ya we had a guy in my club catch fire and he put himself out it was a fuel fire but your not going to hurt the motor by spraying it down unless you spray water on the turbo then you might crack a housing but still its better then paying for a new hood those can cost well over a thousand dollars to replace and a turbo housing can be as little as 500
The fire extinguishers the fire dept uses is powder type and if you spray one close the engine you have to taer down and clean it. Because of the the powder particulars will eat oil and bearings up. Its just like putting sand into a motor. The driver was not to concerd so it must not of been close to eletrical wires or anything of that matter. Most exhaust headers on them get hoter that the fire on most runs anyway.
Da kann ich nur sagen, HAHA FAIL!!!

They had the fire under control so was no need to waste a motor that cost that much. The guy was still in the tractor can't be too bad.

How are they gonna damage it??? It's most likely going to have to be rebuilt anyway.

I got video of this tractor in pinetops NC, He also has built a new one for a another man. The new one is a MX285 Case IH, and man it is bad

is there a reason they arent really putting it out?

my exact question! I was shocked no one cared to put it out really!, they are like watching it right next to it. lol!
cwboaze 4 years ago
That's because of they dont want to damage it, and the fire isn't very heavy.

how can you damage anything with putting out a fire? it's not like it's going to run better next time when it burns down...
