  • Nice teeth loser!

  • You sound more like you are trying to convince yourself more than anybody else and if you really knew the bible, you wouldnt allow the prop 8 to give you any excuse to turn your back on God. You need to remember that God had nothing to do with the prop 8. I agree with you on that but I will not turn by back on God because of what man may do.because he has never turned his back on me or on you/,

  • I am sorry that your family cannot continue to love you in "your error"...Jesus told us to love everyone, even those who say there is no God...that the love we show may be a witness to the God's love for them also. Congratulations on breaking free from oppressive belief, and I understand you claiming a position of "skeptic"/"athiest" at this point. A light cannot be hidden under a basket...you will find your way, if you seek. God reveals Himself continually. He can still speak today.

  • nice! thank you for your thoughts! ;)

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

  • Congratulations. Hope the new non-Mormon life is going well. May the FSM bless you and your family.

  • Atheist = fruit of Mormonism.

  • Good for you TrueNorth.

  • I remember years ago when the Church was against the ERA. They also preached from the pulpit that we were to oppose it.

  • 19 year old Atheist here. I was born in the Mormon church and I left the Church and became an Atheist when I was 17. I'd thought about getting myself removed from the Church or just go all out and get purposely excommunicated. I never knew about Prop. 8 but it's consistent with the bullshit of Mormonism and religion in general. I am going to look into actually getting my name removed, since I don't want to be affiliated with them at all. Good video.

  • @HeretixAevum Do you have to use profanity?? there are ladies on the Internet, you know. YOu just casually type this crude language for all to see. Do you swear in real life? What type of woman is going to want to date or marry a man who uses such words? Think of your future.

  • @MagicMaureen46

Yes, I do swear in real life. I don't believe in treating women differently to men at all, particularly in conversation. It's not my fault if you actually buy into the idea of "dirty words". What you need to understand about language is context. It's not the word that is bad, it's the context which differentiates if it is offensive or not. I used 1 "swear" word amongst 6 lines of formally articulated English, if you get caught up on such small things then I feel sorry for you.

  • @MagicMaureen46 Also, at this point in my life I have absolutely no desire in relationships or having children, but you need to realise that not everyone, females in this case, are like you. Many ladies occasionally use coarse language and have no problem hearing it. They understand that if it's not directed at them personally, it's not an insult and there's no reason to be offended. I wouldn't go anywhere near a woman who treats coarse language like a 5 year old.

  • my favorite quote from your video!

"there may be a reason they have to put down for it................(oh shit its still rolling) ahh there are many reasons among them included are...........(oh shit what do i say) ...... i am an atheist now (yeah good one!) i dont believe in any gods"

tell ya what dude you definitely are not so sure in yourself in this movie, that is why you have to say over and over again that you sent in the letter and there is no stopping it.

  • also another thing is your argument is full of flaws and holes. and i feel it is my duty to point out these holes so the few that do waist their time with this video will not be mislead by your lack of logic. (also i would like to note that you do a great impression of george w bush)

first the church's anouncement said to remember to vote according to what you believe in! WHERE THE HELL DO YOU GET FORCE IN THAT? THEY DIDNT SAY IF YOU LET GAYS MARRY THEN WE WILL PUNISH YOU! they left it open!

  • second, the church cant in any way use your name to bolster anything! they dont get up and say that TrueNorth15 thinks this and that! they dont say ansiem123 supports this or that. if you go into any meeting of any kind the only thing you will hear is "I BELIEVE" they never push anything on anyone else EVER! also i have to ask you where is the hatred? look into any of the church leaders eyes and tell me you see any hate! you dont have to agree with them but you wont find hate in their eyes!

  • there is more hate in your eyes than anything i have seen in a while! lol so how can you say that oh this is a hateful religion and so i am leaving because of that and have hate in your own eyes towards them! that my friend is hypocrisy, not practicing an ancient type of marriage that Abraham, Issac and Jacob used between men and women vs a chemical imbalance in the brain confusing one into being attracted to the same sex! that is not hypocrisy! that is the general consensus of the bible!

