  • I have tried the clear, olive oil&argan oil eco styler gel&the one that I liked best(and still use), is the olive oil eco styler gel...the other two gave me MAD build up&they're still chillin in my pantry!! lol!!

  • @Mstoot7

I was so mad I slam dunked the gel in the trash!!!

  • Your makeup Is pretty! ;0)

  • @VivaGlamVegasBarbie

Thanks... YT helped me step my game up!

  • Nice to see a fellow Brit on here! I use Eco Styler. What exactly were you trying to do? If you were trying to define your curls the trick is to make sure your hair is wet previously, then to spray a little more water on after you've applied the gel. I haven't tried it on my hair dry and wouldn't like to. But this applies with every kind of gel for me. I also make sure I have some kind of leave-in on my hair to protect it. Hope that helps!

  • @ItsyBitsyChelly

Just trying to smooth my edges...that's why I was so floored by the build up... I've never experienced that with any gel I've ever used. I appreciate the tips ;-D

  • Lol 'is that your hair?' A 'sistah' did that yesterday to a girl at work on front of our Anglo-Saxon colleagues... Embarrassing!

  • @spiceness

    lol @ Anglo-Saxon colleagues

  • *whispers* love your hair... where did u get the wig from?? lol

  • @24075725

    *lol* thank you ;-)

    wigsnweaves(dot)co(dot)uk

  • You could make your own Flaxseed/Linseed Gel, just YouTube it

  • @01375855885

True... I tried it a few years back and it wasn't hard to do

  • same thing happen to me with Miss Jessie's curly pudding and that was 25 bucks

  • For me Eco styler needs a partner in crime....I add a little lotion

or curling, creme or pudding to it...that helps it to not be sooo

drying for me....I'm still looking for another gel....just trying

the s-curl gel...it's okay doesn't give hold and definition of eco

but it's not as drying either....so the gel search continues...

still using eco sometimes and the s-curl sometimes, while I keep

    looking around....:)

  • @prowoman

I' m still looking too... for now I'm using Aloe Vera Gel applied after my leave in!

My Goal is to stop the product junkie-ism and discover my staples!

  • Looooooooll! I know dem ones all to well!

  • So Sim.. can you believe it after feeling fly as phuck today with my La Jay and old male friend is gonna ask in a crowded CARIBBEAN stall..."..dat aint yours is it? *Bajan accent*.." So I smiled..

This negroid is gonna try and pull di phucking hair, then pat it down... I was so pissed! What if the hair had slipped right off? >:(

It was such a silly question, this fool sees me about once a month and my hair is barely 6". Prffft I got asked the other day as well if it's a lace lol. Blends well!

  • @Mar00nDawta

If that was my "friend"..... that would have been an AUTOMATIC LOCK OFF!!!!! One less person to buy a Christmas card for!!!

  • You look gorgeous! How do you achieve your eyebrow look?

  • @MsSweetSelf

    Thanks so much.

After applying my foundation and powder, using a freshly sharpened eyebrow pencil (Rimmel in dark brown) using light strokes I fill in the brow, then finish with a concealer or cream to powder foundation 3/4 shades lighter than my foundation under the arch to give a clean, defined brow. I watched a tutorial by Selima77 to get some tips especially the use of a mascara brush to blend the pencil for a more natural look.

  • I cant stand that ether when people say that loud in public. Ask me at a low tone i will tell you. Another thing i get when my fellow black people see my real hair and say girl i thought you were bold under thier i didn't know you had that much hair why do you wear half wigs.BECAUSE I WANT TO.

  • @TheShavon32

my new tactic... as soon as I see a black woman examining my scalp... I put on my headphones and walk away!

