinese boxing in general in NY. You will learn alot & become a very good fighter under his tutelage. He's practiced Kung Fu for 25 years, and has taught for approx. 10 of those years. Contact him regarding classes at his business number (646) 243-5665. Hope this helped.

  • the yip man and bruce lee are f-ing amazing. omg

  • this set is similar to the jorn sau trainnig set from lau gar

  • Ip Mans kids did not start Wing Chun training 'till they were adults, but, as for Master Wong Shun Leung (the beimo king)? the mind boggles.

  • Man I've always wanted to learn 'fighting' techniques from a 110lb asian man who couldn't beat up a 5th grader. What an awesome 'martial art'!

  • victim who couldnt beat up a 5th grader? Did you have typos or your a fucking idiot. Martial art is never about beating up ppl. Its about self defense.

  • LOL .. u think martial art is fake? then tell me why are so many people around the world today still learn it. only fat ass american like u with the IQ of a 5th grader would make such judgement, go and eat more hamburgers please

  • Feel free to conduct your search for power in a more appropriate place. Perhaps you could try your local muay thai gym or even street fighting in a tough neighbourhood this will suit you much better.

  • You're right, everyone is free to discover and follow their own way, to know their motivation.

About Muay Thai, people usually think it's for guys that just want to beat up others in fight streets.

Maybe a high % of ppl that practice it, think that, they feel strong (they are insecure of theirselves).

But the thing is, I practice it because it's a good way to keep ur body well and also gives more trust to yourself.

Remember, It's not about the style, it's just about the person that practice it.

  • this is useful

  • I don't underdstand.... if you look for "original Wing Chun" under you tube, you will find Sifu Yip Mun video... Sifu Yip Chun form and his is so different. why is this so?

Whereas Sifu Ho and Sifu Augustine Fong, Sifu Randy William is closer to Sifu Yip Mun's form.

  • victor kan is yip mans most senior student, he lives and teaches in london, his wing chun is superb, and it is the original version, not modified like wongs or cheungs, his students are the best around, the techniques are so powerfull and flowing

  • Victor Kan is indeed a fine WC exponent. His reputation as the "King of Chi Sao" is a deserved one.

He is also a naturally big man, being tall for an oriental and strongly built.

I don't believe Wong Shun Leung did all that much to "modify" his WC - but bear in mind he was a very small man and had to adapt techniques to his size so he could beat bigger & stronger opponents.

  • not to sound offensive but wat is the point of this whole exercise

  • there are sooooo many points. joint strength, small muscle control, focus, BREATHING, stabilizing muscle strength, chi flow, patience, dedication, humility (as a student)...and the list goes on for crying out loud...those are just the things i've learned and i'm still in siu lim tao form.

  • @Kevsta91 Self defense.

  • I wonder how did Yip Man get a knowledge about kung fu....the techniques and all that...

  • the women who created it named Wing Chun only taught her husband and then so on

  • For those who study wing chun....do your legs start to shake like hell when you do sui nim tao? i know mine do lol

  • both these men mastered an amazing and beautiful martial art that is known to be effective in combat and like all true martial arts, enriches the soul. Who ever would dare disrespect them has no business learning anything till they are humbled. *bows to all who love the martial arts*

  • Wing Chun fighters look good after the fight, not during :P

I don't think WC is a beautiful martial art. It's a tool to get something done. Would you call a wrench beautiful?

  • its a matter of opinion. I think any art done properly has beauty. Honestly I find your comment a bit double edged in the worst way. Yes its effective, but it is an art form as well as amazing self defense. I see your point but kung(skill) is something that takes years to develop in anything. Those skills are never just tools.

  • Yes I would.

I met a right little stunner in Brighton who was all too willing to give me some free loving.

I thought she was a beautiful.

  • Apologies superbadlucre,

    I was thinking of WENCH.

  • Yes, but you're English, so your aesthetics are not to be trusted. Unless you're referring to Brighton in New Jersey, USA, in which case ... your aesthetics are not to be trusted.

  • if your a mechanic, but there are fighter so yeah it does look nice

  • hmm i think the most important thing in every fight, is 2 win it not to look good xD... mayb karate or other kung fu styLes look better if u watch it (not in a fight) but in a fight it looks very bad when u lose xD

  • @Bastion83

    well said

  • i think respect for elders should be a basis in general not just for wing chun or martial arts, so the world can be a little peacefuler :)

  • i think as a martial artist everyone has to be humble and respectful to everyone who loves the art

it doesnt matter wich style or lineage he or she belonges @ weterzinar in cantone and mandarin the names are different, maybe in thair meanings as well, dont know, i'm no wing chun/ yong chun expert... but thats no reason to call shadowwarrior false chinese or else... we all love martial arts so show that you are a martal artists, so if we dont respect each other we havent understand anything

  • @eray1980 i totally agree with you... be humble at all times people... love the art.

  • @eray1980

If you want to see respect of the so-called martial-artist: go and read the comments of the most successfull teachers in wingchun. (Who they are? Find out for yourself...)