  • btw just so you know i also believe that gays should be able to marry, because i believe that we all are born with the ability to chose, i believe that we each should be able to make our own choices, however, i do not believe that it is right nor part of gods plan! if i was born with the desire to kill people all the time could i do it? would it be right? oh but i could say i was born like this! oh but this is how god made me. does that give you the right to do whatever you want?

  • now i am going to check out your other movies and rip them apart too! have a great day!

  • Good for you man, I am going through the same thing!

  • i don't really care what religion you are, but why do you seem so proud of it? i'm mean you sounds kind of self righteous...my question is this, why does buying a webcam suddenly give everyone the delusion that random people actually care what you think...this is ridiculous. if your so attention starved that you feel the need to repeat the same damn thing for 8 min... all this "according to their belief's" shit....your so full of hate, you need a hug.

  • The responsibility of the Preachers is to teach the Ten Tribes of Levi, the The High Priest Melchisadec who blesses Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Aaron, the 12 Lost Tribes who are the 144,000 that are to returned to Israel to receive the RAPTURE along with the righteous and the BELIEVERS, Christ said If we do not teach this Doctrine in Church HIS SPIRIT shall not enter remember that JESUS calls us to be RIGHTEOUS not RELIGIOUS GOD SPEED

  • my god man , get out of your moms basement

  • good for you, im researching mormonism to see what its about, not to join. Glad you stand for your beliefs and are willing to speak out. Good man

  • Good video. I've seen a lot of comments from people who supported Prop 8 saying they're being bashed just for stating your opinion. It's because their opinion advocated intentionally excluding a class of people from legal and social protection and equality.

It's not just an opinion, it's a discriminatory opinion. Only one opinion wasn't.

  • I'm willing to stake my life that neither you nor any other atheist would want anything to do with a fag any faster then a Christian or just a typical homo phobe asshole. I don't support gay marriage nor do I dislike anyone who is gay. You atheists act like you have such high morals and treat everyone equally just as a pathetic attempt to make atheism look so wonderful and Christianity look bad.

  • ...I can almost understand why some people may not believe in God, but I cannot stomach people don't act like they love fags when they really don't. Nothing against you personally man, but you atheists are just pathetic.

  • comments like yours don't really need to be refuted, I just wanted to point it out so that others can laugh there ass off at you too

  • Hey at least I gave you something to think about instead of just calling you a fat fuck or a fagot like mostly everyone else. Instead of just acting like I'm stupid, why don't you explain to me why you don't love queers but, but still support gay marriage.

  • hahaha, you must be a badly thought out Poe

  • I dont know exactly what you mean by Poe; but yeah I'm guessing you're just a big douche bag just using any bit of propaganda to make religion look bad. You sound like you're playing the victim card being all sympathetic to the homos out there. Don't act like you have such morals because it's bullshit; we all know it, and so do you

  • Poe's Law, look it up. though if that is what you are going for it needs a lot of work.

otherwise your comments are as inconsistent and retarded as one would expect from a fundalogical hick and I find them a source of amusement hahaha.

  • I dont give a shit about Edgar Allan Poe. I'm just here to let you know what a liar and a hypocrit you are. I'm still waiting for you to explain why you sympathize for the gays if you arent one. And in cas anyone is wondering, I'm a Catholic, not a mormon.

  • ROFL I'm finding it harder to believe you actually believe what you say, your trolling is lacking in quality. Come on try to be creative.

  • now you're just being stupid. You sound like a smart guy; why not just admit you hate gays like everyone else

  • I'm disappointed in you I had hoped that your trolling would get better but instead it got worse.

  • maybe it will wen u answer my question

  • the reason I've been mocking you is because you don't have a question, just a projections of your own insecurities. either that your you are just a really bad troll/poe. in both cases you are poorly educated to say the least.

