From what I know:

-they never spawn from a Spanish port

-come from either a prosperous or wealthy cities

-and usually acts as an escort for something

The first one I ever got came out of a British port and at the time I had a pretty big bounty on my head from the British since I was basically sinking there ships left right and center. But the chance of seeing one throughout a career is slim.

@NLDProd Since Spanish are often the richest, they can( if I remember properly ober the years) also spawn SotL. As for the rate of spawning, I was farming my Spanish rank near english cities of St.Kitts, and within a year ~4 of them spawned. Havent seen a single one after that for the remainder of the the game. So it's a luck, but often a guaranteed luck. Just dont expect to get you SotL in first days on a sloop(tho it is possible).

I got my copy at my local EB games [Game Stop] for a cheap $10. But if you're unable to obtain it from there, Steam also has it for $9.99 assuming you have a steam account and if all else fails either eBay, Amazon, or even check the official site and order it from there.