  • Me either until February. I buy big bottles of Aloe Vera Juice and pour into a spray bottle. When I need to detangle my hair after weeks of twists or a twistout I spray my hair with AVJ and the tangles will disappear, try it and let me know what you think. I will not use anything else to detangle AVJ is cheaper than any other detangling product. ;)

  • Hey gyal looking gorg as usual!! I agree that Eco Styler Gel is not gr8 especially if used lots. They do an argan oil version now which may be less of a strong hold. The green one is not my gel of choice anymore. I agree with that bit about the IS THAT YOUR HAIR??? LOL!!!! Looking forward to your next vid xxx

  • @queenofsheba66

    Argan Oil eh? ;-D

  • Gorgeous as ever, LOVE the makeup!! I need some lessons next time you're in the stats Sim ;-D

    Smooches love.. Nat

  • @Nat0526

Hey Nat, I probably won't be stateside for a looooooonnnnngggg time. I'm surprised they keep letting through immigration *wink*. I miss you lots ;-D We still need to arrange that call.

  • ridinkydonkey... thats mine now lmao

    LOVE the hair, is gorgeous!

  • @Oli3TB76

Jake & Amir crack me up.... my fav vids "hygiene" and "ipad"

  • I like IC Fantasia gel....but that's just me...it's a few dollars more.

That's one of the two things I hate about LaJay...and it also brings all the 'Hater's to your yard something fierce.

  • @2damnfunny

LOL... I can't use IC Fantasia gel as I'm trying to stay away from silicone based products.

  • Yay! So glad to see a new video. What happened to all your other videos though?

  • @curve100

did a little *evolution* spring cleaning *wink*

  • Preach.....this is why I say out of south London. This women put her hands in my hair screeching at the top of her voice is this your hair Kmt

  • @tf1288

    oh no she didn't!!!!

  • Girl u are too funny lol. Try diluted apple cider vinegar for the product build up and aloe vera juice to detangle. Hope it helps.

  • @jaimuziq

thanks for the tip...didn't know AJ could be used as a detangler

  • Um, are you willing to give away the gel? Ahem... I'd love to take it off your hands and trade you Kinky Curly Curling Custard. Bleh.

  • @arikeer

when I saw what that product did to my hair in went straight into the bin! I was soooo vex!

  • @S1MNICITY Nooooooo! I would throw away the KCCC but hair money is hair money. Smh. Guess I'll just mix it with other products.

  • @arikeer

the Ecostyler is cheap... I would never throw away KCCC.. that stuff probably costs more that gold *lol*

I love KCCC for providing coil definition for wash and gos but as a styling gel it had zero hold and the consistency is odd... maybe try mixing it w/ aloe vera gel

  • @S1MNICITY Yeah. I was going to try with the aloe vera gel. Thanks for confirming. :D Have you tried taliah waajid detangler??

  • @arikeer

I really like that product and its very easy to get hold of so it's a staple...for moisturising I pretty much mix that with Giovanni Direct Leave In and add aloe vera juice (cos Kimmaytube told me too *wink*) and I've started a new love affair with coconut oil so I seal with that. My second natural journey has been amazing because I'm finally figuring out what works for me... the first go round was trial and a whole lotta ERROR (wha wha whaaa)

  • @S1MNICITY YES! Im heading to Whole Foods tomorrow morn to get Coconut Oil && Aloe Vera. LOVE me some GDLI! Im like, two and a half weeks new being au natural. I love it. But I think my hair is growing and its getting weird on me lol. Wash n gos' are my best friend but sometimes I just want to throw a wig on and call it a day smh.

  • @arikeer

    oh congratulations ;-D

trust me it's one hell of a journey (highs and lows (until you master your hair))... don't let moments of frustration get the best of you...after 2 yrs of being natural I relaxed my hair... WORST DECISION EVER!!! KCCC isn't effective on short hair, I got the best results when my hair was post 20 months. The biggest lesson I've learned is the importance of keeping your hair in a heat free stretched state for the majority of the time e.g. braids/twists/ponies

  • @S1MNICITY Thank you :D!

Yeah, saw a couple of youtube vids on how to bantu knot and such. But I think my hair in the back is a tad too short for it. Wah. Tough road but Ill be damned if I ever resist to the creamy crack. Nein Danke (no thank you in German lol).