  • "just a projections of your own insecurities" where are my insecurities? I'm just calling you and all other atheists out on their bullshit. And why do you think I'm poorly educated? What the hell has that got to do with anything?

  • haha, your comments are self-refuting!

  • whatever you say buddy

  • watching this video makes me feel really really greatful that I am mormon. I have a gay brother so I understand how hard it must be for a person who is gay to stay in the church. I think you did the best thing possilbe if you want to persue a sexual relationship with another man. And for the record we still love you very much.

  • who said I was gay? and are you really grateful for trampling on somebody's rights?

  • Come on man its obivous. But as far as trampling on anybodies rights? I know most gays like yourself would like to think that the latter day saints have somehow violated your rights. But come on man it was put to a vote and you lost. Democracy prevailed. Had nothing to do with the lds chruch. But we are easy targets. So be it!

  • please pull your head out of your ass for a minute, I am not gay but I support gay rights!

I recall the church also opposed the equal rights amendment too, you have forgotten that tyranny of the majority is still tyranny.

  • I simpathize. But I don't like the sound of how some churches take advantage of some people that why I don't visit regularly. But I still beleve that theres a higher being. But for you they lost you, for that I hold great Dishonor for turn away their family... In consideration good luck with time. and God Bless, live long and prosper.

  • you are funny

  • All religion is fucken hipocracy. Im glad u know that now and congrats on putting an end to it.

  • you r just a fill srorey fat ass bunk and u must be a hobo so get it right

  • Good job, and Well said!

Check out my Atheism 101 vids, as resources for those who may also be questioning the Church.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Wow! Another loser pretending to be an ex-Mormon to make us look bad! Good for you fatty!!!

  • of course whether you believe me or not doesn't matter to me, your comment though also does a good job of making you look bad.

  • rriiiggghhhttt...and your video doesn't make you look like rude? Why do you have to post this video? Lemme guess, to make Mormons look bad? I'm pretty sure that's it...right? Believe what you want to believe, but why do you have to post a video over it?

  • what is rude is to assume that a call for equal rights is about making those who trample on those rights look bad, truth is they made themselves look bad.

you clearly don't care about the truth, and are very insecure about your own faith otherwise you wouldn't be so defensive about people who choose to disassociate themselves from the LDS church.

  • No, his video makes it look like TrueNorth15 is shedding delusion. He doesn't seem nearly as rude as you do.

Truenorth15, I'm glad you posted this video. It's great that you distance your self from such a bigoted and insane cult.

  • "Wow! Another loser pretending to be an ex-Mormon to make us look bad! Good for you fatty!!! "

How long did you have to stick your face in a hat before god inspired you to make that comment?

  • jebusgeist..that was funny man..lol

  • It had to be done. For a person who has actually realized that the gold is in fact garbage, this HAD to be done. Doesn't make it easy. But then, for a person with backbone, the difficulty of the act makes it even more necessary. For every person that criticizes you there are millions who would applaud. :)

  • wo u have crast the line right there i'm 13 and you r a must be a child how does not know from right to wrong get your fuck facts right or groun up

  • at least now you don't have to feel guilty about all the other videos you make down in your basement.

  • I'm ex too! Secular Humanism seems a natural way of logical thinking/living it brings out the finest qualities in people so all can have a for-filled life. Humanists appose supernatural and authoritarian beliefs affirming we must take responsibility for our own lives communities and world in which we live. Emphasizing reason, scientific inquiry, individual freedom with responsibility, human values and compassion and a need for tolerance and cooperation. "No blind-faith religions needed at all".

  • It requires a suspension of logic and reason to blindly follow the notion of an all-knowing omnipotent being whos so bothered about how we act or think. Its intellectually ridiculous a waste of lifes time, resources and energy. The most flourishing peaceful civilized societies globally are freely evolving secular humanistic democracies, with freedom of conscience, freedom of thought and freedom of expression as basic human rights for all, plus! A clear separation of religious dogma and State.

