Supes did try to reason with him. Didn't work. Shayera tried to reason with him, too - she got slammed into a building for her trouble.
Still, I think Shayera did the only thing she could do for her friend. Some people might feel it's horrible but Grundy was dead anyway - all he wanted was the peace of oblivion. I hope that if I'm ever in that much misery someone has the mercy to end my suffering.
Solomon Grundy, Born on a Monday, Christened on Tuesday, Married on Wednesday, Took ill on Thursday, Grew worse on Friday, Died on Saturday, Buried on Sunday. This is the end Of Solomon Grundy.
Wow, you made it really sad. I mean just tragical. You really showed Shayeras soft side and vulnerable fore the thought of beeing a destroyer and a killer
i find it true to her character. that she is of deep contrasts.
Grundy was a battlefield friend for her. She had to watch him die and then be the one to kill him a second time. Because only her mace had any effect on him.
She saw him fight, saw him as a hero because whether he meant to or not he saved her the last time around. this time around, can putting him out of his misery be really saving anyone?
Yeah I agree. She is deeper than most people think
But not only that they came to a certain point of acceptance as well. His first death was a new experience for her as well obviously. And to be the one to kill him the second time must hurt within her self. But at the same time take responsibility for him and I think he was glad it was her on the end because he seem to recognize her at least a little.
yes. i mixed scenes from both episodes. i imagine her thinking back to the moments before his first death as she goes looking for him in the sewers.
The other things weighing on her is everything else that happened between the first time he died and the imminent fact that she's about to put him to rest.
Fate and Inza were the best possible people she could be with before all this. Fate and Aquaman were also part of the mission where Grundy died.
I've seen some different videos but this one together with the song felt. most sad.
Yeah their is a lot on her mind when she "go public" again in "wake the dead" the whole starcrossed part must made some scars on her and then the loneliness
Yeah I think so as well. They didn't judge her in that way just let her think and work through things as best she could. I wonder though how she ended up there
Yeah it would just be to shallow if it would be someone else.
I originally heard this song towards the end of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. The woman Aki survives where the man Grey dies to help her release the spirits were stranded in limbo on Earth after their planet was destroyed.
I believe Fate might have been told of what happen or he himself was aware so perhaps he found her lost in the world.
However it happen, what matters is she spent time with them until the enraged Grundy resurrection. Then she had do the necessary hard thing again.
Wow, I see what you got the inspiration for this video then =D
Yeah probably, he must have thought there was more within her than just a destroyer since he over all does take her in. But she kind of looks sad through the whole episode, don't you think?
Yeah, the hardest maybe. Well since it was a friend and that was her official reappearance as well so she had a lot of eyes on her.
Yeah. Grundy spent much of Terror Beyond with the drive to get his soul back because of what Fate told him about who he was before Grundy.
Then when he dies with Shayera at his side. He asks her if his soul is waiting for him. She doesn't believe for herself, but she'll try to believe for him.
Her sadness peaks after she hits Grundy in the back and again down in the sewers before she delivers the fatal blow.
The most grateful among them are the mother and the daughter from the car.
Probably yeah. It's more of a sad story that he is the way he is than just the ordinary evil stuff
Yeah, that is really nice of her. I would probably do that as well if someone I believed in would die right next to me.
You can really it probably is really hard for her to do all that hitting with her mace like that. I mean just the way she express it before she hits him.
Yeah they probably aren't that prejudiced about her as many others are and that is maybe what makes her come back.
She isn't the only one that hesitates to fight Grundy too. I mean he didn't ask to be brought back. He seemed at peace when he died before and to be alive again (minus a soul) is no life at all.
Like Aquaman said at the wake, you don't understand it, you just have it (faith).
They show her about to deliver the blow, but then it skips ahead to her coming back out.
She went along with the mission until she became aware of the bypass.
True, he seemed a little hesitating at first, but it might be because she was acting different at first... or he simple got some kind of memory, we don't really know...
yeah I know what you mean. It was two interesting episodes I must say
Yeah, good they did, I don't think you had to see the final blow as you said it. Because I felt it was about showing her feeling about it not actually when she did kill him.
Indeed she did, and at that point she did what she thought was right as Flash said.
they both sort of stood there. her visibly quaking especially in the eyes. he just sort of enraged looking with just motionless. then they move again and she send through the pavement.
she'll do the right thing, but it doesn't mean its ever easy.
then there's the way she lights in Ancient History when she learns of a son, but John won't leave Mari.
So we won't learn yet how it happens. Just that it will.
There were a short moment when he seemed more confused than he already are. It must have hurt to be sent through like that. But yeah it was a nice moment somehow.
She made a very hard decision when she went after hem down to be the one to put him to rest. I think it's very strong of her.
Yeah I know, it was both understandable and kind of unnecessary somehow that episode. Since I understand John in not wanting to be destiny's puppet I would probably done the same, but still.
I know, she gave him a chance even if there wasn't anything similar with the Grundy she knew from before and Fate still seemed to be the only one understanding her.
Yeah, her friends didn't really care but somehow she did. I guess he showed her something new somehow, I don't know, she wasn't prepared for the way he acted in Terror Beyond
I still didn't see the point for him to tell her that even if he made that choice himself.
@KAJSKK She was really sad when he died, and she doesn't believe in an afterlife or souls, so for a moment she thought he hadn't died. At least, that's what I think.
thanks. i certainly thought did well in the end. i used a song i heard somewhere else, but the splicing thing was definitely new for me. i have seen other people use it, but i figured try and make my own.
I would have a gesture for you but my hands are tied. LOL

How do you mean?
KAJSKK 2 years ago
Like Fate said "I sense nothing of the Grundy we knew. Just rage."
Its like she's saying don't make me do this Grundy and he's saying please Birdnose. Of course that's just what I think it might be.
Yes she could have let someone else do it, but would they really understand what's happening to him or what happen to him.
She was there, then and now.
He met their son. She hasn't. In that brief moment its like she could be a creator (mother).
Elim1986 2 years ago
I know, but I still think, obviously since she tried, that shayera tried to reach out to him.
That might be the silent conversation they had at that very moment.
Probably not. She was all he had for the time since no one really cared about him.
She certainly was, but I think it was harder for her the second time.
You mean like that, yeah, but still I don't get why he had to tell her if he was going to stay with Mari.
KAJSKK 2 years ago
All the others attacked him out right or when he attacked someone with them.
She was the only one who tried to talk to him.
He does after all say to her in Terror Beyond why Birdnose help Grundy. Birdnose's friends hate Grundy.
She says Grundy help Birdnose. Birdnose help Grundy. It might sound simple, but its not what you say, its what you mean in their case.
Yes, I mean the first time it was about his soul. The second time it was ending his renewed suffering.