  • post ur own video if ur so damn good weterzinar show us if ur better than yip chun..

  • Weterzinar. You are a troll and you are embarassing yourself and your sifu if you even do any wingchun. What Chant Spring? You speak cantonese? I am chinese and learnt direct from the hongkong source. You have no respect for Yip Man's older son? I will bet my last penny, he has done a heck lot more for wingchun than you, and your online trash talk.

  • yip chun is yip man son

  • dude weterzinar..his an old man wat do u expect? u think u are damn good? post your own video show us then..noob

  • Pathetic statement... modern weapons are only

for war-mongering dogs. Guns are for sissies

    who can't fight.

  • so? u just realized that?

  • The WORST! Look at his elbows on 0:14. They are to much outside. And the stance is to much open.

  • 馬步太寬, 未拑膝, 拳不直出, 向上下搖晃

  • You know nothing best siu Lim Tau I have seen 100% better than Leung Ting !

  • 尊师重道, 18 years old wingtsun guy from china, your teacher didnt teach you to respect the elders and the way, in martial tradition? Its the backbone of TCMA.

  • To ShadowWarrior88: Yes, brother you are absolutely correct. Respect for elders is the basis for Wingtsun. We in the West have ao much to learn from the East. Thank you for your kind words.

  • I've never seen such a leg parting technique in martial arts before.. I find this classic style intriguing..

  • es una clase magistral que todos deberiamos tener guardada como consulta obligada

  • It is a gem to have found in the rough, this original Yip Man instruction on Wing Tsun forms. By all lineages I've seen, he was *the* Ving Tsun Grandmaster of his time. That Bruce Lee credits him as his most influential teacher says something. Its times like this I realize how powerful the Internet is for sharing knowledge. - Matthew

  • la base del combattimento!

    fantastica

  • 5 stars!

  • 1 form i know 2 form but i don't know 3-4-5-6-7 form :(

  • There's only 3 forms.

  • theres only 3 forms buddy

  • It is a great form demo. As a beginner I see more and more detail in it, every time I play. How come there are no instructions on BREATHING during this form? Anybody knows a good place on line to puy striking pads?

  • you should breath through your nose, with the tip of your tounge pressed against the roof of your mouth.

  • excuse my spelling...happy xmas everyone..

  • respect to this man and his family for sharing wing chun with the west regardless of lineage!

  • I only respect Yip Man, but not his sons.

  • i've heard that even yip man himself taught the forms differently to different people. and differently at different stages of his own life as well. so basically the form is just a vehicle to learn principles and concepts. at least that's what i get out of it. afterall the moves, techniques and principles existed before the forms. you could make up 300 forms if you wished.

  • well said

  • thanks! i don't see why it matter who's right or wrong (noone) everyone is unique and can't be expected to fight like someone twice their size (or smaller)..focus on WHY it works. and adapt it to yourself. be pretty all you want and you'll fall. do what works within the principles of your chosen system(s) and quit bickering about who lived with yip man longer or who knows the original form..yip man didnt even teach the original form.

  • i totaly agree with you

  • spoken like a real practionar of the principals (relax...)

  • lol were you telling me to relax? or everyone else?

it's the same in every art though, everyone wants to teach the real authentic true kata of ninjutsu...when hatsumi sensei will tell you, that is just a formality and ultimately you must throw away the technique to make it yours, only then can you really adapt to the situation and react without thinking.

  • one of the first principals of wing chung is relaxtion/line cuts circle - circle cuts line ect.

  • your point?

  • You are party right, The forms are basic the same. The 1st stage, e.g Leung Sheng,2 nd. or middle stage,e.g Wong Shun Leung or Siu Yuk Men.Close door stage, e.g Leung Ting (he is also the studen of Leung Sheung-early stage)

  • you're a fuck tart weterzinar

  • This is a great example of Sil Lim Tao. What I do not understand is the great differences between the way Yip Chun performs it and many other Wing Chun practitioners who have developed their very own style of performing it. Master Yip Chun is just great!

  • theres really no right and wrong. After you go through all the politics, all the differences in forms, all the I am real you are not. We are all red boat wingchun. Just difference expressions because we are all difference people.

  • Thanks for the response, man!

  • people could be more like gary lam. he readily admits his sifu changed the form because of something that happened in a real fight. all things must improve. why do people want to stagnate something that should be alive?

  • Yip Mans idea was to preserve the form in their originals so that every student could learn the undiluted principles that were encoded in the forms, and THEN tailor the system to his own strength and weaknesses. If the forms are modified every other generation and passed down in their modified versions, their original intentions become unreadable. Sadly, the explanations that put the forms into context are changing nevertheless. :(

  • from what i've been told yip man didnt even necessarily teach the 'original' forms. highly unlikely. infact i've heard from many sources that he often changed the forms himself. everyone just wants the 'OWC' monopoly. the forms were, and are based on the principles...not the other way around. the form is just a medium to teach something. adding a move here or there isn't going to detract from that in my opinion.