  • I was raised mormon/religious, but! By the time I became accountable as a reasoning adult and thought for my-self, scientific thought and rational evidence led me to believe otherwise. The concept of "Freedom From Religion" is more important than "Freedom of Religion" The first protects the individual, that latter, the institution, but if you reverse the order, you give the institution license to oppress.

Life does not have to have 'God' to give it direction just a bit of imagination and love!

  • I wasn't trying to prove anything but how many different interpretations there are. I took them Christian websites.. not from Mormon ones. So that just proves that the Christian take on the scripture isn't consistent. But thanks for trying! :-)

  • amazing you missed the forest for the trees

  • Amazing you can't see forest or the trees. You focus too much on the negative things in life. I am happy for you.

  • Some even say that the word Dogs refers to the Gentiles... as that is what the Jews would call them. And as we know.. the mission of Jesus Christ was to deliver his message to the Jews only. After his death.. he then instructed his Apostles to teach all nations.

So this woman.. being a Gentile.. he did not cater to them... but still becasue of her faith.. she still got what she wanted.

  • I find if funny you needed to flip between literal and non-literal interpretations within the same passage just because it was questioned, you just proved that your take on the scripture isn't consistent.

  • She used Jesus own analogy and answered by saying that even the family pets ate the crumbs under the table. She would be grateful for even a crumb from the Master. Jesus could see that she truly believed and had faith in Him. Because of her answer, her daughter was healed. Jesus didnt have to touch the girl and He didnt need to say a word. The demon had left her.

Now.. this sounds more plausable.. eh?

  • She knew that Jesus had driven out demons before and that He could heal her daughter. He simply said that it was not right to throw the childrens bread to the dogs. The term used here for dogs is the word for household pets. He meant that at a family meal, one doesnt give the childrens food to the pets. The children were the apostles, who He had come to teach. The pets were those who were not apostles.

  • Or how about this meaning?

The woman interrupted Jesus in one of His private times. It is said that Jesus was in the vicinity of Tyre in Phoenicia, on the Mediterranean - to privately minister to His disciples. He wasn't there to teach publicly, but word always traveled fast when he was in the area. It wasnt easy for Him to be alone and this woman found Him in one of these rare moments. She fell at His feet to make her request, telling Him that her daughter was possessed......

  • So maybe that was a superstition? and he corrected it?

  • 25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: 26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. 27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the achildren first be filled: for it is not meet to take the childrens bread, and to cast it unto the bdogs•.

  • You took a stand 13 1/2 years ago, buddy, not today. I can only assume you have doubts about your decision to leave the church; otherwise, this wouldn't have been such a big deal for you now. You're not atheist and quit believing otherwise - as "tough" as you made yourself out to be - you still believe in something and you're going to regret what you did. Now you're just trying to justify your actions to feel better.

  • no, I didn't care what the church did when I left, now I see them using my name to prop a hate group and I want them to stop. I have no regrets about my disbelief, it is what it is, I think you are having a hard time with the fact people like me choose to do this and need to justify it to yourself.

  • Nothing in that scripture saying that feeding the dog causes children to be possessed.

  • that's because you didn't read the entire passage (or refused to)

  • LOL.. Assumptions. It wouldn't fit.

  • besides.. it did not say what you said it said. Here is the rest.

28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the childrens crumbs. 29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. 30 And when she was come to her house, she found the adevil• gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

  • wow it took you a day later to read the passage, since you pick and choose this passage can easily be interpreted to mean that you get devils from feeding dogs from the table. anyhoo nice job on the epic fail

  • LOL I read the entire passage. Yet.. I still do not see how you get devils from feeding dogs.

I get: 1. Woman with daughter that was possessed. 2. She fell at his feet and asked him to cast out this devil. 3. He said.. Let the children eat first. 4. It does not say if the children were with her or not.. but the point was to feed the children first before feeding dogs. 5. She agreed and yet claimed that they still eat the crumbs.. 6. At which he said go thy way for saying this.