  • @arikeer

keeping your hair stretched isn't an issue when your hair is shorter but once you get past 4 inches the hair is more prone to tangles...well are the best w/ embracing your curls/coils and you should post videos so we can all encourage you on your journey ;-D

  • @S1MNICITY I plan on doing that really soon but like, Im hella shy lol. I dont take criticism too well. I mean, wont fall apart if someone is just stating their opinions but people can be REALLY harsh and just plain ol cruel.

  • @arikeer

People online can be unnecessarily cruel... true indeed. An alternative would be fotki, the natural hair commmunity is very supportive on that site and you can keep your albums private so the mean spirited folks can't plant their seeds of negativity. In any case do what you are comfortable w/ but take pictures for yourself so you can see your progress :-D

  • @S1MNICITY Yes. So true. I will sign up to Fotki. I already have a blogger but I guess people wont follow unless it says "Natural" "hair" in the heading ._. lol.

  • @2bnaturalz

I'm so glad to hear it wasn't just me... I thought I must have alien hair because you hear nothing but good things about it on YT

  • how can i have such nice lips ?

  • @nasifu

eat carrots everyday and do 10 jumping jacks each morning before breakfast ;-)

  • I miss you on yt and fotki.... please come back :-(

  • @pwepwete

I probably won't return to fotki (I'm not as hair obsessed as I was in '07 but I'll always show my face on YT ;-D

  • Sim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man... I miss you on yt! *sniffs* oh I have a La Jay? I love her! What do you use on her. Make up wise what colour/make? Can you do MU tutorial please? *breathes* Can you tell I'm excited that you're back on YT? Lol

Ps.. I had the same problem with Eco gel. After one use, I went back to Fantasia

  • @Mar00nDawta

    you are toooooo kind ;-)

I don't use any product on La Jay...Make up wise.... I couldn't even begin to list what I used... I mix products to get the right colour match or achieve the look I'm going for... I use everything from MAC to Rimmel. Re: make up tutorials, I seriously have nothing new to bring to the table, I perfect my techniques by watching other women on YouTube.

Re The Eco-Styler... must be something wrong w/ the UK batch ;-)

  • LMAO at the end! Your earrings are fierce and so are your eyes! Good to see you. You should swing in more often. xoxoxox

  • @anitdnahS

    Hey ;-)

I have nothing to share... and I don't want to get too personal on here (my co-wokers found my channel and I can't have them all up in my Kool Aid) *grins*

  • @S1MNICITY I hear that! My new manager was like can I have your blog address I was like ummmm no!! LMAO

  • I mix mine with oil ....

  • @SarenzoBeads

did you do that to resolve the build up issue?

  • @S1MNICITY I fine when I mix it it does not make it as hard & makes it easier to wash out =)

  • @SarenzoBeads

hmmm I'll have to forget the trauma until I try again ;-) but thank you for the tip... I appreciate it ;-D

  • Have you tried making the Eco custard?? Where you take what your going to use for the day put it in a separate container and add your favorite oils to and stir it up really good, it comes out looking like a custard. Maybe with the extra oils in it, it won't have a glue like hold on your hair??????

  • @haffilvgrls

hmmm sounds great but I'm terrified of that product now... I've never experienced anything quite like it. Plus I only use it to smooth my edges so I really need a *gel* not a pudding.

  • looking beautiful hun

  • @bettytoo2

    thank you *blushes*

  • I like eco hair gel in a way not for my whole hair! I have natural hair too. I love your makeup look today really cute!

  • @mecadsmith

I only used it on my edges, that's why I had the patience to remove all the glue like clumps... If I applied it to my entire head I would have been bald in today's video because I promise you I just would have cut my hair.... it was that bad!

  • did you use it on dripping wet hair?

  • @girlycurls21

no not at all... just on my edges.

  • @S1MNICITY oh ok...i think it may help to try it on dripping hair...i find it work better and it is easier to wash out afterwards...
