KU has had win streaks (home games) of over 50 games at least 4 times in its history. Allen Fieldhouse is very much an intimidating place to play.

Who cares about the largest? Allen fieldhouse is the loudest bar none. Many consider Allen Fieldhouse to be the best college venue in basketball. No school has deeper history and tradition than the Kansas Jayhawks which also has the best college basketball fan base in my opinion. Kohl Center could be a little higher just because it's consistently hard to win at, but Wisconsin doesn't really have the "history" of some other schools (unless you count beating top 10 OSU, Purdue, MSU and similar teams in recent years).

Just watch some videos on here of the crowd atmosphere. The building may not be as spectacular as some of the stadiums listed here, but the crowd is what makes a venue great.

@steezmagnetic316 its the oldest active arena in college basketball. been used since the 20s I believe. its also one of the few areans with an elevated floor. it looks "ghetto" because it has over 85 years of history inside it.
can't really argue with the list,however, i would definitely move a few around, like hoosier's assembly hall up and hinkle a few back as well as breslin center. overall, you hit all the ones that needed to be on there.
@lightmyfire321 the list isn't about the teams as much as the venue. butler plays at hinkle fieldhouse which has stood the test of time and is one of the most historic/pure basketball venues still standing- not to mention the movie 'hoosiers' was based on the true events played out in hinkle. the movie was actually shot there as well.
Good to see Williams Arena made the list. At one time,in the early 50's Williams was the biggest collegiate arena in the country,but firecode regulations and space lost to luxury seating has reduced attendance by about 4,000. That place used to be nuts-still not bad,especially the raised court.
My homerism might show through on this, but Allen Fieldhouse at KU is far and away the best venue in the country. Cameron Indoor is great, I've been there as well, but IMO it's not quite as good at the Phog.
Im pretty sure u missed Mackey Arena, the home of the Purdue Boilers, All the Duke players themselves said it was the loudest atmosphere they have ever been in when they went to Purdue, re think ur list......

How can you mention the new arenas on this list (Matthew Knight Arena and the new arena in downtown Louisville). They have no history. If you mention Oregon and Louisville on this list, then you should be mentioning Mac Court and Freedom Hall respectively.

Where's The Spectrum from Utah State??? Are you kidding me? They easily have one of the best home court advantages and I'm not even a fan of the team. Just watch some videos on here of the crowd atmosphere. The building may not be as spectacular as some of the stadiums listed here, but the crowd is what makes a venue great.

@lightmyfire321 the list isn't about the teams as much as the venue. butler plays at hinkle fieldhouse which has stood the test of time and is one of the most historic/pure basketball venues still standing- not to mention the movie 'hoosiers' was based on the true events played out in hinkle. the movie was actually shot there as well.

Good to see Williams Arena made the list. At one time,in the early 50's Williams was the biggest collegiate arena in the country,but firecode regulations and space lost to luxury seating has reduced attendance by about 4,000. That place used to be nuts-still not bad,especially the raised court.

My homerism might show through on this, but Allen Fieldhouse at KU is far and away the best venue in the country. Cameron Indoor is great, I've been there as well, but IMO it's not quite as good at the Phog.

@akaAMMON if you want to go by actual sound level then The Pit wins. 125 decibels. Nobody has ever topped that. UNM does have an advantage in its low roof trapping the noise more than most other arenas. still tho, 125. thats impressive, not to mention dangerous

Has anyone been to UD Arena in Dayton? Cozy and loud during Flyers games, plus the only arena that is apart of the NCAA tourney every year. IT is a staple of college hoops.