  • The Bible TOO preaches about "non-traditional" marriage, as you call it, where Moses taught polygamy.

But Moses never taught about a man being "married" to a man. In fact, he taught death for that kind of stuff.

So you can't say that it is the mormons that had non-traditional marriage and therefore should sympathize with gays wanting to be married.

no, even ANY bible believing person would fight the false idea of so-called "gay" marriage.

I was so supportive of Prop 8. Atheists were not.

  • No, only bible-believing people that have an unwarranted interest in the goings-on in other people's bedrooms would support such a measure. And if gay marriage WERE folly, you would find that attempting to preemptively eliminate human folly is the oldest and most fruitless folly of them all.

  • You're not going to win over minds and hearts by enacting government policy inspired by religious dogma, quite the opposite, aside from it being at least problematic when you attempt to dictate religious morality, because it precludes the ability to exercise free will. You hate sin, yet isn't that the very mechanism that will be the catalyst for the return of your lord? The church should have it's tax exempt status revoked, and be ultimately cast into obscurity where it belongs.

  • The Lord said that as we get closer to the day of his 2nd coming.. there would be things that will seperate the wheat from the tares.

Better now than when someone really needs to depend on you.

  • the "lord" also said that feeding the dog from the table can cause children to become possessed with "devils" (Mark 7:25-30)

  • the "lord" also...

    What?

25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the childrens bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

  • 28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the childrens crumbs. 29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. 30 And when she was come to her house, she found the adevil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

nicely done purposely neglecting the entire passage, but then again you pick and choose your scriptures so there is no real consistency

  • check out my videos on mormons and congradulations to you about leaving the church of lies praise God for your decission.

  • the Mormon southpark episode was on the other day. I think this was the catalyst to your resignation!

  • no, the southpark episode had nothing to do with my resignation, I had already left the church, my resignation letter was to prevent them from using my name after what they did in california

  • Mormon is a cult...period. Glad you got out of that.

  • I'm happy for you, TrueNorth15. It takes balls to formally leave any church, and I respect you for that. Thanks for posting this.

  • Im was jus sayn man.

  • Why are you giving up on God jus cause you had a bad expierence? I mean its your choice but it seems extreme, because there are other churchs out there that you might feel more comfortble in. jus a suggestion.God bless

  • I didn't give up on god because of a bad experience, I realized he/she didn't exist. but if you had noticed the video was about me removing my name from the records of the mormon church not about finding a new one.

  • I'm sick of hearing that excuse: "you were in the wrong church, you had a bad experience, that's no reason to give up God." It would be irrational to say: "well, that was a crappy church, there must not be a God." This isn't just towards you (I know it was just a suggestion), but don't try to use that unless you know for sure that that is the reasoning behind it. As an atheist, I just find it offensive when people insinuate that I left the faith because I had a bad experience. It's insulting.

  • It take a lot of guts to do what you did. To denounce the religious beliefs of one's family and risk the pain of ostracism is not an easy thing to do, especially at this time of year.

  • thank you klangsteiner

  • religious organizations are not healthy for society. they propagate fantasy and destroy lives. thanks for speaking up....

  • thanks for listening

  • seriously dude call them tell them your gong to kill some prostitutes and say it was Mormon that made you do it. TRUST ME they will remove your shit LOL

congrats on escaping that cult BTW!

  • im tired of all these people with the theatrics of them denouncing the church. if you do that is your business. but this guy is trying to get the attention that is given to the church right now. and calling them names and saying they descriminate is just childish. they have beliefs that they defend and that does not make them evil.

  • acerusso, are you just trying to get the attention that is given to me?

  • im just a passer by shaking my head. i would rather people ignore me and listen to what i said. so by all means keep the attention you get. its illgotten but i dont want it.

