I noticed that every interviewer asks the bands the same questions time and time again while they're on tour: How do you like this city? How do you like this country? Without noticing that the band actually doesn't care since they’ve been touring the whole world prior to that gig in your city/country. They just pretend caring so as to get away with these questions.
They politely answer them as they don't want to sound impolite to the interviewer/audience, but at the back of their mind, they don't care as much as the fans do as they are being asked the same questions in every single country and city over and over again.
They've been touring since 2005 on and off and by the time they get to TO, Canada, or some other city/country, they had already been touring entire Europe (east&west), Turkey, South America and US long before and are going on to Asia. They don't have time for sightseeing. I saw JP already in June 2011 in Basel, Switzerland, and they've already toured prior to that Scandinavia, Germany, Greece, Russia, etc, and in every country they are being asked the same questions over and over again.
Iron Maiden, for instance, were performing at the Sonisphere Festival in Basel, Switzerland in June 2011. Just right before the concert, Bruce didn't even know where they were playing, he thought, they are in France somewhere. And he said that the band was prior to that playing in India. Now, imagine the time change, jetlag, it certainly takes its toll.
They sometimes don't care anymore where they’re at. For us, the fans, we see it from a different perspective: We always wanna know, of course. But they (the bands, especially, the famous ones), they’re just glad they're making it to the stage on time and off they are again heading rapidly to the next gig to another country/city where they’re being asked the same question : How do you like Tokyo?