  • You're missing the point of this action and video entirely. Yes, denouncing a church is a personal decision, but it is also a difficult one. By doing it publicly, others considering making the same decision will be able to see the repercussions of the decision.

It's not attention-whoring, it's a trailblazer leaving markers on the path for those who follow behind. The more people who share their experiences like this, the more other people will find the strength to make the same decision.

  • Anyway, if you're tired of "the theatrics", there's a simple solution... don't watch and don't comment. Commenting just brings attention to it.

  • A wise decision.

For what my blessings are worth, you have them for your action. (worth a little comfort i hope).

I hope many follow your example, it's good to be in accordance with your own principles.

  • thank you

  • Good video. That took some courage. But, won't the Mormons just convert you back after you die?

  • not if I leave instructions in my will not to

  • Congratulations, Nathan. I see so many examples of people trying to further their cause by using the names of people who are completely opposed to those causes.

A courageous message. Wonderful, inspiring video.

  • Thank you

  • This is awesome Nathan. I've thought about doing the same.

    Good for you!

    (ps make more videos)

  • Thanks Johnny, just know that I'll fully support you if you choose the same route.

    (sorry about the absence)

  • Good for you, dude.

  • thank you

  • congrats man, good to hear you again, i havent heard u for months! remember all my comements? i live in st albert, me and you should do a coalition video (pun intended on our crappy political system)

  • you should come out to the meetings of the Society of Edmonton Atheists, and the Edmonton Skeptical Society (we're having a pub night this friday)

  • i would but im not 18 yet, but when i could do it where r these places?

  • we're mostly organized on facebook for both groups, and we do have a few events that don't occur in a bar either

    edmontonatheists(dot)ca

    edmontonskeptics(dot)org

  • Congrats man!

  • thanks

  • Thank you very much for this video. It took a lot of courage.

  • no need to thank me Ross, supporting equal rights and taking a stand is something that every decent human being should be doing. I'm only sorry I didn't do this sooner.

  • It takes a lot of courage to do what you did. I think you feel a lot of anger, and I can imagine that taking such a step like that would change your life considerably. I share your views on Proposition 8. Know that you've got friends all over the continent to lean on for support. I know when I gradually made my shift to atheism, there was a long evolution. Your journey is probably just beginning. I envy you, because I think after you get through the hard feelings, it will be exciting.

  • A fundamental change in religious beliefs changes the structure of your mind and how you view the world in a lot of ways... But after the anger against religion subsides, you'll realize that there are many new doors that open up for you, and that all the fun begins when you get past the hurt and forgive... After I was able to forgive religion and its peddlers, I became much more focused on improving myself, and I'm better for the transformation I have made.

  • thanks, for the most part I am now a live and let live kind of person, but in this case my former church actively participated in harming another I'm actually expecting a bit of fallout from the family over this one

  • Congratulations. You were forced to choose between doing the right thing and keeping quiet and let them use you to harm others, and you chose to take the path of compassion rather than that of mormonism.

This is a perfect example as to how moderates play a key part in enabling 'extremists' to do harm. Even if no active support is made, by being a statistic and bolstering their religion's numbers it gives them more political power that they use to harm others.

  • you hit the nail on the head Bob

  • fived and faved

    well said

  • I appreciate palmtreez thanks

  • Congratulations.

  • thanks Ben

  • Hmm... nice ending... :p

  • thanks ;)

  • Awesome bro! Congrats! You should post the info on where to send such a letter. I am very eager to do the same.

  • I kind of guessed from the title of this video that this was probably a response to prop 8.

    Bravo!!!

  • Thanks Javier, check out my blog in the details this video is part of a post there

  • HI! Wow what happened to you? Speaking of Mormon, they came by today how do I let them down easy?

  • Saying no thank you usually works. Mormons are probably ass well mannered or as much in lack of it as other people.

  • just say you aren't interested, they do get pretty used to rejection
